I think Universal has the potential to be a really great themepark,
I do enjoy some of their attractions more than Disney's, but I do think Disney reigns supreme. I enjoy T2:3d more than the Muppets or Honey I Shrunk the Audience plus with Shrek 4D i'm sure it will be top notch, I hear off the clock Imagineers are working on it. Back to the Future is much more realistic than Star Tours or Body Wars, Spiderman is probably one of the best rides
I've ever been on, but I think it will have alot of competition with Mission Space when it opens. I am curious to see details for the new Mummy attraction, I think it will be similar to the Indiana Jones Adventure, in Disneyland. Perhaps it will be the first motionbase coaster, but we'll have to wait and see. Mabye what Universal needs to do is take out Earthquake put in a Harry potter attraction and then right Behind Back to the Future and Men In Black put a ride based on the Lord of the Rings!

Before my CM time, I really enjoyed Universal more, since I've always been into movies. But the brainwashing worked pretty well, and I got to see all the tiny differences between them that regular Guests came to notice on their own. Also, lately, Universal has been doing some moves that disappointed me, like killing Kong and Hanna-Barbera.

All in all, I wouldn't visit Orlando without reserving a couple of days for Universal and IoA, unless on an "urgent" trip.

Universal Studios was a good park - but then they "made improvements" and closed down Ghostbusters, Kongfrontation to name but a few. Now its a very disappointing and is in need of a major overhaul to continue to exist. Not that I'm complaining - I enjoy The Studios at WDW much more.

I really like that park and IOA! I think it's more of a theme park for teens. I'm 1 and I love it almost more than Disney. OK so maybe not! lol I think that if you really take your time at Universal and experience everything and pay attention to details you enjoy it so much more! My only complaint is Back to the Future. Ow! It hurts if you sit in the back you really get jerked around!

Back to the future needs to go. That's the only ride I won't go on, and I'll basically go on anything. If you sit in the front it's not too bad, but in the back with the low ceiling... Ouch!

BTTF leave??

I really hope not! It's one on my all-time fav's!

The theming is beautifully done, and it's actually quite realistic if you think about it...

Do you really expect a time-traveling Delorean to have the smoothest ride in the world? :animwink:

Well, since it's a time-traveling Delorean, I would think it WOULD have the smoothest ride in the world. They could just drive it to the future and get a better tune up...

The movie is realistic (except for that dinosaur), and it is a good ride, but is is painful. Maybe it needs a rehab. Smoother simulators and more padding for when you bump your head!

Personally, I would have rather universal get ride of back to the future and keep Kongfrontation...

I really hated that Kong left ...

For me though, if it was between BTTF and Kong, Kong had to go.

What about Earthquake or Kong? I definately would have prefered that Kong stayed!

I like the first two, and sdon't care for Dinosaur, Jurassic Park is WAY better, not only for the fall, but for the whole scare factor. Dinosaur is just a rough ride in the dark, and you scarcely see a dino. As for the sims, it's not because they're old an that there's something state of the art next door that automatically I'll rule them "bad attractions". If anything, they're good for introducing a first-timer to sims. First Body Wars, then Star Tours, then the late Hanna-Barbera and finally BTTF, the best one of all. Now, of course, there's Spider-Man above BTTF on the list. :)

I used to enjoy Universal Studios years ago, and had just been back this past Feb. I was extremely disappointed.

The King Kong ride was broken and we couldn't go on it for hours, then when we could I totally understood why, its ripping apart at the seams. And now I learn that its been totally closed down.

I adore the work of Alfred Hitchcock and I remember his show being a lot more interesting. And now i learn that they've closed that one down too.

I remember Earthquake being a lot more exciting.

I bumped my head SOOO hard on The Back to the Future Ride.

Twister was terrible!!!!!

Jaws scared and grossed me out!

The coasters at IoA are just that.... coasters, big deal! Just because a coaster is painted green doesn't make it The Hulk.

Spiderman and MIB were the only things worthwhile there and I'm not paying 50 bucks a pop for two measly rides.

Very disappointing, I wouldn't go there again.

ah no you misunderstood...they said that they had back problems with back to the future a motion simulator. which star tours and body wars is and dinosaur is a kind of motion simulator.
