Well yes. Sunglasses are usually curved tho. I've seen many people add welding glass to a lens hood for fast mounting.

I should also mention that this is NOT as good as an ND filter, but a good way to decide how one is used and if you should invest in one. You will get light leaks as well as severe color shifts (fixable in post).

Uh, yes and no. Yes you could but sunglasses are nowhere near as dark as welding glas.

I have one... it's fun and easy to use. I don't mess with color though, fixing the color cast takes some work. I just convert to B/W. I got a sheet on amazon for a few bucks.
