Just curious and I apologize if this is a repeat. I LOVE the Disney resorts, spend a lot of time on our trips touring them, so curious what each of u would rank as your top 5 and why.

Mine:

#1 - Caribbean Beach - hands down for me and my wife. We honeymooned here and keep going back. We love the spread out layout and the tropical beach theme. Great pools and tons of on site activities. For us, this is the best food court on property as well. We always correct Aruba. The hammock on the beach and the beautiful sights are just fantastic

#2 - Yacht and Beach Club - great location and beautiful layout. Best pool on property and one of my favorite places to eat @ Beaches and Creame. Love the friendship Boats and easy access to EPCOT and the boardwalk

#3 - Port Orleans Riverside - Great memories here as we always stayed here as a kid. The Sassagola (sp) river boats are great, love the space and size, beautiful wooden walkway, and Piano Bob is awesome!

#4 - Boardwalk - See Yacht and a beach Club - just beautiful with tops of activities and easy access everywhere. Love the lounge chairs on the patio in the evening and the beauty of the old boardwalk for people watching

#5 - Grand Floridian - have never had the pleasure of staying but this just is Disney. Luxurious, scenic, great food, beautiful pools, the Monorail, and ability to see Magic Kingdom at night and Wishes is great!

What do u guys think?

I agree with you there with Boardwalk, mostly because you have the International Gateway to Epcot, and can walk to DHS

1. Polynesian - Beautiful, extremely well-themed, prime location and excellent transportation options (monorail).

2. Wilderness Lodge - Beautiful, extremely well-themed, nice secluded location, good eating places, enjoyable boat ride to/from Magic Kingdom.

3. Contemporary/Bay Lake Tower - Haven't stayed here...yet, but I love its proximity to my favorite park. Has a great look and theme, lots of conveniences, and rooms look beautiful with excellent views.

4. Animal Kingdom Lodge - Haven't stayed here, but love the overall look and theming. Beautiful savannah views to wake up to; some good eating spots too.

5. Boardwalk - Great-looking resort with very nice theming and nice rooms. Plenty of nearby eating places. Nice boat ride or walkway to Epcot.

Boardwalk hands down. The rooms are beautiful, the views, the easy access to Hollywood and Epcot, and walking out of the resort straight onto the boardwalk with all the action is priceless to me. There is so much activity that no other resort outside of that area comes close. Epcot is our favorite park, and we dine in world showcase 3+ times on our trip so it is very convenient. Plus you can hop on the monorail to magic kingdom.

Second would be wilderness lodge just because I love the lobby and isolation feeling is has.

My other three will just be based on where I have stayed in no particular order of old key west, grand Floridian, and I'll throw in the yacht/beach club since they have the wicked awesome pool on too of location.

1st-Grand Floridian....love the old school charm, and had an unbelievable surprise upgrade there. Hands down winner for me. Followed closely by....
2nd-The Animal Kingdom Lodge...so beautiful. Have stayed there twice and just love it. Get a deluxe villa, O....M....G!!
3rd--Old Key West....traveled with a large group on this one, and had nice walks in the morning with my wife.
4th--Saratoga Springs--have seen some on these forums say they didn't really like the place. I thought it was beautiful, and felt great remorse when it came time to leave. Didn't wanna go.
5th--Sort of a tie between Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach....plus haven't stayed at any of the others yet. Port Orleans was lush and I really liked the restaurant there, Boatwright's.

Going down again in two weeks and staying at Coronado Springs this time. Have heard the good and the bad, and have decided to try it for myself.

Want to try the new Bay Lake Tower and Wilderness Lodge eventually.

To date these have been favorite resort stays:

CSR: Loved the landscaping, the price, the hammocks on the sandy beach in front of the Cabana section
BC: Loved the room decor and being connected to the YC and all the little lounges. Loved walking into EPCOT through the International Gateway
WL: Loved the lobby. Loved taking the boat to MK or CONT or the campgrounds. Loved watching the light parade on the beach. Really like the gift shop too.
POLY: I just love the POLY. I don't really know why.
BLT: I loved the balcony and the quietness of this Hi Rise condo type resort. Loved walking over to the CONT to catch the monorail and dine at the CONT restaurants. Really good pools too.

Mine are:

Wilderness Lodge: this was our honeymoon resort so it's special in that way to us. It the grounds are beautiful, location is awesome, and LOVE the theming. Great food too!

Polynesian: this was the first resort my husband and I stayed at together on our first two trips. Love the location and monorail, theming, food, and overall vibe.

