Sounds great-- can't wait to hear more!

Did your brother pick up that shirt in the parks? Just wondering if that's one of the new retro shirts that seem to be coming out more and more...

Yes, my brother picked up that shirt at Epcot. I picked up a retro Epcot shirt myself, the yellow one that says "EPCOT Center" and has Spaceship Earth on it. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow. We loved the shirts we picked out and were proud to rock them all over the parks. I also wore my WDW Magic shirt with pride too! And that's my wife in the Bon Jovi shirt...the four of us are HUGE fans and have seen then live too many times to count.

I'm glad you are all excited to hear about our trip, because I'm excited to share. I have tomorrow off from work so I'll transfer my trip notes from my little notebook to this post.

Awesome! The more I see with the new retro merchandise, the more I like...I better start putting a little bit more into my Disney savings so I can stock up on all the goodies. Of course, always good to see someone sporting the WDWMagic pride.

I'm excited for the next installment...time to get some popcorn before the next show!

Nice T shirt - did anyone comment or introduce themselves as a result ?

I was totally waiting and hoping for someone to come up and talk to me. I thought maybe I'd even get to meet one of my favorite WDWMagic characters. I had a bunch of people look at my shirt for an extended period of time, but no one said anything.

OK, on to my day-by-day report!....here we go, back to Walt Disney World!

DAY #1 - Friday March 7th 2008
"Travel to Florida"

  • The day had finally come! Time to go back to our favorite place on Earth.
  • Let me introduce you to our group. There's me (Jeff), my wife Carisa, my twin brother Dan, and his fiancé Faith. The four of us are a VERY close group and do everything together.
  • We woke up at 3:30am (we wouldn't have it any other way). The countdown on my computer finally read “0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes until Walt Disney World Vacation”!!! My brother called me to wake me up singing “Now Is The Time” from Carousel of Progress.
  • For breakfast we had iced honey buns from Ikea….yum!
  • Last minute check lists and making sure our TiVo was set and we were off!
  • Our Dad drove us to Providence RI at 5:00am for our 8:00am flight to Orlando.
  • We were supposed to have thunderstorms all that day, but when we landed it was bright and sunny and boy did that Orlando air feel and smell so good after leaving freezing temperatures on Cape Cod that morning! There’s nothing like being back in Orlando Florida and being one step closer to Disney World!
  • The rest of the day was spent getting our rental car, checking into our hotel, and going grocery shopping at Publix to pick up supplies.
  • We watched Stacy’s “Walt Disney World’s Top Seven Must Sees” non-stop the whole time we were there. We will always prefer Krissa’s version, but Stacy is still annoyingly quotable.
  • We watched Wishes and Illuminations from the balcony of our hotel that night to get ourselves excited. We even brought binoculars to get a better look.
  • In bed early because we had a big day coming up….The Magic Kingdom!

DAY #2 – Saturday March 8th 2008
“Magic Kingdom”
  • Woke up at 6am to clear skies but cool and very windy…but at least no rain! We had our thunderstorms the night before after we had settled in for the night and it was all over by the time we woke up…now that’s Disney magic!
  • Arrived at Magic Kingdom at 8am, we were one of the first 50 cars there.
  • Took Monorail to entrance to watch the opening show “Good Morning, Good Morning”!
  • Stroll down Main Street USA, what a sight! We were so glad to be back once again.
1) Small World (first ride tradition in our family)
2) Pirates (new additions were awesome)
  • Off to do our Triple Mountain Whammy….”Wham, Wham, Wham!”
3) Splash Mountain (very, very, very, very wet this time)
4) Big Thunder Mountain
5) Space Mountain
6) Carousel of Progress
7) TTA
8) Haunted Mansion (was completely delighted and impressed with all the new stuff, just GREAT!)
9) Space Mountain (2nd time)
10) Big Thunder Mountain (2nd time)
  • Lunch at Pecos Bills
11) Disney’s Dreams Come True Parade (front row right outside Pecos Bills)
12) Pooh
13) Snow White
14) Mickey’s Philharmagic
15) Small World (2nd time)
16) Swiss Family Robinson Tree House
17) Tiki Birds
18) Jungle Cruise
19) Pirates (2nd time)
20) Haunted Mansion (2nd time)

23) Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
24) TTA (2nd time)

DAY #3 – Sunday March 9th 2008
“Disney’s Hollywood Studios” (MGM)
  • Woke up to sunny skies. Still cool, but no wind today. We were still waiting to wear our shorts, but had to go with pants and long sleeves.
  • Arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at 9am.
  • We heard great news from the Tram driver…that Block Party Bash was going to be previewed today! We are going to be the first to see it! Sweet!
1) Great Movie Ride (simply perfect attraction)
2) Tower of Terror
3) Beauty and the Beast
4) Rockin’ Rollercoaster (ride broke down and the wait ended up being 1hr 15min)
5) Tower of Terror (2nd time)
6) Star Tours
  • Lunch at Pizza Planet
7) Block Party Bash Parade (very high energy and fun! I posted a full review of the show on WDWMagic so check it out there.)
8) Muppets 3D (always great)
9) Great Movie Ride (2nd time)
  • Cheerleaders were EVERYWHERE! Come to find out there was a cheerleading competition taking over the Indiana Jones show. Oh well, we’ll hit that next time.
  • Mickey ice cream bars
10) Back Lot Tour
11) Rockin’ Rollercoaster (2nd time)
12) Voyage of the Little Mermaid
13) Animation Tour (hadn’t done this in years, it unfortunately needs help)
  • Search for dinner after 8pm was hard, with a lot of places closed for the night and others too expensive or requiring reservations. Rosie’s had to suffice before heading to Fantasmic!
14) Fantasmic! (lined up at 9pm and had great seats up front for the 10pm show. Small crowd, but GREAT show as usual!)
  • Shopped Hollywood Blvd
  • Home by 11pm.
  • Another wonderful day! Tomorrow is our first day off and we’re going to Downtown Disney at night.

Sounds awesome so far! Seems like it wasn't too crowded since you got all of those rides in. I like how you have a first ride tradition. Our first ride on our last trip was Pirates of The Caribbean and that started off our day great because we were so close to Splash Mountain(my favorite). I think that should be our first ride every time. Can't wait for more of your report!

DAY #4 – Monday March 10th 2008
“Day Off / Downtown Disney”

  • We slept in today and we needed it. The girls went down to the pool while the guys got a few extra hours of sleep.
  • Breakfast at Denny’s at 1pm
  • Lounged by the pool and went swimming. It was finally nice enough to wear shorts and feel that wonderful Florida sun. Napping occurred between dips in the pool.
  • Headed to Downtown Disney at 6pm, which was the first time for all of us.
  • So many choices for dinner but we decided on Planet Hollywood. It was very loud in there (we’re not even 30 yet but we’re getting old apparently). Food was really good and the movie memorabilia was so much fun to look at. Our favorite was the ax used by Jack Nicholson in “The Shining”.
  • Shopped at World of Disney (really huge and awesome and seeing the old parrot barker from Pirates of the Caribbean was so sentimental).
  • Home by midnight. Tomorrow…Epoct baby!!!! We felt recharged and ready after a nice day off.

I'm a busy man, so I can only do one day at a time. My wife's calling me for dinner (Subway...we're trying to get back to eating better), so I have to go for now.
