I am planned to go in mid June of this year and so far I noticed that the following attractions will be closed:

Space Mountain
TomarowLand Transit Authority
Hall of Presidents
Ellens Energy Adventure
And more that I cant remember right now.

Oh well. Ill have time to pay more attention to other things I suppose.

I wonder why they scheduled all of these to be closed at once thoguh?

The Space Mountain refurb has been on the books for awhile now. Hall of Presidents always goes down while they add the new President.

All of those refurbs have been planned and announced for a long time now. The information was also available before you booked the trip:shrug:

I'd give anything to be going to WDW this summer (or this year, for that matter...I have no idea when we will be able to go back), even if alot of rides are closed.

But I know it can be disappointing when your favorite ride is down. I was there when Spaceship Earth was closed and it was a bummer, but after being sad for about....oh maybe 15 seconds when I first walked by the closed ride, I was fine!!

I'm sure you will still have fun....there are soooooo many other things to do besides the few rides that are down!

We're going mid-June too. I'm sad because the TTA is one of my favorites but I know there's plenty more to do! We'll miss riding that but we'll be fine!

Once you get there, head to guest relations and make your voice heard. Disney doesn't want any unsatisfied customers so they may consider re-opening the attraction earlier or delaying any future refurbishments.

Use the time that you would have for these attractions for some stuff you have not done yet. You never know, you might find a new favorite attraction while you are there. Or you could visit something outside of the parks like resort hopping.

Sorry that they won't be open for you....try to focus on the 100's that are!

I realise it's a little bit dissapointing , but hey look on the bright side you will be in WDW and it has so much more to offer then rides !

Enjoy your vacation and look forward to improved rides for the next time you go !!

Space Mountain must happen. And in order for that to happen, TTA must close. And because we have a new president, HoP needs to close to install the new AA figure and make some new enhancements to the show.

I know it's disappointing, but it's nothing to be mad at WDW about. In fact, we should be very happy that it's happening. I go to WDW every other year, so it's not like I'm an anual passholder. Still, I know that it's for the better. And look at the positive, the only major ride closed is Space Mountain. That's one of about twenty E-tickets at WDW. :)

OK, so you have one E-ticket, one non-major ride (though I'll admit the TTA is one of my favorites), and an animatronic stage show that rarely shows to a full theater... And you're ed at all that?

Let's look at what was closed on the only visit I've ever made to Disneyland as an adult (only other visit was when I was 6):

-Space Mountain
-Big Thunder Mountain
-Small World
-Rocket Rods
-Fantasmic wasn't showing
-Back half of Tom Sawyer Island was closed off
-Innoventions was half empty
-Subs had been mothballed for a while
-Superstar Limo had been closed for a while, and Monsters Inc hadn't been announced yet
-Tower of Terror was a couple months from opening

Was I disappointed? Yes.
Did I whine and moan and get upset? Nope.
I enjoyed what was there and I had fun!

At least Disney makes it publicly available as to what attractions will be closed. Most other amusement parks in the country you can't find that out until you walk up to the gate. (And even then, I've seen many who don't post signs outside)

There's always something closed, and they will alwats be SOMEONES favourite. In a place so big and full of attractions it's to be expected. I would be mad if they never updated or changed anything - or if things broke down due to lack of maintenance. If you can't enjoy the rest of the 45 sq miles then you should be holidaying somewhere else.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Trust me, we all understand why you're upset, but
A) Refurbs have to happen, and
B) If there was a new thread every time someone went to WDW and one of their favorite rides was down, there would be nothing else on WDWMagic.

I understand that TTA needs to be closed, but am very sad about it. Now I got to find a new spot for my kids to take a power nap.

I find it strange that on this thread many are saying its OK because there is a lot more to WDW than just rides. At the same time another thread is open about a family who went to EPCOT and only found one ride at the park. Many in that thread are saying how ridiculous it is to go to WDW and not ride the rides. Also how it is incomprehensible that one would ever go to WDW without first planning out their every move so they can ride every ride there is...
