One Little Spark...
Challenge 10
Around the World in 11 Seconds

This week, competitors are obligated to create a new ride for Epcot’s World Showcase at Walt Disney World. You are to design a ride to fit into one of the existing countries and to be held within your chosen country's existing plot. This ride must be a roller coaster, and we are expecting them to go very fast. Remember that this is the final five, and we are expecting these rides to be top notch. We are looking for an attraction that is concealed and fills in the World Showcase skyline and peaks above the park. But it must conceal an attraction that goes at bullet speeds while also thoroughly connecting with the nation's culture.

The Soundtrack
The area in the UK Pavilion will have a custom ambient soundtrack. This music will play softly in a continuous loop, in and around the gift shop, ride building and exterior ride queue areas. It's a collection of epic themes and songs from many seasons (series) of Doctor Who, and it pays homage to some of the memorable music which helped make the show a success.

(For you to listen to while reading)

The track list includes:

The Story

The galaxy and all of existence is in peril.
Our timeline, as we know it, is threatened.
Only one man, who is more than a man, can stop it,
But, he needs your help.

daleks-and-cybermen-doctor-who-wallpaper.jpg

The Cult of Skaro has been resurrected by Dalek Sec, who managed to survive the destruction of the Crucible (For reference, watch Season 4, Episode 12 - "The Stolen Earth" and Season 4, Episode 13 - "Journey's End").

During his recovery, Dalek Sec managed to find a crashed TARDIS on an abandoned and forgotten planet.

In an attempt to discover the secrets of the Time Circuit, the Cult of Skaro has enlisted the military might of the Cybermen. Their goal is to create a dimensional army that will march across the galaxy and across time itself, "deleting" and "exterminating" inferior life, until only superior forms exist across the whole of eternity.

But, they have been met with little success. While they have been able to utilize the technology to pass through time, they can't direct exactly when they want to arrive. However, they have been successful in guiding where they will arrive. As a result, they have been focused on Gallifrey, as they need a working unit to copy the technology properly.

They plan to steal a TARDIS from Gallifrey during the Golden Age of the Time Lords. These TARDIS ships need to be removed from Gallifrey and stored in a safe and secure location quickly to prevent this act of theft.

The Doctor has enlisted you!

Peter_Capaldi_cost_2803858b.jpg

Reaching out through his past incarnations, the Doctor has sought capable people to help him find and recover all the remaining TARDIS ships from Gallifrey. You, as recruits, must escape through the Time Vortex and hide the TARDIS ships on a relatively unknown moon of a planet called Trenzalore, until the Doctor can return the the TARDIS ships to their place in time and continuity to restore the proper order of events.

The Genesis

For the past five decades, Doctor Who has been mostly a UK phenom, entertaining adults and children alike. While originally conceived as an educational childrens' program, with the 2005 series reboot, the show has had unforeseen international success.

As a result, the BBC approached Disney, and they have decided to collaborate on a joint venture to bring a unique and exciting experience to EPCOT's UK pavilion, as it is both culturally relevant and capitalizes on this property.

The BBC owns only the distribution rights for Doctor Who. The Intellectual Property rights discussion becomes more in depth considering the characters themselves are also individually trademarked and owned by the creators, not by the BBC as a whole.

Therefore, Disney will not own and/or wholly control this ride or experience. Rather, the BBC will lease the physical property from Disney, and tap Disney talent for design and operations.

Disney Imagineering will have significant input, but not sole final say, outside of the exterior buildings and other property requirements (compatibility with FP+, and future enhancements, etc.). This is purely a cooperative venture.

This is not uncommon at Epcot, nor in World Showcase. Pavilion sponsors and restaurant vendors are commonly tapped for financial support, while Imagineers make the "magic", and Disney runs the daily operations.

The BBC maintains ownership and reimbursement negotiation rights for the Intellectual Property, and negotiates (as it has already for every episode) the proper royalty payments.

As a result, some of the profits of the Pavilion Enhancement go to Disney as rent and operations support for the ride and venue, and the rest go to the BBC, for them to split up among the various trademark holders as required by their contracts. Disney will not be involved in those negotiations directly.

