Tigger Costume Revealed In Courtroom and News Media Publishes Images

It's official, the Tigger costume has been revealed in the courtroom - unaltered - and news cameras were there to capture it. See images below (as shown on local [Orlando] NBC news program).

I suppose that at this point I should warn that the following images may be considered to be "spoilers" to those who think that displaying the costume in the courtroom is something that "kills the magic."

***EDIT: Due to some negative feedback about showing the news images in this post without providing a "link" to them instead, I decided to go ahead and remove the visible images and instead provide a link to my photo album, which is where they can now be seen. Keep in mind that I may eventually remove the images from the album after this news issue subsides, so look now, or forever hold your peace.

The thread title clearly states that the images have been published, there's a spoiler warning up front, and if you mouse-over the thread title from the News and Rumors page you can read the spoiler warning as well.

I think that's plenty.

If someone doesn't want to view this thread, that's their call. I'm not a big fan of making people go through 9 different links just to view some images.

Thanks to both of you. Though disturbing, it is like a trainwreck you just have to look. By the way, is the defendent in any of the pictures? I see two different guys behind the attorney holding the Tigger outfit.

I think it's horrible for those photos to have been released! Granted it's nothing new to me because I used to work in the magic kingdom, but still... I just can't help but think about any kids that may have been still up while mom and dad watched the news. Or about any kids that are at the breakfast table or something while dad reads the paper and voila right on the front page.

He is the one in the last picture I posted; the one at the bottom of my post.

He's wearing what looks like a dark grey color suit.

This is just really sad to me. Society takes good things and tries to turn them into bad things. The media is handling this the wrong way which I think Disney knew they would and the reason why they wanted to alter the suit to keep the media idiots from doing this. I have never worn the suit, but I can imagine what it is like and it seems like if something truly did get "groped"...it was probably more like a "brush" meaning ACCIDENTAL.

I'm going to assume the court found NO basis for character/livelyhood of the company...to the point they still allowed cameras in the courtroom.

For the sheer fact that more than just a companies 'profits' ride on something like this...

so does the livelyhood of CM's in the parks. All in the name of justice?

Thanks a lot (Orange/Oceola county?) courts! Thanks for considering the kids!

Whats next? Santa Clause on trial for unfair labor acts?

People, it's a friggin costume, get over it. The news shows a hell of a lot worse stuff than that, why should they not show this? I was born and raised at WDW and love it MUCH more than I should, and looking at the pictures are like looking at a costume in a court room, no big deal at all. It's a trial, it's the public's right to know, or to remain ignorant if you choose. I however want to see this as I'm curious about the case, and I have a right to know, and the press should most definitly report it. They should not show the girl who is accusing this man as that's a violation of her privacy, but i have a right to see evidence presented in a court room and I choose to see it. What did you expect to see by the title of this thread? You can't complain about it's content. People downloaded the Nick Berg video and then complain they were sickened, well you know what it's about, and it's your fault if it bothers you, either ignore it, or get over it! And if you're afriad that children are going to be traumatised by seeing the costume in the court room on the news, but not bloodied bodies and buses in Israel, or gun fights in war zones, your perspective of the world is just off. IT'S just a friggin costume, get over it, there is a hell of a lot more stuff going on in the world to get worked up over. If this is the top of your list, take a look in the mirror.

this is a Disney board, we talk Disney. If you wanna compare this to the other things in the news, then yell about it on Yahoo forums.

I'm well aware what this is, and I think it's a fantastic site and check it several time a day. I absolutely love disney, again much more than I should, but i mean how can this sicken you. It's a costume, I've always known it was a costume as long as I can remember. Maybe I grew up grounded. I always knew cartoons were not real, and i could tell that these are costumes. Very nice looking costumes to say the least, high quality and well put together. The case thats going on most definitly involves Disney and thats one of the main reasons I'm interested in it. I happen to love Disney, and I love the law (dad's a lawyer, so grew up on Disney and Law) so combining these 2 I find incredibly interesting. I also want to see the evidence to form my own opinion on the guilt or innocence of this individual. I know very little except what he was accused of, and I think I should be allowed to see every piece of evidence that is presented, and this is clearly important evidence to the case. Even thinking Disney has a right to alter court evidence is rediculous, or saying it shouldnt be shows because a kid might see it is just as bad. And a comparison of murders and explosions, and a courtroom with a costume in terms of whats going to traumatise a kid, there is absolutely no comparison at all. The point is, this is NOT a big deal, or at least it SHOULD NOT be a big deal. If you don't want a kid to see it, hey just don't watch the news. Simple. If YOU don't want to see it, don't go in to a thread talking about it, because what on earth did you expect to see in here?

heh.. we have a lot in common (raised with Disney and Law), and you're right, it ISN'T a big deal. But I deal daily with families who come to Florida who when they flip through the TV tomorrow or read the newspaper will come asking me about it as if I have something to do with this... or the fact that I did that job for years in a previous point in my life. I view the sanctity of the Disney characters as one of the only things left on this planet that through time, through the changes we've experienced as a planet in the last 50 years, are still innocent.

Strip away the innocence from a child, and you have made a failure. This is stripping away at that innocence. That is why this enfuriates me.

tk,

I'll host them for you and make an HTML page featuring them, just to give people a chance to opt out of viewing them, especially since they're in your photo album as well. IM/PM me if you're interested

Sure you never want to strip innocence from a child, but I'd think that if you're young enough to not realise it's not really the embodyment of the character you love, you won't realise what you are seeing on TV, and if you're old enough to know what you're seeing, then you already know that they aren't real and no innocense is lost. I absoluely love Sci-Fi, and i'm a bit disappointed when you see behind the scenes stuff becuase i guess it proves they arent really firing those laser beams, but as soon as I watch the show again, the suspension of disbelief comes right back in. They really are there firing lasers or flying through space in ships, it doesnt really change anything, and in the end I usualy find it pretty interesting to see how things were done.
I don't think that this will really harm anybody, hell in all honesty I didnt even know it had happened until I came here, it's not important enough news to most people to be covered, and I'm only 60 miles away.
