Other than the phone number on the disney world weddings website are there any other ways to make an initial contact, ie email ?

They like you to call first, because they will assign you a wedding coordinator. That's whose email you will then get, and you can contact that person through email. They have a method for assigning coordinators, so giving you any of their emails probably wouldn't be much use to you since they would refer you back to the phone number.
I didn't have a Disney wedding, but did engagement photos, and had help planning a Disney themed wedding back at home. I still had a coordinator, they are really wonderful.

You can only call for your initial contact. After your first contact, if you are within a certain time period (for Escape, 1 year; for Wishes, I think it's 16 months), you'll be assigned a Wedding Consultant within 2 weeks. HTH!