___________________________________________________________________________________

The Pavilion

The UK Pavilion at Epcot's World Showcase is one of the most uniquely detailed offerings at Walt Disney World. The quaint shops and buildings, unique dining, and fantastic garden areas are a treat for all. The challenge is to keep this unique theme, while also layering in facades that are to proper scale, include amazing detail, and uniquely reflect the UK.

As a result, two famous London landmarks will be added to the pavilion, towards the rear: The Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben) and Westminster Abbey. Both of these are not unique to the Doctor Who show, but that is not the intent.

Rather, the intent is to make an addition to the pavilion and the World Showcase skyline that is fitting and appropriate, with enough architectural details to make them enticing and attractive to Guests and have them fit in with the Pavilion as a whole.

8729011_orig.jpg

Due to the nature of the ride height, the actual ride building facade will utilize forced perspective to achieve grandeur and keep scale. In addition, the actual ride footings will be twenty feet below ground level. This allows for the ride building to literally be "bigger on the inside" (yes, another nod to Doctor Who), without having a large structure that breaks the current scale of the rest of the pavilion. There is more detail on this in the Queue section.

The ride building itself is located at the back of the United Kingdom pavilion at Epcot. The current stage area will still exist, however, the gardens around and behind it will be expanded with pathways that lead to the queue. This keeps the theme while approaching the ride consistent throughout the area, without removing existing attraction / entertainment space.

In order for this location to work in this setting, pathways will need to be enhanced to allow for the increased foot traffic, and they will be widened to accommodate large crowds and flocks of Doctor Who fans expected to come experience this brand-new attraction. Cobblestone will be extended all the way past the gift shop, and garden pathways will have new stone walkways.

15261576930_bafae2bb18_o.png

Directly next to the attraction is the gift shop. It is situated so that Guests coming off the ride will flow through the interior and Guests walking to or from the general area will pass it. Also, people coming in or out of the International Gateway will see the gift shop before they enter the heart of the park and this will help encourage them to purchase items.
Other pavilion enhancements will include:

Rose and Crown
  • The "Sonic Screwdriver" Cocktail - Vodka, Fresh Squeezed Pulpy Orange Juice and a splash of Mango Juice
  • The "Bigger on the Inside" Cocktail - Vodka, Amaretto, Limoncello and a splash of Creme de Fram served with skewered fresh raspberries
  • The "TARDIS Blue" Cocktail - A frozen blueberry / blackberry juice cocktail available in virgin or splashed with Rum.
  • The 11th Doctor's Fish Sticks and Custard Dessert - For the less brave, this dessert features butter cookie dough "breaded" in cinnimon graham crackers and served with a rich vanilla rum pudding in a chocolate crumb cookie "bowl".
Yorkshire County Fish Shop
  • The 11th Doctor's Fish Sticks and Custard - Breaded white fish filets coated in Panko Breadcrumbs and fried. Served with "TARDIS sauce" (custard) that has hints of Dill and, mustard and lemon juice.
The Toy Soldier and Crown and Crest
These shops will NOT carry Dr. Who or BBC branded Merchandise,
but will add one of the Doctor's favorites to their candy offerings, Jelly Babies.

General Pavilion
  • Two Police Box TARDISes will be added. One outside the new Gift Shop, and another near the Post Box towards the rear of the Pavilion, both themed after the current Doctor's TARDIS. These are for photo opportunities, and will be designed to have interactive elements which can be activated with Magicbands.
  • Doctor Who will become a walk around character and make Meet and Greet appearances in the same rotation as Alice and Mary Poppins. While all the Doctors will be available at various times, the primary Doctors featured will be the 4th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. In addition, a remotely controlled K-9 will make trips around the UK Pavilion at random times, with a "companion" of course!
  • The Annual Christmas Special will be aired in the Stage Area as a special ticket viewing opportunity. During these viewing times, the area will be roped off and food catered by Rose and Crown, as well as a temporary bar set up in the area for drinks (housed in a small building to be constructed behind the Crown and Crest gift shop). Traffic for the ride will be routed through the Garden Area to the back, with the temporary queue entrance facing the main road behind The Toy Soldier. In addition, all 13 Doctors plus K-9, the War Doctor, Sontaran Commander Strax, a Cyberman and two Daleks will make various meet and greet appearances during this special event.

