I don’t think the cost of projection mapping is the most paramount issue at the Disney parksHow many months will that last before it’s retired as too expensive to maintain?
No it’s not by I don’t see the point in putting effects like this in when Disney has a horrible record of maintaining lighting effects on buildings that aren’t a park icon or part of a night show. (HM’s moving candle, popcorn lights on GF/MSUSA, etc.)I don’t think the cost of projection mapping is the most paramount issue at the Disney parks
See now what would’ve been cool would be to have water shoot out of the tank aimed at the drop…OR have it leak/spit water at the guests the way the camels do…I am fine with Tiana...I am fine with New Orleans, I am baffled by "Tiana's Foods" and the water tower....
A totally over-reaching storyline which feels completely inauthentic.
My guess is that they are going to take us on a tour of Tiana's Foods and while on the tour the Water Tower leaks/busts open causing a flood/waterfall that we have to go down to get out. That's the only explanation I can come up with for why they are making a big deal out of the water tower...I am fine with Tiana...I am fine with New Orleans, I am baffled by "Tiana's Foods" and the water tower....

What if they rethemed it to the muppets having an adventure in the swamp with Kermit? I’m a die-hard splasher but that’s one thing I could get behindWhere I go walking, I would like to put an anamitronic Kermit singing the Rainbow Connection when it floods. But, Id be voted down on that one.
So… Catastrophe Canyon? My guess is that they are going to take us on a tour of Tiana's Foods and while on the tour the Water Tower leaks/busts open causing a flood/waterfall that we have to go down to get out. This suggested plot line reminds me of Universal's backlot tour where they have the "flash flood"...My guess is that they are going to take us on a tour of Tiana's Foods and while on the tour the Water Tower leaks/busts open causing a flood/waterfall that we have to go down to get out. It would be cool, but there’s no way there’s enough time to get this change accomplished.Regardless of the story line, having an effect like that within a log flume ride would be really awesome!
Not only that, it’s impossible because there are 3 logs on the lift at a time, and no way to run the effect and reset. It would be cool, but there’s no way there’s enough time to get this change accomplished.
To quote Jim Hill…How many months will that last before it’s retired as too expensive to maintain?
If they had water shooting out of the water tower, it would work for a week and they would install a strobe light and the MK will also have a “disco” effect…How many months will that last before it’s retired as too expensive to maintain?
Why, guests would watch the riders getting hit with the water cannons when they worked…Also, the tower is on full display to anyone who walks by. If it’s meant to “break” and flood everytime a log goes by, this effect would be running all day nonstop. Anyone walking by would have seen it at least 8 times before even getting in a queue. These effects are only effective when the rider doesn’t see it coming. It would be very sloppy if this “surprise” was out on display.
