Toy Story Mania... Now on the Wii

PS - it will be like every other pointless Wii game with the exception of like, Smash Bros Brawl and maybe 5 others.

Super Smash
Mario Kart
Mario Galaxy
Metroid
Zelda
Mad World

That's about it when it comes to good games on the Wii, I'm glad I bought a 360 as well as it, or I would be seriously ed.

The ride is amazing but the game might be a little dull unless they can find a way to shot you in the face with water or a puff of air when I shot balloons. Regardless, the more Toy Story things the better.

I have a few of the Disney park based games like Haunted Mansion & Disney's magical racing tour. And I do hope this one will do good for the system...However and I do mean However...As many people who own the wii don't like party games where you have to use the friggin nunchucks to play a mini game (Such like Carnival games and Wonderworld amusement park) If this just uses the wii-mote I'll be very pleased..

After reading the original post, I had to check my calendar and make sure it wasnt April yet. I honestly thought this was some kind of April fool joke, lol. Either way, imo, it sounds cool. I can see it being a fun game for the wii, and I cant wait to see what its like. I wonder how they're gonna do it though, like what if they tried to do a 3d element as well? That may be kinda jacked up, but either way it sounds tight. Like many have said, itd be cool if they added some kind of pull string.

The games will be exactly alike. The only difference will be that you are not in a ride vehicle and the screen is smaller and without set pieces. Other than that it is the exact same thing. Maybe' if the games were different then it would make sense. but from the description it is just the attraction on the Wii.

So you're saying that if we have a Wii and a swivel chair we can host our own Toy Story Mania in our house?

That's like people not going to Fantasmic! or the Haunted Mansion just because they can watch videos on YouTube. If anything, it'll make the ride MORE popular, since owners of the game will feel a certain connection to the ride.

I disagree, yes there are a few effects you can't get on the possible home version of TSMM but seriously, this isn't the same as a youtube video comparison. SSE is another example of this with its similarities to the jibjab videos which are not considered the pinnacle of modern technology.

There just isn't enough "extra" to me to consider TSMM more than a glorified Wii game to begin with.

Nope, the name IS Toy Story Midway Mania. Just ask any Imagineer or Cast Member, Toy Story Mania is NOT the real name of the ride.

Again, Toy Story Mania: wrong.

This name? ^ Right!

Hi again - not trying to start a ruckus or anything - just pointing out that although some references (signage, etc) may include the word "Midway" - the name of the attraction has officially been shortened to Toy Story Mania. Please check the official WDW website for confirmation.

Have a nice day .

Regarding the difference between Midway and not Midway, I thought it was the difference between the DCA version which looks much more like a boardwalk midway and the DHS version which isn't.

I thought the same thing at one point, but both the official DL & WDW websites both say TSM now. It is my understanding that the original name was TSMM, but it was changed at the last minute (much like Monster, Inc Laugh Floor Comedy Club was changed to just MILF).

OT: The name of it is with the word "Midway" Period. They may shorten the name on websites, park maps, ect. but acording to an interview (lost the link) "Midway" is part of the name.

Ok back on topic: The game sounds like a fun way to fill the gap between trips. I have really enjoyed the mobile game for some time now & it just makes me want to do the real thing again even more. Since they have made a mobile game already for the cell it only makes sense that besides the Wii this also comes out for the DS/DSi.

I think it's just marketing. I don't believe the name ever officially changed. It was always marketed as Toy Story Mania. The billboards and signs in CA labeled the ride without the "midway" well before the ride even opened. As far as I know, DCA park maps still label it "Midway Mania", but the website and marketing materials do not. I have no clue as to why the mixed message. Especially in DCA, where there is indeed a Midway.

I wonder if the new Wii Game will post more "realistic" high scores. I'm so tired of the fake ones in the parks. :lookaroun

You sir, have not followed the track record of the Wii. Half the games that get announced for it should be good. But they turn out to be not so much.

Any new Disney game that doesn't have the words "Kingdom" and "Hearts" in the title probably aren't worth playing.