The Details
Doctor Who: Escape through the Vortex is a modern tube steel coaster design. This choice allows for a thrilling and fast ride experience, while utilizing tested technologies and capabilities. This will speed up ride design and construction time, to allow the Pavilion Enhancement to open on a rapid time table. However, this is not simply a bare steel coaster. There are visual elements to this coaster that are unique, which will be discussed in the Ride section.

Track Length - 3339.47 ft
Max Height - 90.22 ft
Number of Trains - 2 trains
Train Length - 10 cars
Car Capacity - 4 people
Ride Length - 2:20 second from load to unload
Reload Time - 40 seconds
Hourly Capacity - 800 per hour
Max Speed - 62 mph
Rider Height Requirement - 48 inches

15261717619_91c3a524ae_o.png

The ride will utilize a traditional vehicle, painted a dull black. The vehicle is highlighted with blue LED strips along the side, as well as iridescent flecks of paint. The vehicle will also include a state of the art 3D sound system, positioned near the rider's ears to allow for clear soundtrack and ambient story elements (which will be told on-ride with sound, more details in the Ride section).

The track additionally features one inversion and many steeply banked turns, including a "vortex" helix loop effect near the end where top speed and G-forces are achieved. The inversion is a barrel roll maneuver that occurs about 1/3 of the way through the ride, at near 3/4 max speed and at a downward slope of 250 degrees.

Final design and construction will be managed by Vekoma Rides Manufacturing.

___________________________________________________________________________________

The Hedges (Exterior Queue)

The ride building, itself, is themed as Westminster Abbey and the Elizabeth Tower. As Guests approach the building, they will pass around the current stage area, and into a garden path with a laid stone walkway. The gardens will be well kept, and have seasonal flowers blooming and sculpted hedges. As they reach the end of the path, it will fork into three directions, leading them to one of three hedge mazes. Guests can choose which maze they enter depending on their preference of three Doctors from the show.

5957078_orig.png

This is also where FP+ lines will begin, and bands / reservations will be checked. Guests will be directed by a cast member into one of the three hedge lines depending on wait metrics that are provided on screen in real-time utilizing the Magic Band's Bluetooth capabilities. Though of course, if a Guest wishes to request a specific line, the Cast Members would gladly direct them there.

This is the first queue to have been designed from the ground up to fully utilize the Magicband Bluetooth and RFID Touch abilities. As Guests pass through the maze that leads them to the Westminster building, various interactive things will occur based on proximity. For example, keep an eye on the statues on the walls of Westminster Abbey. They may move, so don't BLINK! (For the reference, watch Season 3, Episode 10 - "Blink")

Other examples include interactive plant life, such as creeping vines, and if you listen carefully, you might even hear friends of the Doctor through the hedges as they make their way to meet him. Sontaran Strax can be heard cursing this maze, and asking Madame Vastra and Jenny Flint why he can't just blast their way through. Captain Jack Harkness and Martha Jones can likewise be heard making their way through the maze talking about you by name, and how important you are to the mission!

___________________________________________________________________________________

The TARDIS (Primary Queue)

As guests round the final corner of the maze, they are presented with the famous blue Police Box in a small courtyard. Here a Cast Member (ahem... Companion) will direct Guests inside, where they will discover that the TARDIS truly is... bigger on the inside.

box.jpg

This effect is created by the TARDIS box being pushed up against the hedge row, which allows for the TARDIS itself to seemingly open up into a larger room, contained inside the Westminster Abbey facade of the much bigger ride building.

Guests are ushered into a TARDIS Control Room, around the central TARDIS control console. Here, they are presented with a high quality animatronic Doctor (think Mr. Lincoln). Guests are kept outside of arms' reach of the animatronic by the handrails that wrap around the TARDIS central deck.

a273a1afd488ea7b3d7f009dc43b9da4.jpg

As guests enter, the Doctor will greet some of them with random canned expressions which are customized by their Magicbands. For example, the Doctor will say "Hi, John, and welcome. Of course I know it's you, I am a Time Lord, you know!" and "Yes, Francine, I know it's bigger on the inside. Isn't it spectacular? Do you like what I've done with the place?"

