On ME to MCO and listening to chatter. Bridge connecting bay lake and seven seas lagoon leaking. Major traffic. Very interesting to listen too. Mears is trying to reroute ME pickups.

They have been working on this for a few weeks. Not sure if the leak is to do with the work (there are a lot of pumps in the area), or whether the leak is the original issue that is being looked at. Either way, it has been an active work area for a few weeks.

If they have to shut that roadway down, imagine the issues of getting people in and out of MK with all of the trouble that the Monorail has been having and one of the ferry boats to go into dry dock soon. If all of the resort guests had to be bussed to the TTC then make their way across....

I'm glad they have plenty of time to get it fixed before my next visit and the Marathon!

I love that bridge. It is such a cool idea, I guess except when it leaks! I really hope that they can fix it.

I often think of it as a reason that I love Walt Disney World and some of the thinking that went into it. Why have a regular car bridge over water, if you can have a little fun and let the boats drive over the cars?

Of course with this kind of thing comes higher risk and responsibility.

Was it leaking or flooding? As Steve has said they have been working on it for a while now. A big storm came through around then, so maybe the drains just couldn't keep up.

I was viewing the July 3rd Fireworks from the grass area infront of the Contemporary, and on our drive to the Contemporary I noticed a series of long and big hoses that ran down the sidewalk beneath the tunnel. Also there seemed to be somewhat of a construction area set aside ( with fencing and portable toilets) infront of the Contemporary. Not sure if any of these have to do with the leak?

isn't that an aqueduct or viaduct?
This is an aqueduct:

If World Drive had to be closed under the water bridge, buses leaving MK could head north and loop around the back of the park rejoining World Drive past GF.

well once its fixed it will just be water under the bridge. :hammer:

The busses would have to go around the Magic Kingdom to get to the Bus Stop, and guest who are trying to get to the Contemporary would have to take the back route. Correct me if I am wrong.

I'm at Wilderness Lodge now. It took me 1 hour 30 mins to get from Magic Kingdom back to Wilderness Lodge tonight, due to that storm, and 'water leak'. For the longest time, no one had any clue as to what was going on, then, some 'suits' showed up. Took them at least 30 mins to come up with the bright idea to try to use the 'back road' that runs in back of the magic kingdom to at least get the buses re-routed to get to the magic kingdom. Someone came around and said, they are working on getting something set up to route everyone using the 'back roads', then the rain stopped, and finally, the road re-opened. One would have thought they would have had a back up plan in place long before this. Just goes to show ya, the wheels of 'problem solving' today in corporate America run very slowly :)
