MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure Temporarily Closing in November 2026

According to the Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, along with *Critter Co-Op and Tiana's Bayou General, will be closed starting Monday, November 2, 2026.

No other details have been announced and a reopening date has not yet been shared.

*Edited to strike Critter Co-Op as Disney later removed the merchandise location from the refurbishment calendar.

I mean, this is normal. Lack of seasonal closure during the colder months was abnormal, likely a combination of general newness and the extended refurbishment of Big Thunder.

Wishful thinking, BUT this does say something for the 50’s pneumatic & hydraulic technologies as opposed to the 21st century technologies that don’t seem to respond as well under wet & humid conditions…when it’s all said & done, this will go down as the worst TWDC disaster since the great non-working Yeti…at least one has a potential good future….

It’s a much needed refurb, in both the sense it skipped the usual winter refurbs the past few years, and whatever is happening with the AAs.

The ride is in horrendous condition. Rode it last week and hardly anything was working.

So not only did they rip out the Magic Kingdoms premiere attraction, they let the way less impressive replacement fall into total disrepair.

I assume that they’ll just fix up the animatronics but I’m hoping that they actually add empty in places that need them, fill in the blank spots.

First priority is to just get everything working reliably. Whatever they need to do, fix AAs, replace AAs, as well as bringing back all of the effects that haven’t worked in forever.

However, I do agree that this ride needs more ‘stuff’ in it. There are parts of this ride where there is nothing to look at, especially that one section where Tiana sits pretty much lifeless until the boat is upon her and then she comes to life.

They could have made a great Tiana attraction. However, the storyline is kinda ridiculous and almost every AA is unreliable. I mean, I love the music, and the queue is nice, but after that? Yuck!

Splash is a newer attraction, it only opened in the 90s.
