Challenge 3: The Countdown to Paradise
This time around, every team has 24 hours to think up a new, cultured continent for Disney's Animal Kingdom. You have 20 sentences (no run-ons) or less and only 3 pictures to put your best on display. Go crazy. As many rides, as many restaurants, as many shows, and as many shops as you want. Just make sure it all realistically fits within the park's current boundaries. Furthermore, you are forbidden from developing outside of your new land, including tearing down current infrastructure. So, what will it be?

photo+21+.jpg

This weeks Project Managers are;

Land
@RMichael21
Air
@Voxel
Sea
@tcool

@englanddg is the holder of the immunity idol this week, as he was the winning Project Manager in Challenge 2.

This week, as usual, @BryceM will be acting as an adviser, like Trump's children and associates on the show.

Please provide 3 photos in order to give a good sense of your expansion and how it fits in at the animal park. You guys may communicate amongst your teams in a PM I will create and watch over. Ask me any questions there. Due date is Sunday, July 27th, 2014, at 6:15 PM EST. After you post your ideas please do not get into personal conflicts with the other team about concepts, or actions of punishment will take place.

Oh, by the way, there's one more thing. The winning team has the option to trade or steal a contestant from another team onto theirs.

Good Luck! :)

Team Land Presents - AUSTRALIA: Coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom in late 2016!
5576557_orig.jpg

G'day mates, and welcome to Australia! This land is divided up into 3 exciting new mini-areas for guests to enjoy. The areas focus on Australia's evolution and never-changing connection with nature; as a result, guests can explore The Outback, Aboriginal Village, and Modern Coast!

The Aboriginal Village and Outback:
73p7gp.png

The Aboriginal Village, where guests arrive after they cross a bridge over the train tracks, is themed as a thriving community. You may notice a rural style area where there is a traditional Aboriginal-style dance performance and a tree house that introduces guest to the great continent that is Australia.

The land's main merchandise locations are in the village and Modern Coast.

The next area of the expansion is the outback, where guests travel from the other side of the village down a pathway. They arrive in a large, beautiful valley surrounded by rock work and waterfalls. This area houses the new E-Ticket headliner and the new animal trail. The new E-Ticket, The Outback Journey, will take you through the outback of Australia and you may find yourself up-close with several animals! The queue begins in the caves of a large mountain/rock face and winds through the dark tunnels until they reach the loading area. This ride is a trackless with a motion base (gentle) and a dark ride/animal encounter experience. The guests wind through the huge cavernous crevices of caves and travel through the winding tunnels using different effects with the trackless/motion base.

You finally move outside into a dense tropical forest and encounter different wildlife along the way, while the motion base simulates walking and traveling over rugged terrain. Guests then exit the ride and walk through the caves and back to the valley area, where they will find an all-new animal trail that showcases animals native to Australia such as Dingos, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Koala Bears, Platypuses and much more.

The Modern Coast:

The new Modern Coast area is themed to the city styles of Melbourne and Sydney, Australia's two largest cities, and features famous icons such as the Sydney Harbor bridge and Opera House. This area is host to an all new D-Ticket, a re-located Finding Nemo show, a second entrance into the land and a new Australian-style Seafood restaurant and collection of shops all set in themed buildings that take inspiration from Melbourne's Federation Square. The new Finding Nemo theater also houses an aquarium for guests to look at in the show queue (located in Federation Square). The D-Ticket, named Oceania: Adventures on the Sea, is a family boat ride through the waterways of Australia and the Great Barrier Reef and informing guests how the Sea and Oceans help drive Australia's culture and the country's never-ending connection to Australia's nature.

Our land focuses on the beauty and evolution of Australia from Aboriginal to a modern society, an evolution that has maintained man's relationship with landscape and with unique creatures only found in the great Land Down Under.

Animal Kingdom needs revitalization. Since it is mostly expected that Avatar will not do the trick, we here at Team Sea would like to share our plans for a new area that would not only send guests to exotic locales, but would also bring Animal Kingdom back to its roots: South America. Yes, the exotic locales, flora, and fauna will be brought to Animal Kingdom, right between what will become Avatarland and Africa, allowing guests to explore the world’s largest river, The Amazon, like never before.

Situated right on the famed Amazon River in Northern Brazil sits the small village known as A Vilage de Agua. The kind villagers welcome guests and invite them to explore the famed and magical Amazon River, and celebrate with the locals. There are quite a few attractions, so let’s discuss them.

http://i970.photobucket.com/albums/ae182/thekkayc/ScreenShot2014-07-27at35024PM_zps09318049.png

The headline attraction is the Amazon River Cruise. Guests board a small steamship (able to hold about 150) and are brought on a relaxing tour down the Amazon, coming face to face with Capybaras, river dolphins, river otters, and perhaps even a jaguar, among others. This attraction will be built off of the main river in Animal Kingdom. A beautiful waterside restaurant, called Jublio, will also be featured, serving traditional Brazilian cuisine.

The Amazon, being one of the world's largest ecosystem, is naturally full of a slew of strange, nocturnal creatures. At "Night Trek," guests will venture into the deepest parts of the Amazon rainforest to see these fascinating creatures. Red Eyed Tree Frogs, Owls, and others will all be featured around a centerpiece Bat enclosure.

