Info passed along from IOACentral...

Popeye Bilge Rats has finally gone down for rehab (this has been needed for a while now). Hopefully all animatronics will be repaired.

The McBean Driving Machines are still being maintained and kept in working order... is there still hope!?! Keep your fingers crossed.

Dueling Dragons and the Dueling Dragons entrance are now going down for Repaint (this also has been needed).

Possible names for the Mummy Attraction are either Revenge of the Mummy or Escape from the Mummy's Tomb. Both names are regstered with Universal now.

Feel free to add on anytime...

Hope they don't call it 'escape from the mummy's tomb'

I wish they would just call it "The Mummy" and let the vagueness of the name speak for itself. Anything else sounds too cliched.

Agree there. The name like that'll regester it with the movie more and it'll add more surprise to the actuall attraction.

Guys, you can believe it or not, but the possibilities of Driving Machines actually opening is really getting a strong backing recently. We may see the park finally running all rides in the near future. Things are going on behind the scenes to get this ride back up to New, Fresh looks... and employees are beginning to hear positive things about it's future as opposed to the last few years of "It will never open". Just keep a watch out... seems like an easy way for IoA to open a "New" ride during the time that all the money is being funneled into Universal. Who knows ??? But it's the best chance yet.:)

I saw the 2 test cars going around the track yesterday. They were sorta noisy, but I think they had some type of sound effects coming out of them.

Back in '99 when I went I saw some trains going around before park opening.

At Universal? Never heard about it, and I certainly don't know the character...

It's part of the Seuss World of characters. It also involves the Sneetches... at least it was going to at one time. If you have been to IoA and saw the tracks above ground in Seuss Landing... that is what we are talking about. :)

Riiiiiight, now I got it. Thanks, Spidey!

Yeah, I remember seeing a little car or something like that rolling around up there, kinda like in the Grinch movie... Had no idea it was supposed to be an actual attraction.

Does anybody know for sure that DD has reopened after the repaint. I was planning to go Friday but wanted to make sure the paint was dry and we were ready to fly.
