Things I Miss At Epcot

1. Horizons
2. Journey into Imagination - the whole concept including the ride, upstairs access, and ImageWorks
3. Maelstrom
4. World of Motion
5. Fountain of Nations
6. The bazaars in Morocco
7. Tangierine Cafe as a QS rather than festival kiosk
8. Universe of Energy
9. Mouse Gear
10. Fibre optic paving
11. Communicore West (for the symmetry)
12. A decent menu and dessert case at Sunshine Seasons
13. Restaurant Marrakesh
14. The full menu at Spice Road Table
15. Subtle lighting on Spaceship Earth and what is now Celebration Gardens and Communicore Hall. It's all much too LED piercing-bright.
16. Central hub without a disco and dance party music.

I'd like to say Wonders of Life however I never experienced it! It came and went between visits.

Restaurant Marrakesh was GREAT! High quality food and we got a little show to watch with the dancer.

If I remember correctly, Disney EVICTED the folks running the restaurant during the pandemic.

They were evicted for non payment of rent. They didn't pay anything during the Covid shutdown.

Fountain of Nations is the worst thing Disney has removed because there was no need to remove it - it’s not like that planter is utilizing the space any better.

And all the fiber optics in the sidewalk - funny how they worked for so long!!!!

Oh I remember that!!! It was good.

They wouldn’t dare!!!!
During the pandemic they had a supply issue with cod, etc…since they raise tilapia at LwtL, they were substituting it…I kid you NOT…they are also cichlids that I used to raise in my aquarium…nope, never liked them..

Every time I go there with my dad he tells me about the video screens where you could make dinner reservations. He still can't get over how cool that was at the time.
This would be something Disney could easily integrate into the app. Allow you to FaceTime with a cast member to help with reservations. It would take what was a futuristic concept back in 1982 into something that's a modern amenity that could better help visitors.

3. Life Pavilion: Body Wars and Cranium Command were very enjoyable.
4. Fountain of Nations
5. The space station and descent in Spaceship Earth.
6. Maelstrom (although the industrial ending was always a bit out of place).

Are there are any IPs that have come and gone that people are missing? Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Meet n Greets, wandering characters, Barbie etc. Everything so far has been EPCOT originals.

[IPs in this instance meaning properties that existed and were known outside the realm of EPCOT before they were introduced to EPCOT.]

Exactly.

I can imagine what the meeting with Disney was like - disclaimer, not based on fact -

"This is A BUSINESS, We are the landlord, you are the tenant. You want to stay you must pay rent even if we closed the park and you cant make any money. We have waited for the MONEY long enough. You may think we are partners, and you think you bring value and synergy to the world showcase, we do not think so. PAY OR YOU ARE OUT."

I don't think anyone's mentioned this. Unless I've missed it, and I certainly understand why this may not have been mentioned. But I really liked the Captain EO show. I was such a huge fan of Michael Jackson in the 80s. I do understand why it had to go, and have no issues with that, and it probably would have eventually needed to go anyway, as it would have outlived itself.

Its encore run should not have been replaced with the current Magic Eye occupant.
