I've been doing this thing for a while over in the /r/disneyland Discord where I make custom maps in which only the things that are actually operating and visible are presented on the maps. I have a ton of fun with it, so I figured I'd share them over here. Starting off with today's, where a ton of things closed starting today.
MONDAY.png

For instance, the items closed are Jungle Cruise, "it's a small world", The Disney Gallery, Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, The Briar Patch, and Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow. In short, anything that has walls up, is under refurb/retheme, or does not have PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE elements (IE abandoned buildings, track, or certain exclusive buildings) is also removed as this is the map for the GP. This rules out the Peoplemover track, the Launch Bay, Tiana's, the Main Street Station, Fantasyland Theater, etc. What do y'all think? Should I continue doing these?

The absence of the Disneyland Railroad is very upsetting. On the other hand, if the carousel theater in Tomorrowland were actually replaced with a patch of grass, I’d be all for it.
The railroad has to go, it isn't open 🤷‍♀️
And yeah the carousel theater can happily go die

God, what a bad time to visit Disneyland.

I love to see attractions getting TLC (especially after the neglect of the covid era), but yeah it’s putting a lot of pressure on the rest of the park. Pooh had a 40 minute wait last Saturday! That’s 8 times its typical wait!

It's ok, though, because the 70th will be the best it's ever looked.

Let’s hope so!

The Columbia is back... but it's not really a noticeable change. I guess the next time you'll really be able to see a difference is when Disney Gallery reopens Tuesday

Hey, it’s the kind of thing a dork like me notices.

I still remember watching Monsters Inc. years ago and shouting at the tv, “Is that a Sailing Ship Columbia poster in this kid’s bedroom!?!” You can imagine my then-girlfriend’s reaction.

Jungle Cruise has reopened! I for one am excited to see the changes, hopefully to the tiger scene.

Just checked YouTube and surprisingly nobody has posted a video yet. Get your crap together vloggers! But I did find an old black and white video of a Jungle Cruise ride through that I have never seen with Thurl Ravenscroft narrating and some nice music in the background. So relaxing like an old timey baseball commentator calling a baseball game.

It occurred to me while watching the video that we don’t go under or through enough things on the Jungle Cruise. Seems that before they had more branches that went right over the river. I’d like to see. Proper finale on the Jungle Cruise. They can build a little temple we go through after we pass the falls. Nothing really noteworthy happens between the backside of water and the gift shop. Also they really phoned it in with the monkeys with butterflies during the last revamp. The chimps on the boat are fine but they should have done something else with following scene.

Freshbaked shared this earlier today -

Its still the same for now. I expected as much as it wasn't down long enough for them to completely fix the temple.
