Curious to see what happens to the patio. Wdw lacks outdoor seating compared to DL (weather is obviously a factor) but would definitely be a nice option in cooler months here

The Turf Club Lounge at Saratoga Springs reopens August 31, 2026, running 4:00pm to 11:00pm with lounge fare until 10:00pm. The Bar & Grill stays closed through late September, so the lounge is your only Turf Club dining option for now.

How is this an improvement? The old space was much more warm, relaxed, and homey. We’ve lost the pool table it seems and gained Disney’s very favorite thing, a bar in a space not designed to hold one. And the new carpet is absolutely hideous. All-in-all, the transformation of a unique, comfortable space with some character to another generic hotel environment.

Sorry - but this new space compared to the old is not bad. Yes, the old space was cozy and lived in. But this space is a vast improvement, updated for the modern era while still having the jockey / horse racing touches and lots of places to relax and lounge. Even the lighting was kept from the old decor. As for the carpeting, while yes it is different, it is still unique and "busy enough" to give the room a similar feel as the old carpeting.

I'm a Disney purist and hard on Disney most of the time when it comes to these modern hotel and guest room updates. However, I cant be upset with this update.

I didn’t mean it should be a singles bar.

But SSR is our home resort so we’ve been to the Turf Club Lounge countless times. It’s really never been a place “with games for families.” There was a pool table but the few times we saw it used they were adults.

Even Disney thinks it’s a “casual bar” with a “bar-lounge” menu.

And the space was most definitely used as a bar. Its location at the end of the building didn’t draw a lot of walk-through traffic.

All I meant was that Disney draws a lot of single visitors or adults who go out after the younger ones are settled. Seating at the bar encourages talking to one another more than individual tables.

Plus you got to find a way to bring some of these places into the 21st century.

They can’t stay the same forever and need tastefully done updates every now and then.

This seems like one of those cases while it has modern touches it tries to maintain some of the resorts character.

IMO, it seems a bit of both opinions. It looks nice, but a bit Marriott from the images posted online.

I also, not sure how to say, don't feel like WDW needed another bar. Except this is one of few places I've never actually visited at WDW, and I always assumed form the name that it had a bar, so of all places, Turf Bar and Club is maybe the place to put a cocktail bar.

It is just, in general, I'd like to see WDW move away from adding more cocktail bars into something truly different for WDW. A place that offers a nice selection of non-alcoholic drinks that aren't just sugary junk. Most of the time, when I walk by most of WDW's bars, there are a few people, but also plenty of open seats. WDW could really use something unique like a smoothie place.

In general, adding more cocktail bars seems a bit redundant. The unique ones in the parks, like Oga's and Beak and Barrel were popular novelties, but now the newness has worn off they aren't nearly so busy.

Meanwhile, itis getting harder and harder to find fresh produce and healthy things to eat at WDW.

WDW could also try something unique like a proper bubble tea stand. WDW could also really use something like a proper fruit smoothie bar. I'd love if say CR or Beach Club had a real smoothie place sorta like Jamba Juice.

Multiple Universal hotels have amazing fresh fruit/yogurt/chia buffets in the morning. Getting a cup of plump, sweet blueberries at Surfside made our day! Then we spent 4 days at WDW. Most of the QS were even out of Cuties this visit.

I feel like we now have little choice but to buy our own groceries when we visit WDW.

Menus have gotten smaller and smaller across the resort and often the cuts are fresh and healthy options.

This has been made worse with menus having “impossible” items being the one vegetarian option available.

It’s way worse at Disneyland though… it’s honestly hard for me to find anything I want to eat in the parks. Plaza and Tianas are about it for QS.
