I see that Universal have gotten permission of the government over in Germany to build there next park. What's everyones views on it?

Persoannly I think it is stupid as I believe that it should be built in Britain!! That is partially only because I live here  but even though the weather stinks here the UK is one Disney and Universals biggest visitors and they have to travel over to Florida, California, Paris etc. to get any of the magic! I'm not saying Disney should build in UK because Paris is relatively but even so Universal should expand because the nearest Universal resort is Porta Ventura Spain so why don't the big two ever think of putting stuff where the long suffering UK fans will be easier to access it?

Although a Universal Studios in the UK sounds good. I just don't think we would be any good at it! We are just no good at the happy customer service bit, unlike our friends in the U.S. I've been to Granada Studios in Manchester and it's such a major disappointment after US. It's so small and full of unenthusiastic people and that's just the staff!

As for Germany.... Ditto! Plus the weather is just as naff as the UK!
It would be very well organised, knowing the Germans but I don't think they really do the happy customer service bit either, if you know what I mean.

On the upside we don't get twisters and alligators..... I'm struggling now!

I also would have to agree with the first guy, we do deserve a universal studios within the uk totally because not only because of the tourists but the uk boasts some top locations for movie shooting. Heck wasn't a famouse universal horror movie made in the UK oh Yeah "American Werewolf in London", oh not to forget notting hill was made here, bridget jones's diary, etc,. Heck Speilberg (also a creative consultant for universal recreation) himself shoots some of his movies here. It would also compete with France with Disneyland Paris, Plus Universal has offices here in the UK for example Universal Music is like 15 minutes away from my house.

The many reasons that i've heard for the german park are total rubbish, like for instance it's the centre of europe and it's cheaper, heck as the first guy stated we are the ones who fly out to the U.S.A the most than any other country in Europe especially to Orlando and I can't believe we are getting brushed off like this, so what's the deal?

Ya know how ironic this is, a company called rank (incharge of rank cinemas, butlins and various other entertainment companies within the uk) still has stocks within Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Japan i.e they helped with the cashflow for the production of both the orlando parks and citywalk orlando and the japanese park too.

And i've heard that the japanese park is like a 2-3 hours train ride from disneyland tokyo is that true?

I could go on with alot of other reasons, and I have also written to Universal in the past and all i got was a "thank you for your consideration but we are mainly focusing on our new project "which was IOA at the time.

So I repeat the question: "WHY HAVEN'T WE GOT A UNIVERSAL STUDIOS LONDON?"

Because it's more profitable to have you book an all inclusive trip and pay for things from Disney/Universal like resorts and such.

Which you do, and Disney/Universal likes you doing.

If built anywhere in the UK, it could be considered a day trip by all of the UK. You'd stop going to WDW/Uiniversal Orlando and paying resort prices.

No we wouldn't because like the excuse universal gave for the Japanese park, the london park would have rides that are unique to that specific park. i.e. Universal wouldn't be losing out on anything!
