Trader Sam’s Timing

Back with another question, y’all are so helpful! We are doing a resort day at the Poly on the Wednesday of our trip (mid Sept), and my husband and I really want to go to Trader Sam’s after the kids are down (my sister will stay with them while we sneak away). We’re eating at Ohana at 5 and hopefully want to get into Trader Sam’s around 8-8:30 window ideally but anywhere 7-9 would work. Do y’all think we should wrap up at Ohana and then go put our names on the list, or does one of us need to sneak over the in the middle of dinner to do it you think? Also are they in the same building or is Trader Sam’s too much of a walk from where Ohana is to do that? Let me know your thoughts! I know we can’t guarantee the timing but everything I’m reading online makes me think it’ll be around a 2 hour wait from whenever we put our name on the list.

If it helps, when we were there a few weeks ago, Trader Sams had about an hour to hour and 1/2 wait for walk ups in the evening. But, the outside bar/lounge serves the same drinks and there were many open tables most nights. You might even run into some celebrities at the bar....lol

LOL so cute. We’re pretty dead set on seeing the inside, good to know on the wait time! I’ll probably wait until after dinner to put our names on the list then.

Once they call you I think you get 15 minutes or maybe even a half hour to get down there. So I would check there first and they will give you an honest idea of the waiting list, if it's more than an hour put your name in and head to Ohana.

We need time for things to happen.
I would stop over before dinner and ask what it's looking like for that day. They can give you the best gauge as to how busy they are/going to be, but I am guessing best bet would be to sneak off about half way through your dinner and put your name on the list.

Yeah…in practice it’s not that hard to get in. Limited appetite for $39.99 drinks…I guess? 😎

I was there on Friday, and the line was already the entire corridor at 2PM. Staff, and a couple of 'regulars' seemed a little taken aback, but someone in the line mentioned that some TikToker had been pushing this as a "must do" (tm) experience, so...

By 3:30 PM they were warning that walk-ins weren't guaranteed.
