why don't we have the course for Wine/Dine yet ??!!!
I’ve been checking the usatf website Incase they update there first, but I don’t think they will before it hits the website. Looking at the past couple of years, it looks like they measure the courses for the year’s races in mid-September, but don’t “officially” submit until a few days before each race weekend (if there are changes). So, doubtful we’ll get a sneak preview that route (but I highly recommend checking it out and searching “Lake Buena Vista” for active and inactive routes if you want to geek out on all the old stuff back to the mid-90’s!).

I suspect they have to remeasure them at the very least because of construction changes to landmarks on the maps, but would frankly (in my novice opinion) be surprised if the Wine and Dine routes are different from last year and this year’s Star Wars (10k and half looked the same to me anyway). Given the extra magic hours continuing at HS through the 10K (6AM) and half (8AM; first day after extra extra is done, but they still set extra magic for HS that day), I doubt it will go through the new land.

I’m excited for the changes for the marathon though! This will be my first one (and first Dopey... my first half was rival run challenge this April... a month after my first 10k... what am I thinking?!? 😳). Looking at old maps, I’ve been curious why they didn’t go through at least one water park in the past.

And another one of those you-didnt-ask-for-it-but-we-gave-it-to-you-anyway-Disney -changes. A thirty minute earlier start?????? Dear Lord. Why?

I've never been to blizzard beach, but please dont let it be a twisty-turny cluster like ESPN.

And the funny one, " more time in Epcot and less on the road." I can't imagine how much less on the road....a mile, maybe a mile and a half.

I wonder if this is due to potential work for the Mary Poppins attraction? Instead of kicking runners in the UK, I wonder if they would have you come in by Imagination or between the Seas & the Camera Center instead? I can't think of any other way to really add more time in Epcot without having runners do an out and back in the World Showcase. "Welcome to Mexico! Now turn around and run the other way around World Showcase this time. Surprise!"

Wild guess, leave AK on to Osceola, detour to loop through Blizzard Beach, back to Osceola.

Or, exit Blizzard Beach north on West Buena Vista to DHS bypassing WWoS completely.

It used to go through Epcot twice. It started where it starts now, came in the front at Epot, went to the left at the WS and exited at Norway, appropriately, by the Greta Waitz statue.

You talking about the red/blue starts? I found that caused chaos at the merge, and I really don't think they can revert back to that with their current numbers. The start as it stands helps to spread out the crowds over those first several miles before they enter a theme park. My memory is fuzzy and I can't find any of the maps online, but that sounds about right for one of the courses. I seem to recall that the second course did a separate chunk of Epcot.

There was no red/blue when I did the early entry into Epcot. So I'm assuming they fixed that. I know someone who did red/blue and they did say it was a bit of a mess. Running into Epcot in the morning with SSE lit up followed by World Showcase in the dark was epic.

It looks like it did two runs through Epcot for quite some time in the early days. Here’s the maps for the years I could find up to 2013:

1998: https://www.certifiedroadraces.com/certificate/?type=l&id=FL97001WN

2005: https://www.certifiedroadraces.com/certificate/?type=l&id=FL05002DL
2008 (blue): https://www.certifiedroadraces.com/certificate/?type=l&id=FL08075EBM
2008 (red): https://www.certifiedroadraces.com/certificate/?type=l&id=FL08076EBM
2013 (no longer through Epcot twice): https://www.certifiedroadraces.com/certificate/?type=l&id=FL12007TY

Before the red and blue it went through Epcot twice. Even when it was red and blue, I did find it all chaotic. I find it bizarre anyone would claim it was.