Due to this simple customization, Guests will experience an interactive animatronic as never before seen. Consultants from Madame Tussaud's in London will be brought in, as well as costuming and set designers from the BBC, to ensure that the experience is wholly immersive and completely true to the show. As part of cooperation, Russell T. Davies will produce and co-write all scripts from here on forward. Original actors will be brought in to voice the roles, compensated in part by the BBC and in part by Disney.

Each of the three Tardis Rooms will be dedicated to a different Doctor: at opening, the 10th, 11th and 12th Doctors. This way, each time you enter the queue, you'll get a different experience depending on which hedge maze you chose.

15262162829_69bce67797_o.png

After the indoor "Police Box" doors close, Guests are presented with a short presentation by the Doctor where he welcomes them to his TARDIS in a jovial manner. However, towards the end, he gets far more serious. "We're here," he says gravely. "The place I thought I'd not be back to in a long while, in a time that many will not remember. My home, Gallifrey. I need your help, the universe needs your help, all of time needs your help. Please proceed through the doors, and I will elaborate through the video screens. Thank you, and good luck!"

The TARDIS, in reality, is a self contained room sized elevator. This elevator will take Guests down in a slow spiral, until they have rotated 180 degrees and have reached the two-story-deep basement. As mentioned before, this allows for the actual ride building to have a much smaller above-ground facade, while offering ample interior height for the largest lift hills.

8417250_orig.png

Also, the "corkscrew" serves to help disorient Guests, as they will exit the same doors they entered through.

___________________________________________________________________________________

The Gallifrey Hanger Deck (Secondary Queue)

At this point, all three TARDIS queues reunite for a secondary series of switchbacks. From this point forward, Guests will be informed of the rest of their mission (as outlined in this post in the Story section). While the host will be the 12th Doctor, other Doctor's from every season will make cameos, as the current Doctor calls upon them for advice and assistance.

(if listening to the soundtrack, you may wish to pause it for now)

The room is large and gray, but sparkles as if coated with shards of glass. Custom lighting will ensure that, while it is a dark queue, guests are also impressed with the simple and alien nature of the TARDIS hanger bay on Gallifrey.

maxresdefault.jpg

Additionally, non-riders who have had the option to experience the interactive queue with their families up until this point will be ushered into a small room off the exit queue.

This small waiting room for non-riders will be just off of the photo pickup area, and will contain a few video game consoles playing the latest Doctor Who XBox Video Game, the Eternity Clock. It will also contain a few touchscreen exhibits with Doctor Who Flash based video games and trivia games, and a small TV viewing area where guests can experience a cycling playlist of the best of Doctor Who. Guests may either wait here for riders to finish, or may continue on to the gift shop through the Post Show Queue.

The Ride

Doctor Who: Escape through the Vortex features high quality 3D audio used to help tell the story. In addition, the ride features 4 different soundtrack options, that will rotate randomly. There are also limited static set effects, and a significant number of lighting effects. The building itself will be kept dark, outside of these lighting effects.

Guests depart the loading station from Gallifrey in their TARDIS, ready for their escape through the Vortex, and The TARDIS begins to climb the Time Lift (The Lift Hill) and the Guests hear the groaning, grunting and ringing sounds of the TARDIS traveling through Space and Time.

At the top of the Time Lift, we hear the Doctor exclaim, "We need to get away, and fast! Hurry!"

The vehicle races down a drop and begins to climb a second hill where we hear a Dalek voice over the transmission radio, "STOP! You should comply! COMPLY!"

Daleks pipe in with their roaring, "EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!" But at the top of the lift hill, The Doctor says, "This isn't so hard to do, just press the knobs and buttons!"

The TARDIS zips through many hills, drops and turns before the vehicle reaches a fourth lift. We hear the Daleks screaming, "EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!" We also hear the Cyberman exclaiming, "They have the TARDIS we need, follow them!"

