There definitely was a monorail route planned decades ago that was abandoned, but though it looks close on a map, they are actually pretty far apart for boat transpoort....and then having to connect the waterway systems would be more expensive than a monorail extension...

I don’t know of any plans to have connected the area by water to anything other than the four resorts currently serviced.

There were plans to extend a monorail line and at one point plans for a trolley connecting it to Port Orleans and Dixie Landings.

Rails would be great, but I think the notion of a trolley is a short jaunt and jump on and off... this would be a longish ride much like a bus...is what I am saying...

Oh I see. Many trolley / streetcars ran pretty considerable distances. The New Orleans St. Charles streetcar runs 13 miles which is double the distance of Animal Kingdom to Disney Springs.
