Transportation Question

First time Disney World vacation countdown...four days!!! So many transportation questions.
My family and I are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. If we are taking the bus, what time should we leave the hotel to ensure we are at each park for rope drop?
Is Uber worth it? When?
Will the buses be running for the extra magic hours?

Hello and welcome! Congrats on your first trip!
So Disney states the busses start running an hour before the parks open, though people have seem them run even earlier. If you want to rope drop I would suggest getting to the buses about an hour and a half before parks open.
Uber was worth it for me at least from AKL. It wasn't too bad priced maybe less than 10 before tip but you don't have to wait on the buses or if there are multiple pick ups. I believe Jambo is picked up second if I'm remembering correct so that shouldn't be too bad of a problem if you are there but in Kidani just know they pick up Jambo house after.
Yes buses pretty much run until all the guests are gone. :)

I just stayed at AKL in May and it was incredible! I'm headed to the Yacht Club next for the first time next!

The buses start running by about 6:30 AM daily, most likely even earlier if a park has 7:00 AM openings (not sure if this is still a thing). Yes, you would probably want to be at the bus stop at least 60 mins, and possibly closer to 90 mins before the park opens. This allows for you to have just missed a bus, resulting in waiting another 20 minutes to get picked up, and then 20 minutes drive. It partially comes down to your desire/need to be there at a certain time and your ability to get out the door in the morning.
The worth to Uber/Lyft is up to you. Going to MK you would need to build in extra time to either walk from the Contemporary or travel from the TTC (depending on the ability of your driver to find either). The drop offs at the other parks are more in line with where the buses would leave you. Does $10-15 to avoid waiting 10-20 minutes for a bus seem worth it to you? If so, you know your answer.
And yes, Disney won't strand you at the parks. As the night goes on they may go from each bus running a single route to a bus running multiple routes, and potentially even get to the point where they just stick you in a van if you are absolutely last. Even on non-EMH nights this still happens. We had dinner at Rainforest after AK closed, walked out to a line of buses, they told us to head to the first one, tell the driver our hotel, and we were off.

I hope this is the right place to ask. I'm planning my first trip as well and was wondering of Uber/Lyft is typically easily accessible during the rope drop time frame or if I'm doing an 8 AM breakfast inside the parks (Epcot's Garden Grill, for example).

Thanks!

I have never had an issue with finding an Uber or Lyft. If you have both apps, even better!

We have never had an issue getting to either rope drop of before rope drop breakfast using Disney transportation (mostly busses). The only time I ever had to make other arrangements was for the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains tour when (on that date at least) I had to arrive two hours before park opening.

Yes, when you are staying at a resort.

No arrival times yet if you are leaving a park to return to your resort.

Odd, I looked for it when I was there last week & couldn't find it...I stand corrected.
There is a separate “Bus Wait Time” link. Like “View My Charges” the link only appears when you are an active resort guest. Don’t know why you didn’t see it. The feature was rolled out on June 18.
