Tony Baxter must be rolling in his bed.
Tony Baxter was a creative advisor on this attraction and I doubt he had any real input. Imagineering probably showed him all their ideas and designs and he felt he couldn’t say anything negative so he just would smile and say “oh yea that’s good”.
Not when you get the opportunity to talk privately….Tony is notoriously quiet and I honestly expect it to stay that way. He's hard to get ahold of on purpose.
I would think so, the Disney company has already neutered two of his most iconic attractionsMore like crying buckets of tears….

So I've read from someone who was there the night they filmed it that they set up cameras in three different logs. I've also been reading that the ride has been shutting down frequently and there is already a YouTube video out there of an evac.
Pair these together and I'm thinking most of the jump cuts were due to either log backups or breakdowns. You'll notice the video starts at dusk but is completely dark at the end. The footage is probably multiple ride-throughs from multiple cameras trying to get the best full ride-through they could. However, there is footage from other YouTubers who made it through the ride in one take, so tough to say for sure.
Disney clearly didn't want to spend money obtaining cameras like the ones you see from YouTubers that can capture really good low light. Those are the ones I look forward to.
Conspiracy Theory: They left Dr. Facilier off the ride knowing the majority of negative reviews would complain about the lack of his presence thereby allowing them to add him in the 11th hour with no fear of twitter mob coming for them as they can point to all the YouTube comments. The people have spoken and Dr. Facilier is really not all that problematic. This theory would also explain why the final lift hill is so lackluster.
More of a general observation..
It kinda bothers me, especially with how great these modern AA’s look, that their movements look silly and overly exaggerated. When you break it down, all they’re doing is aggressively flaring their arms as they talk. Reminds me of those inflatable tube balloons.
It’s not a problem exclusive to just Tiana’s, it’s there in Fantasy Springs too and a lot of other modern AA’s.
Would much rather have them look like they’re walking along with us, or engaging in some type of unique way.
How bad were you expecting it to be, that this is an improvement from your expectations?Overall, it’s definitely better than I expected although from my thoughts you may think otherwise,I really do respect it for what it is.
After seeing the finished product, I doubt they even excluded him for the reasons of him being dead. Ray is dead too, but they used his vocals in one of the songs. I don't think they even cared about the logistics, they just didn't want to include Facilier. Either because they're worried he's problematic, or because they just didn't want anything in the ride to come across as frightening, or both.the lack of Facilier is just painful. he's also one of my favorite disney guys. I know he's 'dead' but they easily could've BS'd it and said "somehow, Facilier returned" and his presence would have given the ride SOME kind of story. maybe HE turns you small for whatever reason, then right before the drop, you and him are taken up by his friends on the other side, then you're dropped to safety and yayyyy big final scene everyone's okay yayy it's a party.
I watched it a couple times already. If we were going to the parks this summer, I would have refrained from watching.Just curious - I don’t think I can post a poll - how many of you will eschew spoilers (ride through videos, descriptions) until you experience it in person for yourself?
I really liked the animatronics. I am happy Disney moved away from the Frozen Animatronics.I love the animatronics and sets of Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Unsure about the story so far, it looks like it's constant celebration and lacking the wider range of emotions from the previous Splash Mountain. And while Iike what I've heard so far of the new finale song, I'll admit it doesn't compare to Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, which is one of the most famous songs of all time.
I'm still looking forward to the ride.
Haha should've said he's hard to get ahold of for public comments. I'd love to sit and listen to anything and everything he feels like talking about. Not when you get the opportunity to talk privately….
He has a lot to say, about a great many things.
He really needs to make time for that proposed book of his…
The stories he can tell…marvelous and insightful.

Yes.I heard the ride was breaking down a lot? Is that just fake news?
I presumed in the 16 months or so it was closed, in addition to the re skin, they also refurbished the ride system?
Good to know. Nothing worse that something that is basically new in the parks breaking or not working.Haha should've said he's hard to get ahold of for public comments. I'd love to sit and listen to anything and everything he feels like talking about.
