Walt Disney Studios Refurbishment My Way

After reading Team Green/Team Orange’s fabulous Disney-MGM Studios 1995-2001 upgrade and most recently @TwilightZone ‘s stellar revamp of Pixar Pier, I was inspired to do my own take on Walt Disney Studios; dubbed the worst theme park that Disney has ever made by fans and guests alike.

Earlier this year, Iger announced a 2 Billion Euro expansion on WDS (something he should have done at D23 instead of AoM). The biggest details of the plan are 3 new areas; Marvel, Star Wars:Galaxy’s Edge, and Arendelle respectively, with the latter two being closest to a new lake that will connect the three lands and be the focal point of some of the park’s new entertainment. There will also be a Toy Story Playland expansion over in Toon Studios.

While this is a fantastic, long, overdue welcome to the park, I personally feel as though there should be more. And for this, I will be making my own changes to the park, starting with the new entry land.

Hollywoodland

Hollywoodland will be entry land into Walt Disney Studios, replacing Studio 1 and much of the southern and southwest region of the park. Hollywoodland will also be divided into 4 sublands; Buena Vaita Street, Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, and Maroon Studios/Toontown.
We’ll first start the tour of with Carthay Circle; our first subland.

The new entrance to WDS; where Studio 1 sits today; will resemble the Los Angeles Union Station as a compliment to the Main Street Train Station nearby.

Buena Vista Street will not be a direct clone of DCA’s version as I while be adding some new content, so it will still be themed to the Los Angeles that Walt Disney went to and it will still have things like the Red Car Trolleys, Carthay Theatre and Oswald’s Service Station. I’ll start with Hollywoodland Vehicles. These will; obviously; be the Main Street Vehicles of WDS, allowing guests to get in the seats of some vintage cars while also breathing life into the land.

Also serving as streetmosphere are the Citizens of Hollywoodland; much as the Citizens of Hollywood over at Hollywood Studios do.
Similar to this are the Spectacular Slapstick Stuntmen: Lights, Camera, Laughter. Inspired by comedic silent films from the 20s and 30s and found across Hollywoodland, the SSS:LCL is a stunt show where cameras (and sides) are rolling and performers are clowning as in Hollywoodland, all the world’s a soundstage. Guests can watch and laugh as performers throw pies in each other faces, do death defying acts, and do other acts inspired by legendary actors such Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin.

Our next and final addition is Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream at the Atwater Exhibition Hall. This is where the history and ideas of Walt Disney Studios, Disneyland, E.P.C.O.T. and Walt Disney himself can be found. For this version, I decided to go with @DisneyManOne ‘s version of One Man’s Dream and have the working studios and park aspects be from when he was alive.

Now that we’ve covered Buena Vista St. we’ll travel into 1930s Hollywood Boulevard very soon.

Hey guys, hope you’re enjoying today’s content. I’ve been thinking about my take on Buena Vista St. and I’ve been thinking; does it make Hollywoodland too big? I mean the land itself is a nice view into Los Angeles when Walt first went there but I’m think about scraping that land in favor for Hollywood Boulevard; which represents 1930s Los Angeles respectively because I want to keep ToT for Sunset Boulevard, but because of how it’s placed, I’m not sure if I want to keep it in its location while changing the land or tear it down and rebuild it in another part of Sunset. What do you guys think?

I think it is fine like that, I really liked the sound of it, however, if you consider it might be too big, maybe it can be scaled down a little?

Disney & Universal could make a agreement of adding a Springfield area & The Simpsons Ride in WDS with cast of the French dub reprising there role.
I want to make WDS’ Springfield to be more original; wether as a subland for a 20th Century Studios Land or as its own land. So while the French dub would lend their voices for the characters in rides and shows, they won’t be doing so for TSR.

Good call! I definitely think Uni's Springfield could be improved on. Excited to see what you do with it!

Downside it would probably be called or located something/somewhere different like how marvel land is going to be "super hero land".
