Wonder what the approx. travel times are from the Grand Floridan to:
- Magic Kingdom - monorail
- Hollywood Studios - via bus?
- Polynesian Resort - monorail

We'll have 3 kids under 5 as well as great-grandma along, so it would help to have an idea.

Thank you!!

I'm not sure of the bus routes from the Floridian, but once on the monorail it's about 3 minutes to MK and 12-14 minutes to Polynesian. (You can also walk to the Poly in about 15 minutes)

The frequency of monorails can vary, so include 5-10 minutes wait time.

For Hollywood Studios figure 20 minutes travel time after you board the bus (and if you get to the bus stop and have just missed the bus, you may have to wait up to 20 minutes for the next bus.)

To get to the Poly from Grand Floridian you can also take a boat in addition to walking or monorail. This is the same boat you can take to the MK from the Grand, only it stops at the Poly first.

As someone who just spent this past week at the Poly, I recommend using the boat over the monorail...the monorail had LOTS of mechanical issues, resulting in a 45 minute trip from Poly to MK one morning (should take less than 10 minutes) and a 35 minute ride last night from MK to Poly. The monorail was also closed sometimes during the day.

Be aware that the monorail isn't always very reliable. Aside from the some times in the afternoon when it is "down," it can suffer mechanical issues and also have to wait for clearance from the station ahead, so you get stuck waiting on the beam.

We stayed once on the monorail beam at the Poly, and went right back to staying at an Epcot Deluxe Resort; walking in to a couple parks leisurely still trumps busses and monorails.

But in your situation with the traveling party, the monorail should be a help to MK.

We like boats as well on Seven Seas Lagoon, but may reconsider if three kids under 5 were part of our group. Pack patience (i.e. distractions for kids) for inevitable waits on either bus or monorail. YMMV re: times to park/resort.

Are they having problems with the monorail to EPCOT ?

I too recommend the boat, kids love it and it's a wonderful way to start or end your day. The bus to studio's and animal kingdom will stop at the Poly as well.

The resort launch to the Poly is about 5-7 minutes and is the way to go. Monorail from GF to Poly will be about 20 minutes.

For the reverse trip, Poly to GF, take monorail from the Poly to Grand Floridan. It will be about 5 minutes. The boat from the Poly goes first to MK and then GF and will be about 15 minutes.

GF-MK= approximately 4-6 minutes
MK-GF= approximately 10 minutes

GF-HS= approximately 20-25 minutes
HS-GF= about the same

GF-Poly= By monorail about 15 minutes, but by boat 5-7 minutes.
Poly-GF= By monorail about 5-7 minutes, by boat 15-20

hoped this helped! remember to factor wait times in!

monorail 5-15 minutes
bus 5-25 minutes (depending on the resort)
boat 10-20 minutes

ENJOY! *o*