The TARDIS now turns into a double helix spiral which is the depth of the Time Vortex, where G-force effects cause the vehicle to feel like you are being "sucked" into the Space-Time.

The TARDIS zooms out of the vortex and emerges on the moon of Trenzalore. Everything is dark and ominous. The vehicle zooms into the unloading station. Guests hear the Doctor, "Good Job! We did it!"

(if listening to the soundtrack, you may wish to pause it for now)

Please note, unlike the video, the unloading and loading stations are separate, due to them being in two completely different locations in the story line.

The Post-Show Queue

As riders exit, they can collect their on-ride pictures and either assign them to their PhotoPass Plus account with a simple tap, or scratch down their number. They proceed onto a moving walkway, which leads them to the gift shop. As they travel, they are treated to a wonderful exhibit of Classic and New Who memorabilia along the sides of their moving platform, donated by the BBC and by enthusiastic collectors.

TV props, such as Daleks and Gallifrey costumes, are showcased here.

The Gifts

The gift shop, called Clara's Curio, offers unique Doctor Who and BBC collectibles. The shop will also display more memorabilia, and will house a statue of a Cyberman and a Dalek for people to pose for pictures.

Much of the Who memorabilia will be exclusive to the shop, including TARDIS models that, using a Droid or iDevice app, are truly bigger on the inside!

(if listening to the soundtrack, you may wish to pause it for now)

Exclusively licensed Lego sets:

Other offerings include:
(if listening to the soundtrack, you may wish to pause it for now)

In addition to Doctor Who merchandise, the Gift Shop will have a few small sections dedicated to other popular BBC shows, such as Top Gear, Monty Python, Mr. Bean, and IT Crowd. Offerings will include DVD collections, as well as a limited number of clothing and general merchandise.

The End

This addition to the UK Pavilion will bring a deeply immersive and culturally relevant experience to Epcot's World Showcase. It will not only serve to add an E-ticket thrill ride to an area of the park lacking any rides, but will draw fans of Doctor Who and their families from around the world to experience this unique and complete attraction experience.

Audio-Animatronics Facts
Their will be Three models of Audio-Animatronics featured inside The Wetch ride, mainly for of sight and necessity. The Animatronics found in the stationary and slow sections of the ride will built of the same platform as the 7D Mine Train Roller Coaster found in the Magic Kingdom. The choice was made to reflect the attention to detail that Disney fans love. Quicker scenes will rely on the older and more simpler models, this will increase the operation time of these segments and allow for more units and crowds at a lower coast. Finally the dragon Audio-Animatronic will be a new designed based on the foundations of larger animatronics discovered through out Disney's History.

Grand Opening
Similar to spectacular Openings of Disney Park's Past, This will be extremely special in every sense.

For starters, The Wetch will have a TV Special on ABC On October 26, 2018. With the "Wizards" and "Dragon" parts of the attraction, it seems like the perfect time to host the special right around halloween.

The Special will be hosted by David Tennant, otherwise known as the 10th Doctor in the Doctor Who series. This also serves as a "Selling Epcot" in it's new form, talking about it's new Frozen attraction, Sorain', and many more classic attractions at the park today.

The special story plot goes around David Tennant looking around Epcot to find the Welsh Dragon though out the park, where he runs into several different attractions and pavilions at EPCOT on his way. He finally stumbles upon The Wetch with Merlin's (Ron Schneider, the original voice of the Dreamfinder) help.

Some other Guest Stars David Tennant stumbles upon in this special include: Ellen DeGeneres, Idina Menzel, Diane Kruger (From National Treasure Movie Series), Mushu the Dragon, Mater, Jeremy Clarkson and the Stig , and of course, Mickey and the Gang.

The next morning (October 27, 2018) after the aired special, Tom Stags opens the attraction with aid of Merlin (Ron Scheider, the original voice of the Dreamfinder) and an appearance from the Red Dragon.

Some UK Disney characters also appear at the grand opening to support the new attraction! (Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Alice, and Mary Poppins).

