We are a party of 8 and we would like to make an early ADR. We are staying at Pop Century and would like to get to EPCOT or to Chef Mickeys. Will the bus transportation work ?

Bus will take you to any park early for breakfast. Chef Mickey isn't at a park though. You would need to bus to the MK then walk over to the Contemporary, which is very close.

Or monorail. Yes, you would have to reverse backtrack a bit to the monorail station but then it's only one stop to the Contemporary. @bsmartin2000, if anyone in your party is limited in mobility this may be an option for you.

It will work but Chef Mickey's isn't worth the hassle IMO. If you're relying on Disney transportation, you're better of skipping most resort dining. I'd go with Garden Grill, Crystal Palace, or Tusker House.

Sure but it’s probably shorter to walk to the contemporary than to walk to the monorail. And you’d have to go through security.

You’d have to go through security anyway from the bus to the path to the Contemporary. They take a dim view of people trying to cut through the bus station onto the path.

It's never advertised and there are always people who insist the Disney buses won't do this, but we've always had very good luck with getting an early bus to drop us off at a resort for an early morning character meal. While I've never done it from Pop, we have had success from WL, Contemporary, YC and AKL. It's the only time we've ever been able to get them to do resort to resort.

That being said, Uber or Lyft is so much easier. Yes, there is a cost for it, but they can take you straight to the front doors of the Contemporary and you're not having to play the waiting game with Disney buses. We've had some really fun celebratory meals at Chef Mickey's and if you get the 7am slot, you can pretty much go anywhere for your day at WDW.

Garden Grill is a great character dining option and isnt as loud as Chef Mickey’s. The food is good also. There is also a new character breakfast at Riveria, and the food reviews that I’ve read have all been positive.
