WDW In January??

Hi guys! Need some help with going to WDW in the month of January. How cool is it? Do you find many attractions closed? Any help would be great. I am trying to convince my husband that not everything will be closed and the weather will be just right. We are usually October people, but after the past few years of going (we didn't even go this year) we just don't find it fun anymore. The crowds are getting too large and it seems to just be getting worse.

Thanks a bunch!! :D

Does it really get that cold? Most people have told me 65-70 during the day and 45-50 at night.
WOW! I have never seen 20 in Florida!

We were there in January a few years ago and it was 65 during the day and 27 at night. The next day was about 40 and the wind made it miserable. The only saving grace was that it was 10 degrees and snowing at home.

Sort of off topic, but I'll be there in January too! I'm actually moving in on the 19th (for my cp), but I'll be visiting a few days before. :sohappy:

I said upper 20's.. lol.

That's unlikely though.

More than likely, it'll be in the mid 40's-low 60's

We've gone in January several times now and the weather has covered the spectrum. There have been days you could comfortable go to a water park, wear shorts and t-shirts, etc. There were also days (in the same week) where we had to wear winter coats and gloves in the park (even during the day when it would typically warm up so you'd only need sweatshirts). The moral of the story is that when we go in January we always pack a little bit of everything.

Thanks for the tips gang! We would be going the last week of January so maybe we will get a break. I always seem to over pack. My husband is going to have a cow when he finds out we need to have an extra suitcase... Good thing we are driving!

We have been the past few years in Dec/Jan and as other people have said you can be wearing your coat one day and sunbathing the next. We have been to see fantasmic when it was really cold, they were selling hot chocolate and towels!

The great thing is it is not too busy, we get to the parks early anyway but we have never queued for more than 15 mins for anything.

Have fun :)

We went this year in January. It was warm two days - I wore shorts. It was cold two days - I wore long pants and a coat.

WATCH OUT for the cheerleading championships. You could run into a lot of noise and some over all rude people. You may want to check the Disney Wide World of Sports site to make sure you will be OK.

I wouldnt choose to go any other time!! The queues are short, most of the rides are open and living in England 60 degrees at the end of January suite me just fine. Have been 5 times, last time, Jan 2003 and everything was brilliant:)
Its ok during the day but a little chilly at night but the lack of people in the parks compensates for the colder weather.
Good luck

I know! I have participated in them in the past and remember how loud we were. Does anyone know how far in advance they sched. these things? Our trip is not going to be til next year:( so that should give us time to book around them. It looks like the trend is later in the month:veryconfu

Thanks for the tips!

Sorry if I offended you! I'm sure not everyone in a group like that is loud or rude but it only takes a few to ruin it for everyone else.

We went around January 20 this year. I don't remember the exact temperatures, but we generally needed light jackets in the morning, and then it was warm and sunny in the afternoons. By afternoon, we either left the jackets in lockers or carried them.

Unless last January was warmer than typical, I'd say you'll be comfortable unless you're particularly cold-averse or spend much time in the shade.

Have a great time!
