The Tomorrowland we should have gotten

The Imagineering archives are filled with what ifs like this. It's a shame that with all this creativity, we end up getting what we have today. All about the $$ I guess.

It looks better than what's there now, but I don't particularly care for this aesthetic. It still has a slapped-together look. Even in Fantasyland where they blended all these different architectural styles, it's somehow cohesive. Tomorrowland just looks like a bunch of crap.

Those arm things on the track would look horrible, and the overall aesthetic would age horribly.

Those arms are suppose to be robot arms giving a flight jet pack experience like Harry Potter.

And they look ridiculous. They work best in an indoor environment where you can't actually see the mechanism from the loading area.

I like the spinning robot arm things. If everyone is wearing a VR helmet it could be pretty amazing.
I definitely like the use of fountains everywhere.

If by "amazing" you mean, vomit-inducing, then I totally agree! There would be fountains everywhere, for sure! At least, from me.

Has some promise but still looks like it could become dated. It either needs to go for more of a Tron or Xandar look, or pull a WDW and just re-embrace the retro 70s Tomorrowland vibe....the Tomorrow that never was but will always be.

More natural looking landscaping would definitely be a plus. I don't know why every vision of the future seems to include so much inhospitable concrete!

I wish they still had Rocket Rods. I remember seeing some ridiculous tween concert on the Disney Channel years ago and as they videotaped it in Disney Land's new Tomorrowland, you could see these odd vaguely futuristic vehicles passing by in the background on an elevated trackway. Like that time I encountered an extremely attractive androgynous person dressed as Draco Malfoy, I had no idea what it was, but I wanted to find out.

The straightaways were great fun with just enough thrill. They just didn't last long enough. Made the land look cool though.

I imagine it's like the original Ray Parker Jr. version of Ghostbusters and the Run D.M.C. version from Ghostbusters II. One is more iconic, the other more exciting, but both are perfectly valid and enjoyable in their own way.