Closing Remarks
Thank you for watching our presentation, we look forward to seeing you conquer The Wetch soon. We at Team Sea have worked hard to design a one of a kind attraction that guest would only find at a Disney Park and we believe that this will stand out as one of the best.

  • Wonderful musical arrangement for the area that really is just inviting and exciting.
  • The story behind your coaster is deep and culturally relevant to the U.K. It is a perfect setup to involve guests in the action.
  • The arrangement with the BBC that you have hypothetically set up is ideal, and I am delighted that you recognized the issue.
  • The facade would fit right in with the current pavilion.
  • All the little touches to the pavilion seem great, and would surely expand upon the reasons to spend your time there.
  • A low capacity...I foresee much waiting in line for Whovians!
  • The queue, and its numerous RFID touches, are the little things Disney fans will rave about.
  • Those moments in the TARDIS would be breathtaking, though I am concerned about an animatronic at such close proximity to guests. The realism may be lost.
  • The secondary queue also sounds immersive, but a tad underwhelming.
  • Good touch with the non-rider waiting area, as the pre-show itself would be reason enough for some to get in line.
  • The ride, overall, seems really exciting and seems to fit the Doctor Who concept well...
  • But it seems a lot of your story got pushed into the pre-show and not so much was left to be physically seen in the ride. I understand how fast of a ride it is, but I think riders at least deserve a distant TARDIS or a Doctor animatronic somewhere.
  • Awesome, awesome, awesome merchandise...it would be very hard to keep the shelves stocked!
  • Overall your entire concept had some parts that could have used more but it was fantastic...absolutely FANTASTIC! (;))

  • I am very happy that you two went with an original theme that still holds cultural relevance in the chosen pavilion. (Though with an interesting name...?)
  • Though your storyboard ride through did have background music, there was no soundtrack to be played with the rest of the post, as was obligated.
  • Speaking of which, the music placed over the video was awesome and fun, but it left me wishing for me culturally original music from the 'pipes.
  • Lovely pacing of the text in your ride through video though. It was extremely easy to read (besides the typos).
  • The story was an interesting one that I would definitely love to ride with a little bit more fleshing out, but it seemed a bit disjointed in the form it was presented in.
  • The capacity was a very good thing for such an exciting ride that would surely bring in flocks of people.
  • The use of vertical drops and track tilts within the ride's story was an amazingly clever and awesome touch. Taking Everest to the next level.
  • The way you addressed animatronics was perfect for maintenance and cost worries.
  • Once again, the map and all of the art was just great. Love what you did there.
  • The rockwork facade would fit very well with the pavilion as well as nearby Canada.
  • The merchandise available would definitely include some top-sellers, like the cute Red Dragon. Great catch there.
  • The opening special would definitely have the star power to put Epcot back in the national spotlight, and it makes it even better that you chose David Tennant as your host. ;)
  • Overall, great job incorporating an original, historical attraction with an innovative high thrills coaster while further integrating the other areas of the UK!

I will begin by saying that some of you may have noticed did not like either of the final posts this week like I normally do. This is because each team lacked in one way or another in my opinion. Both teams could have done better whether it was presentation or cultural connections. I was disappointed this week and hope that next week will be better. With that said some of you still did fantastic ;) things that worked well for your concepts and payed off in the end.

Team Land @englanddg @Zweiland @RMichael21

I will begin your critique with the following gif:
PC_Brilliant.gif

And indeed it is. As a big Whovian I loved this ride and what it did for the show and pavilion. The interactive elements were spot on and the ride was exciting and fun. Overall great job.

The premise of your attraction was certainly unique. The story has a nice 'Davies' feel to it as well which I really liked. One thing I did not like was the lack of connection to Britain for the story, while the show is British that was not enough to justify the rides IP. I would have liked to see a more Britain oriented story line. This brings up another gripe I have in general is that this story required too much background knowledge. In Epcot you have guest (and even here) who are not familiar with Doctor Who and selecting such a complicated and detailed story may cause confusion. The story should have been basic and easy to understand, something easy for people to jump in to.

