Walt Disney World Railroad closing for most of October for refurbishment

There's no Tomorrowland station at WDWRR -- there's a Fantasyland one. Doesn't defeat your point, though.

Ah, yes, that one; Mickey's Starland Station, Mickey's Toontown Fair Station, and now Storybook Circus Station. I've always just considered it the "Space Mountain station" since I take that little path to/from that station and Space Mountain. I'm a Tomorrowland kind of guy. :)

And agreed that long stretch on the northern half of the park is the best spot for a diorama show building for the Railroad.

The WDWR needs it. There are parts of the track that are at a high risk of creating a major safety concern if it weren't addressed. There was a quick closure a couple months ago for this reason.

Wasnt this refurb supposed to happen when Toontown closed? And then got shelved once they created the Outpost #story for taking on steam?

Well this does suck, but every October it seems at least one major attraction if not 2 are down, so im glad its this and not any of the mountains for our halloween trip!

Algae and pollen.

Remember that this 'channel' is RC controlled with gates to prevent flooding. Sadly, the gates are seldom opened to promote flow and prevent stagnant water.
The canal system isn't in the best of shape.
Due back around september from what were told. Boiler redone completely. running board just was finished about a month ago. Also she isnt in strasburg anymore. thank god lol
I'm very happy she's back.

Glad to see disney have finally published this refurb it has been in the planning for a while, we the cast have know about it for a while.

As for the Lilly Belle, I have not heard any info as to when we will finally get her back at wdw, september is just a rumor, however once she's back I doubt she will be in service immedietley as the engineers will all have to be trained on her before she comes out. I must admit though I don't think we will here a date for her return, she will just appear in the roundhouse on day and take even us cast by suprise. Lol

Is the refurbishment set to be through October or November 20th? the Disney travel Agent website shows...

Sept. 30-Nov. 20, 2013: Walt Disney World Railroad will be closed for refurbishment.

Did the dates change or does Disney have it wrong there?

WDW refurbishment calendar still says Sept 30 - Oct 20. Pan is closed at the same time and longer.

I think the Railroad needs a bit of help. It could use some sprucing up, especially in the areas you really only see from the train. It's a nice relaxing ride, and gets you where you need to go, but it'd be nice to make it more special than just another transporter. Give us some more stuff to look at, and fix up what's there.

One part I'd really wish they could at least theme is the Service road bridge just before the Storybook Circus Station...At least theme it to a cavern or something not just seeing the underpass of what looks like a common expressway bridge..
