I think the blue rim but especially the tint on the underside of the canopy looks nice in Shanghai, does anyone care that that’s missing? Of course we’ll have to see how it comes together but I’m worried they managed to build a worse version of it here.

I think our white on white looks much better in our Tomorrowland. For once, they considered the fact that this is next to Space Mountain and will tower over it from some angles. The only color should appear at night. Just like on Space Mountain.

I think it's been discussed that the canopy itself is the same color and Shanghai, the color different just comes from the light conditions. The rim does look to be a different color.

It's certainly possible, but in all the photos I've seen of Shanghai, the canopy looks silver regardless of the light conditions, and the original concept art for MK shows a silver canopy with blue trim that matches the Shanghai photos. Given the change from blue to white for the trim, I think it's possible that the canopy has also been changed from silver to white to better blend in to Tomorrowland.

I certainly prefer the blue trim.
I'd be inclined to think that we're not getting it, because I would think the color would already be on those panels.
Buuuuut...
If I've learned anything with Disney construction recently, things sometimes get added when I think they are done.
The cladding on the NovaCorp ship pedestal, and the recent damage detailing of that ship being two examples.

Ignoring that the second photo looks to have been colorized in Photoshop, none of those photos really refute what I said. I never said there was no variance in the color, just that all the variations still looked silver (regardless of how much reflected color there was in them), and never appear as white as MK does.

If you look at the above photo, you can see that the canopy looks much more grey/silver when compared to the white wall toward the entrance. If the canopy were white like MK's, then it should appear closer in color to that wall, which it doesn't.

So it looks like they can't even finish the train tunnel until after that scaffolding is taken down. So even at the absolute earliest we probably won't see the WDW RR until a month after that.

I am a Gen Z'er who got their tiny brain blown by seeing Tron Legacy in theaters as a kid and... is it bad I'm more excited by the idea of more and new Tron merch than the actual ride?

It's not the lighting. Take a look at the photo I posted again. As I said, if the Shanghai canopy were white, and it was just the lighting making it look grey, then the white wall near the entrance would look similar to the canopy - it doesn't; it looks white.

The MK canopy is white. No amount of "bright, blue skies" could make a grey canopy look whiter than it is. That's not how color works. Could it look greyer in more overcast conditions? Sure; but that's not the point. The point is the MK canopy is white, and a photo of Shanghai showing a white surface and the canopy in the same shot (and therefore the same "smoggy" lighting) shows that the Shanghai canopy is not white.

I have not been to Shanghai. The best source would be a Floridian who went there and then came home and saw ours, but I assume it is difficult for Americans to go to SDL right now.

Which is why I specifically chose a photo that had a large white surface near the canopy to serve as a reference point.

It would not, if anything white on white would just make it look weirder and more drab.

The canopy trim in Shanghai matches the repainted rocks almost perfectly.

My suggestion for fueling diesel engines has been and still is to use the proven technology of recycled vegetable oil. So, the exhaust smells like French fries what's wrong with that?

They are doing just this in Telluride with their free, city wide transportation busses! (To fancy a place for just regular fries, however.

You are the Bobs target audience...if they could get away with building a themed gift shop and skip the actual investment building an attraction, i think they would jump for joy. Let's not give them ideas...lol

They had the canopy panels inflated to the regulation PSI, but when Brady announced his return to Florida, they deflated them for him.
