Well, not an interview with Walt obviously. But Bob Edwards Weekend features an interview with Neal Gabler this weekend, who has a new Disney biography out. I heard the last few minutes of it in the car today. It's nothing groundshaking, but Gabler provides some interesting insights into Walt the man without canonizing or demonizing him. Here's the summary:

Hour Two: Kati Marton & Walt Disney
Bob speaks with Kati Marton. She was born in Budapest and went on to become a reporter at ABC and NPR. Now she's written a book about nine remarkable Jews who escaped Hitler's Europe and went on to change the course of history: THE GREAT ESCAPE: Nine Jews Who Fled Hitler and Changed the World. Then Neal Gabler has just written a monumental biography of a quintessentially American dreamer; it's called Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination. December 5 would have been Disney's 105th birthday and this week marked the 40th anniversary of his death.

Bob Edwards Weekend is distributed through Public Radio International. The show's website--with a station locator--is here: http://www.bobedwardsweekend.com/onxm/features/bob-edwards-weekend.xmc
