Anyone who has spent a summer afternoon at the parks knows the forecast that matters isn't "60% chance of rain". It's when. Our all-new weather page at wdwmagic.com/weather is built around that question, using the National Weather Service forecast for the parks.

Hour by hour, for today and tomorrow. A rain chart shows the chance for every hour from 6am to 11pm, with a lightning bolt on the hours when lightning is likely, which is what actually closes the outdoor coasters, water rides and Skyliner. Beside it, a plain-English plan: the best dry window for the parks, the storm window and what to do during it, and whether the nighttime shows look safe.

Feels like, not just temperature. A second chart plots the air temperature against how it will actually feel, flags the hours above 100°, and calls out the coolest park hours of the day. In winter it does the reverse and warns you about a cold rope drop.

Today at a glance. One strip at the top of the page shows the whole day: dry, showers, storms, lightning, the hottest hours, sunrise and sunset, when the parks are open, and where you are in the day right now.

Live radar over the resort. An animated radar centred on the parks, with all four theme parks, both water parks and Disney Springs marked, that replays the last hour. When rain is on radar, the page says so in words: "showers 8 miles to the west, moving east at 15 mph and arriving in about 30 minutes."

And the rest:
  • A pack list for the day: poncho, sunscreen with the UV index, water, a jacket for a chilly morning, whatever that day calls for.
  • Park hours against rain for every park, including the water parks, at opening, mid-afternoon and closing.
  • Weather alerts for the parks, plus a quieter note for storm statements nearby in Orange and Osceola counties.
  • A seven-day outlook with the rain window and expected rainfall for each day, and a line that picks out the driest day, the coolest morning and the latest park close of the week.
  • The NWS forecast discussion, summarised for park guests, with the meteorologists' original text one click away.
  • Orlando International delays and ground stops, straight from the FAA.
  • What's normal for today's date and for every month of the year, from NOAA's 30-year records, for anyone planning a trip months out.
  • Live hurricane season tracking from June to November.
The page refreshes every few minutes, and the homepage weather panel now links straight to it. Let us know what you think and any suggestions for new features or improvements. Thanks!
