I remember going to see this show when I was younger in 2003 and although I don't remember much, I do remember it raining on the audience during the storm scene with the ship near the beginning. In fact it terrified me so much that I hid under my seat and it's all I remember about the show. I don't even remember If I made it through the whole thing or my family left because of that. Did it actually rain in the theater ?
Any help would be awesome :)

You are blending two different instances of the show together. At the beginning of the show, the ship crashes into a wave and audience gets sprayed with mist, followed by a curtain of rain on the stage. At the end of the show, when Ursula takes over, she creates the storm that you are remembering. It "rains" on the audience during that storm, although its really just feels like more of a heavy version misting that you got at the top of the show.

I had a problem as well with the water curtain being busted. As of 3 weeks ago it is now fixed.

They also had a very cool effect in the early days that doesn't work now. At the beginning of the show, as 4 lasers go off overhead fanned out to look like we were under water, they would then move up, making it seem as if we were descending. The lasers still work, but they no longer move. Sad, as it was a very effective effect.

I was just thinking, it's really great that you admitted you may have just misrembered something from a while ago instead of spending untold hours arguing with people about it, like some people would.

I'm guessing that's a subtle reference to the king Louie thread lol