The facade and queue were very well thought out. While I would have loved to see the Palace of Westminster instead of the Abby, everything still meshed well together. The idea for having people go through the maze was a very good one and I like the 'TARDIS elevator'. All of the interactive elements really made this ride for me and something I would like to see more in Disney parks.

I appreciate the ridethrough, it gave a very nice elaboration on how the ride would work and what it would be like. Though I would have liked only one version I understand your reasoning against one. The thing that excited me the most was how thrilling the ride seemed to be, from the track to the actual events going on, this was an exciting ride. You guys definitely hit the mark with creating a fast and exciting ride.

Your presentation was clean, organized, and informative. This is something I appreciate and love about all of your submissions. They are always organized and clean and detail every single aspect of your proposal. I especially love the scenario you guys set up, it was true to the park and something I could see happening. Overall a nice job presentation wise.

At the end of the day this was a good ride, but not in the best park. It was not connected enough to the country for my tastes and too complicated of a plot for the average visitor. Still a very nice job, just too much a fan boys dream.

Team Sea: @MonorailRed @Voxel

I loved that you guys made an attraction that was completely unique and embedded deeply into UK history and culture.

The attractions premise was one that introduced a new part of the United Kingdom and in my opinion, it really fills the pavilion out. The story itself was culturally in tune and brought an element of realism we do not always see in Disney. It felt like an old WS ride even though it was a rollercoaster, that was something I liked seeing. I really can not stress how happy I am to see an old story take on new life and be told in a different way. It as unique, different, and exactly what I was looking for story wise this week.

The facade beautifully filled the skyline, it added a mountain to the lagoon which does wonders in making the park isolated from the surrounding hotels. I also like that it shows a different natural environment of the UK as well.

I wish more detail would have been placed on how the track would actually look. Your ride through also was a bit too slow for me. Other then that the ride itself was exciting and kept the whole story flowing nicely. It felt like a Uni coaster, but a Disney dark ride. That was the balance I was hoping to see this week and you guys pulled it off very well.

Presentation wise this sucked. I am a very frank and blunt person and I will tell you guys straight up that you need to work on presentations more. Video's are not enough in these cases, it is nice to see even more details and descriptions after the video. You guys also failed to provide a music loop to listen to and the music featured in the video was not authentic enough. Like Jdm, I would have liked to see more authentic tunes then bagpipe covers of pop songs. I also think that the opening ceremony, while interesting and an event that would put the park on the map again, it was not necessary. It was not something that added to your presentation, but instead made it look like you guys were overcompensating. You guys need to have better presentations. It does not need to be something you guys spend all week on, but it needs to be more then what you guys are giving us.

Overall you guys did a good job concept wise, but your lack luster presentation hurt you.

Challenge 11: The Final Four Disney Cruise Ships? I Think Not...
Four contestants remain. This time around you must compete to design a mode of international transportation; no, not planes, trains, or automobiles, but cruise ships! Each team is required to design the next class of Disney Cruise Line ships...take them to the next level. The class would hypothetically include two ships, but you only need to go into detail about one, because they would be exact replicas. You should bump it up a notch, knocking DCL into the international spotlight as the premiere cruising service, with the biggest, best ships. You should include write-ups for each major restaurant venue, merchandise location, or other recreation areas that at are at your discretion to include (theaters, pools, clubs, sports, etc.). Both teams should try and keep the style consistent with all current DCL ships, but I have a feeling we'll come out of this with two very different ocean liners.

There is no holder of the immunity idol this week.

This week, as usual, @LittleGiants16, @BryceM, @Matt7187 and @Sam4D23 will all be acting as advisers this week, like Trump's children and associates on the show.

Please provide at least 5 photos and at most 15, in order to display your new land. You are required to have a musical selection posted from YouTube to be played while reading your submission. Everyone may communicate amongst your teams in the PM that I will create and that I will watch over. Ask me any questions there. Due date is Saturday, October 18th, at 5 PM EST. Vacation Days may still be used (this is the last time you will be able to). After you post your ideas please do not get into personal conflicts with the other team about concepts, or actions of punishment will take place.

Good Luck! :)
