Tips on getting selected for Backlot Tour Show

I was wondering if anyone knows how they pick the people for the little show before the backlot tour? Is there any tricks to getting selected?

Two years ago I was selected as Davy Crocketts angel at Hoopi Di Do Review.

So last year I read some of the tips about Indiania Jones Stunt show and used them and was selected as an extra. So teasing my family I said what can I get chosen for this year, and they said what about the show before the backlot tour, so I thought I would put out the question and see if there are any tips.

Will be going in Nov-Dec of 06, and just made reservations at Animal Kingdom Lodge, yeah can't wait and it's a new place to so looking forward to it.

Thanks,

Phil

My dad and I have been selected twice, but pretty much a matter of coincidence. They just ask 4 people at the front of the line if they'd like to do it, if not then they ask someone else. Basically try to stay towards the middle lines, when walking up past the props just after entering the queue, and hopefully you'll end up near the top. However, it's not like they just openly ask who wants to be in it, it's more of one CM asking a dad and son or family to do it, and if not just moving to another small group.

Best of luck! And oh yeah, if it's hot outside and you get selected, volunteer to be the mechanic, you'll get a little wet:animwink:

When I was selected, we were at the head of the line. I also had a lavendar beard and hair. I think they thought that I would do anything!

Thanks for the Tips so far. It sounds like you need to be at the head of the line waiting for the next show is the best.

I don't mind getting wet, as my favorite ride is the Kali Raft River ride.

I don't have much hair so dieing it isn't really an option.

I know for Indiana Jones they suggested sitting towards the front and being really animated and loud, which is what I did and I was actually the first one being selected. My Kids and Wife got a big kick out of as well as the people sitting around us. I thinks it's kind of fun too, and something to talk about.

I got picked 4 times for the Backlot Tour. 2 times for the captain, 1 time for mechanic, and 1 time for comic crew (very embarrassing!).

My family got picked once and it was pretty cool. We were lucky and walked up as one show was just going in and they were closing it off before the next show. A CM approached us and i immediatley said yes. I didnt care what my family thought

When we were picked, we just missed the start of the show and there were CMs out front, they asked us and we were a little hesitant, but then said yes. We got to be the deck crew. This woman that was there begged to have the smallest part and she got picked as the engineer and got soaked!! It was a lot of fun.

the only tip i know of for the BTS is to ask the cast member near the entrance who'll escort you to a door. trust me, i have done this many times (and by the way, i almost assume the mechanic role every time)

A group of my friends and I were asked by a CM as we were walking up the queue. We got there a little late, and the show was about to start, so we got to be in the next show.

My parents and i were selected at random, but there also werent many people in the park at this time. I think it helps to be shy and not wanting to be a part of it, because the cast members will do anything that they think will better your experience, even if it means to embarass you.

Just ask.

Simply go to the CM at the greeter position, tell them you'd like to volunteer, and they'll put you in the next available show.

Have a nice trip, the AKL is a beautiful resort!