Coronado Springs: gorgeous grounds and lobby, love the rooms, love the outdoor entrance, and good food

Dolphin/Swan: tie for me. We've stayed at both and love both. Again, great location and food. Love the color scheme.

All Star Music: stayed here as a kid and really began to fall for WDW after this trip. This resort has sentimental value for me and I always have good memories thinking of it.

We will be staying at AKL in a few months for the first time-maybe that will then make the list!

WRONG!!!!

1. Wilderness Lodge - The pinnacle of the Disney themed resorts. It's beauty and majesty are unparalleled. Great food, stunning pool, great lounge, and that lobby, I may faint...

2. Old Key West - Humungo rooms, lots of privacy, gorgeous grounds, right on a golf course, and I own 170 points there. Hurray for OKW.

3. Boardwalk - I have only ever visited without kids, so having a room so close to Epcot and the only place on property for nightlife is ahmahzing.

4. Fort Wilderness Cabins - I don't care if they are just trailers made to look like cabins, I love them.

5. Contemporary - Classic Disney. Modular built(which was very modern at the time), monorail through the center, chef Mickey's, walking distance to MK. Great.

Only 3 for me.

1. Contemporary - most convenient and large rooms.
2. Cabins - very quiet, more room and your own kitchen complete with maid service to do the dishes.
3. Caribbean - nice theme and pools.

If I can't get any of those I stay off-site.

1. Polynesian - this has always been my favorite resort and we were lucky enough to stay there last year. The grounds are beautiful and it has some of our favorite dining on property (Ohana and Kona Cafe, plus Tambu Lounge and the Lapu Lapu's! :p) The rooms are bigger than other deluxe rooms and being on the monorail line doesn't hurt either

2. Wilderness Lodge - Stayed here twice and LOVED it both times. I love the fact everything is in one central location and not spread out too far. The lobby is just gorgeous and love taking the ferry over to MK. It's so quiet there even though it's not too far from the hustle and bustle of MK.

3. Boardwalk - Stayed in the villas for the first time in February and fell in love. Love the proximity to MGM and Epcot and also love the liveliness of the Boardwalk itself. It was so pretty early in the morning when we got up to go get our breakfast at the bakery. The studio villa we stayed in was very spacious, too.

4. Contemporary - We stayed at BLT so not technically the Contemp. While we had issues with our room, we loved the walk to MK and the monorail to Epcot. The Contemporary to me always screams Disney because it was always the first resort I would see on our trips when we were younger passing though on the monorail.

  1. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. This is because I have stayed at this resort more then any of the other ones. Also, the was the first eve resort I ever stayed at. Finally, it has a very close proximity to the magic kingdom and it is a really fancy resort.
  2. Disney's Contemporary Resort. Because it is very close to The Magic Kingdom and it is quite nice.
  3. Disney's Boardwalk Inn. Because the setting is absolutely beautiful.
  4. Wilderness Lodge. Because the hotel is beautiful and the setting on the lake is amazing.
  5. Animal Kingdom Lodge. I never stayed here, but from what I hear, it's an amazing resort. Also, I love animals, so I would love to look out the window every morning and see the savanna.

Going to do this one without reading previous answers. :D

1) Old Key West - Family favorite. Large rooms and quiet. Even better with a golf course view. Good restaurant.
2) Bay Lake Tower - Hard to top this with an MK view. Fireworks with music on the TV. The lounge is amazing.
3) Boardwalk - Location, location, location. Bakery, bakery, bakery.
4) Polynesian - Best ambiance. Just feels good to be there. Great eats.
5) Grand Floridian - Beautiful resort and good restaurants.

I've visited quite a few but not stayed at many different ones. I would say for me:
#1- Wilderness Lodge- beautiful and scenic, rustic, love the boat ride, lobby is awe-inspiring
#2- Coronado Springs- Love the theming especially the Dig Site pool- I feel like I'm in Mexico!
#3- Polynesian- Best overall food (Kona, 'Ohana) and nice beach/pool and landscaping
#4- Yacht/Beach- location, location, location!
#5- tie- GF and AKL- I didn't think I'd like GF but we visited recently and the lobby is amazing with all the levels, love the antique cars and the overall landscaping/decor; AKL wowed me with its sheer size (pool!) and the excellent dining available

- Boardwalk (love being close to Epcot, Big River Grille, and ESPN Club!)
- Yacht Club (also close to Epcot, super nice, and Beaches & Cream is tough to beat)
- Kidani Village (love the theming and the smaller lobby vs. AKL)
- Poly (the GCH is just plain awesome with the restaurants, shops, the waterfall, and that smell!)
- All Star Sports (I know, it's crazy to include, but I've had a lot of awesome times here)
