Not really. His clients are seeing MM+ as value-added, not unlike a new attraction. It is but one more positive that makes them want to visit. But that's not someone booking a trip because of MM+, or because they want to wear a band. That's them looking forward to it on their next trip. Two very different things.

DIS doesn't allow savage beatdowns like the magic boards though
Well, some are even thinking of delaying their trip until the bands are fully deployed....
My first question to this was, "Why?" then after thinking about, I guess, "Why not." When you're playing up coming attractions for WDW I can see why someone would be excited for this.
But I can only see someone getting excited and moving their vacation for it in a DDP kind of way, or a chance to meet a talking Mickey.
Yeah, they were douches, but so are most of those people at those digital functions. But Staggs sure didn't send her to WDW and the FLE to knock her socks off, did he?
I agree completely, P&R is a small part of TWDC and not what you'd buy stock focusing on. I got on the topic from @dadddio (I think) saying a shareholder should like MM+, and I think it's way too early to even remotely think that. In fact, thus far all there seem to be are giant red flags flying up all over the place over it.
And within the P&R segment, the past two years the numbers have shown DLR and DCL have been carrying the load and WDW has been dragging it down. To point to WDW and anything they're doing (or are in the midst of doing) as a success motivator for shareholders isn't correct.
People will book trips for new and revolutionary experiences. Not one single person will book a trip because they want to experience MM+. That should bother people.
In fiscal 2012 P&R was 30% or Disney's revenue and 19% of it's operating income, hardly a small part.
I'm on the fence about my upcoming trip in November. After hearing about the issues with the initial testing I was kinda hoping it would get delayed until after I'm gone. I admit I like the bands themselves in concept and having my room, FP and cash register charges all done with the waive of my wrist. I do want to try it out, but it didn't factor into me booking my trip one way or another.
FP+ I'm not really sure about. I do like the idea of possibly booking parade/firework space in advance and FP+ for select rides like TSMM. I already have ADRs for 5 of the 7 days and tickets to MVMCP on the 6th day so I'm not really worried about losing the spontaneous changes to my plans. I also know it won't be too crowded so I probably would not have needed FP for most rides anyway. The 60 day window seems excessive to me, but its better than 180 days like ADRs.
I've said numerous times I'm not talking just about the bands but the whole division between the haves and have nots that this system will create. I really don't care about the bands. I'm talking about the system as a whole. Disney will reward those they choose to with various things that others won't get. If you don't spend the same money, you won't get the same experience.
I won't even address the stock price statement. But it was good for a chuckle.
Or they can't afford it but they have a credit cardEveryone that can go to WDW in this economic climate is a "have"
More likely they are living on credit, but don't forget the large population of visitors on some form of government assistanceOr they can't afford it but they have a credit card
