Disney has announced Vacation Fun - An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie will be temporarily closed beginning April 29, 2026, and is planned to reopen later this year.

They refurbish this more often than their E-tickets with broken effects.

Seems Vacation Fun will be closed due to the location being a May the 4th merchandise spot - here's what Disney says:

May the 4th be with you! Celebrate Star Wars Day, Monday, May 4, 2026, poring over an exciting mix of new and limited-edition Star Wars themed items to choose from at Vacation Fun in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and at Once Upon a Toy in Disney Springs. Items will include adult and youth apparel, collectibles and limited-release pins.

Operating hours are posted for Vacation Fun beginning May 7, 2026.

The Mickey Shorts Theater is back open at Hollywood Studios after closing April 29 for the Star Wars May the 4th Merchandise Event. No changes were made to the attraction during the closure, and the theater is running today from 9am to 8pm.

Mickey Shorts Theater closes August 9 to become the pickup location for the next Annual Passholder magnet, which features Kermit the Frog. Distribution runs August 11 through September 24, 2026, with one magnet per Passholder while supplies last.

These silly things are that big now they need an entire theater facility to manage it?? How much red tape and cast is it going to take now! Last time they almost wouldn't give it if you showed the pass on a android phone, Disney is purposely making that difficult.

This is one attraction where I was disappointed to read "temporarily" in the title.

Are you kidding me? They are closing s show to hand out a stupid magnet? Who the heck is running the parks this would have never happened under Staggs.

I imagine it would be way more disruptive to have the crowd these attract just out somewhere in the park randomly. This at least keeps the influx of people in one area and out of guests who cannot partake in this’ way.

While it’s not a huge loss it’s very silly to close an attraction for a magnet distribution.

At Epcot and DAK they just had them in the gift shops and it worked fine.

Unless they are doing special photo ops in there?

But even then there is certainly space somewhere else.