Of course, there will also be shopping and fun to be had by all. At the Amazon River Marketplace, guests can experience a marketplace by the river with goods of the Natives. Some of the items to look out for are Masks of an Amazonian Tribe, Fresh Fruit grown locally, and other artifacts of this tribe. Nightly guests can gather round and experience the Dance of the Jungle, and this live show of Legendary Proportions will have the music of Samba filling the air! Featured dances will be Samba Pagoda where 2 Samba Dancers will dance together, Samba de Roda where guest can partake in the dance, Samba Axe 2 dancers will have a dance off against each other, and Samba No Pe where several dancers will dance.

South America is certain to be an incredible, and incredibly new, experience to revitalize this dying, and underrated, park. Though there are a lot of South American animals featured in AK already, the park is missing an incredible opportunity to expand, and immerse guests in some entirely unique experiences with some entirely unique animals.

Wonderful job this week guys! You managed to fit your new continent well into the current infrastructure of Animal Kingdom. It is well-designed for flow with paths from Conservation Station as well as Asia. However, your Asian path appears to lead from the Jungle Trek, which would work during the day, but at night would have to close early. With the sentence limit, you were still able to convince me that your new experiences would be extremely fun. The Rescuers was a nice tie-in for a main attraction, I'm just not sure the film would be able to hold enough merit to be the basis for a staple ride. The boat ride seemed nice as well, though a bit long for something so similar to the Discovery River Boats. However, one of my favorite parts of your design was the Wallaby Festival. It just seemed like a quality environment to be in, a relaxing country place. Your walk-through animal exhibits fit quaintly into the current DAK dynamic, as does your Outback town. Glendambo is a perfect compliment to Harambe and Anandapur. Overall, really amazing job in just 24 hours and 20 sentences.

The Aboriginal Village and Outback:

Today you all really worked hard...and it shows! I liked how you broke your land down into the three areas, which helps to show the diversity of the continent. I liked how you integrated the culture in a superb way, with shows in the village, the ride and trails in the Outback, and the shop and restaurant in the Modern Coast. Speaking of which, the new Finding Nemo theater seems a bit small to hold the show, especially with an added aquarium. I am ecstatic, though, that you went with an original ride in the Outback, and it seemed like a hit, conveying the country's majesty and biodiversity. As with Team Air, adding a nature trail with animals fits perfectly as a component of DAK. Your Ocean ride seemed fun to, but not very well-thought out. From what I could infer, it almost seemed as just an oceanic version of The Outback Journey. I do have some problems with your placement. Also like Team Air, it appears your entry path leads from the Jungle Trek in Asia, which would be a major traffic flow problem at night. You also built over current backstage infrastructure, which I forbade for this challenge. Those buildings and equipment are essential to the execution of some current Asia attractions. However, your overall presentation was great!

Good choice this week! Using South America was a bold and unique move. It was well executed to boot! The placement of your land, though, worries me. You took out some backstage infrastructure, if I'm understanding your proposal right. That, of course, was restricted. However, a River Cruise was the perfect choice for a ride in South America, as the Amazon River is full of exotic life to see and experience. It's like a spectacular combo of the Liberty Belle Riverboat and the Jungle Cruise. My question; are the animals real, or AAs? If they're AAs, the ride leans a bit too close to the Jungle Cruise. Another question; is Night Trek only available at night, or is the environment darkened? I would prefer a darkened environment. Even though I have that qualm, it still seems like a neat experience that I'm sure a family would love to do. Your shops and restaurants seemed well-themed to the culture, and not just set there to sell. Overall, your design was absolutely fantastic with it's unique take on the riverboat ride and the nature trail.

ABOLISHED
The Tenth Amendment -
An eliminated contestant may be "saved" by any team with less than 5 members. That team must sacrifice 8 Vacation Days in order to save the player and bring them onto their team. Any member that is saved through this amendment will only hold 1 Vacation Day themselves. Eliminated contestants can only be "saved" for the duration of the next challenge, unless noted.

Challenge 4: It's Elementary, My Dear Watson
Guess what? Our time in the US isn't over yet! In fact, it's alive and well. This week, you, the contestants, are heading up I-4 to Universal's Islands of Adventure. Your mission this week is to re-establish the Marvel Superhero Island with a new theme. In this scenario, we assume that either Disney has either bought back the rights for Marvel parks, or Universal just doesn't want them anymore. Thus, they need a new theme for the area. What the higher-ups want is a land themed to international literature, carrying on with the parks. Though you shall not pass through this challenge easily. Remember, this is a Universal STUDIOS park. Also, you are required to maintain at least 2 of the current attractions with a new skin, but the rest is up to you. Demo everything else, or just keep everything with a simple re-theme. Remember, though, you will need functional places like shops, restaurants, and restrooms to fit in overall. The main intention for your design is to be able to look back at the end and say, "What have we done?" The answer should be that you created a masterpiece that carries on the theme of the park, while also embracing an exciting, distinct theme. Remember to focus as well. I believe a man lost in the mazes of his own mind may imagine that he's anything. Or can do anything. Be realistic.
