I found this very interesting and I think this guy is spot on. This may be my last trip coming up after 25 years. We are not the rich people they want in the parks.

I am not so sure a Disney trip is all that over priced in 2026. Go price a week on the Icon by Royal Caribbean ,make sure to price in drinks package and wifi and a couple of extra dining options and then add on experience like shore excursions etc.

You can do Disney very reasonably staying offsite and go when they offer deals and all the way up to vip tour everyday and Grand Floridian suite.

Stayed offsite a couple of times. It's not worth it.

Your price comparison is flawed. You can't stay offsite at the Icon Royal Caribbean and why would I get the drinks package when I don't do that at Disney? I also can't afford to stay at the Grand Floridian even with a good deal.

We do look for deals and it still has become too expensive. However, I think the point of the video is they are catering too the rich and they have left the rest of us and don't really care as long as they make the money.

Just to point out the different way people evaluate their Disney Experiences. I have been to WDW 48 times over the last 43 years. I stayed onsite once and honestly couldn't wait for the week to be over. Not only did I consider my stay onsite as not worth the money, it wasn't even pleasant in anyway. I didn't stay in the high end resorts, it was Pop Century which I know is at the bottom of the list for WDW resorts, but I found no joy in it at all. The food court was awful, I hated taking the buses, especially to MK because I consider taking the ferry or monorail from TTC to be arriving at the front door. The bus made me think of coming in the "servants" entrance.

For many years I/we traveled on a budget. We tried to make every nickel count. We loved to explore other areas as well as being able to go to a decent sit down dinner without reservations deciding what we were in the mood for at that time and not 6 months earlier. I always had comfortable rooms offsite where as in Pop Century you had to step outside to change your mind. The TV selection was very limited onsite, but I will admit that I cannot stay in one place for any length of time. Probably why I tried to never do anything that would get me in long term confinement.

I never went to WDW to experience the resorts. When I lived in Vermont I drove the 1500 miles most of the time and I went to see the parks, I did a couple of things beyond that but I could go to a nice resort in a whole lot of places where I wasn't forced to pay twice as much for food and lodging. Offsite was and, if I traveled anymore, still my choice for a relaxing vacation that didn't break the bank and I got to see everything I wanted and a whole lot more. Now with the cost of admission, food, necessary add-ons like LL or things that once were included in the cost of walking into the park, I cannot justify the costs. It no longer is enjoyable or fun for me. I understand that this is the opposite for you and thousands of others, but that is how I roll.

Yes
It's personal circumstances and valuation based. We just returned from our spring trip to primarily consume Flower and Garden, but the other parks as well for multiple weeks. We go mostly for the warm weather and F&G while it's on average 15-20 degrees warmer than at our primary domicile. There are plenty of experiences at WDW that we don't see the value in that we skip...a lot of dining, lightning lanes.

Don't blame the clown for acting like a clown, ask why you keep going to the circus"

Yup! We used to be avid cruisers with Royal. Then the prices kept going up and up, which is why I am typing this while sitting on my porch at one of the Fort cabins right now. Cheaper for me to do 8 nights here than 8 nights with Royal.

Another one of those posts. I'm not in the category of being "rich" but Disney is a place we love to vacation. When we go we plan accordingly to our budget and make it a trip we will enjoy. We save and wait until we know it won't break us. We don’t load up by credit cards, go into debt and pay for anything we know we can’t afford. Yes Disney has gotten more expensive but so has everything around us. It’s a more expensive world. We've never returned from a trip saying it wasn't worth what it cost us.
There aren’t any corporations or companies that have not been forced to raise prices to cover their costs or to keep from going under. Disneys CM's have to get paid, their benefits must be paid for, operational expenses must be paid, new attractions must be paid, transportation upkeep and operations, and many more costly items get paid for that our trip payment goes towards. And Disney and the shareholders have a right to expect to profit as well which keeps them solvent.
These Disney is too expensive posts and clips only make Disney out to being the bad, heartless, greedy bunch that robs from the poor. Nothing you now will buy is what it used to be.
Save , budget, sacrifice, make wise choices which allows a trip to happen. Stop crying, nothing is free and nothing stays the same, if you want to play you will pay. Thats not just Disney.

You really should have tried another resort. They are very different and your one time poor experience should not lead others to think all resorts are poor choices.
Many people are in situations where a resort stay is too costly and going bare budget off site works for them. I have nothing bad to say about their choice of stay. But they are missing out on a different experience on site that could add to their vacation. Some resorts are better than others and anyone staying onsite needs to read reviews and know exactly what they are or are not paying for. I understand your position that you can’t justify the expense and that’s not knocking your choice. Everyone’s bottom line at different times in their lives differ and if it’s too costly then it’s too costly.

I believe everyone is not getting the point of the video.

If you are middle class, upper or lower, you are not Disney's target consumer. They want the rich. The ones who can afford things like Lightning Lane or Premier Pass without batting an eye. That's why there are really only 3 value resorts, The rest are for some of the upper middle class but most of the resorts are for the rich of whom, if they stay at a delux resorts, get extras like extra evening magic hours.

OH they take your money but you are not whom they want.

I think the point of the video is if you visited WDW in the 70s, 80s and 90s you KNOW we are paying MORE and getting LESS today.

Folks who started going to WDW recently have nothing to compare it to, so they see value I guess.

They don’t care If you’re rich or can buy it without “batting an eye.” They just want your money. If you put it on a credit card, makes no difference to them.

I assume you've correctly accounted for that food is included on a cruise and is not at WDW?

That's one basic thing WDW doesn't understand ~ people with that kind of money don't spend it on stupid purchases with little value.

TLDR - You don't get/stay rich by throwing money away.

Our family mitigates this by just going less often..

This is us... nostalgia alone no longer brings us back to Disney. We go to Disney when it's been a while and there is a bunch of new stuff to see since our last trip. Right now, that usually works out to a trip every ~4-6 years. On the other years, we spend time seeing some of the many other amazing sights (and amusement parks) there are to see around the world. I said it before and I'll say it again, if you are limiting yourself to ONLY going to Disney for yearly vacations (no matter how much you love Disney), you're missing out on some pretty amazing other places (even just here within the U.S.).

I agree 100 percent! There are many EPIC things to do and see outside of Disney ;)

No they don't throw it away but, they do spend it on stupid things at times because money doesn't mean the same to them as it does to us. Their money comes in and quickly replaces what they've spent. They've wisely invested so their "work for a payday" isn't a grueling work week in most cases. Spending on a Dis trip at deluxe resorts, with VIP tours or LL's every day saves them time. It isn't frivolous spending to them and the cost is minimal compared to the big item purchases they make in their lives.

I agree but it's also about what you as a family want in a vacation. Dis offers things no one else gives you. Also what a family that is made up of certain ages can arrange that makes a trip easy to do. There were places I could have travelled to when my son was young and it would have been a waste of money because he wasn't going to stand for anything other than a theme park.

Having been to all the parks on this list, I agree that they are all worth checking out... I wouldn't necessarily agree with the order they are listed in (and I also agree that there are parks missing that should be included in this list, even if it means bumping some of these parks outside the Top 10).
