The restaurants I'm doing on my next trip

Well we normally do our breakfasts at anytime around 7:30, and our dinners anytime from 6:30-7:30

My DH and I do the same. We do an early breakfast and late dinner and it works well for us. DH may get a snack during the day but I usually pass. We are older and enjoy a nice sit down dinner and the end of the day.

Ok, so we have decided to do Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast, and Chef Mickey's for brunch, but do they still offer breakfast food at the Chef Mickey's brunch?

Mickey waffles are good enough for me. Do you see chicken on the menu, because if there is chicken, we can make chicken and Mickey waffles (We like chicken and waffles)

You can check out their menu at the link below.

Tusker at Breakfast just doesn't seem to be as interesting as they are for the other meals and the only good reason for Tusker is to try some of the more interesting items.

Au contraire - Tusker at breakfast is excellent. It's mostly more or less standard buffet, but they have a few interesting and unusual items. And if you book an early seating, you're in great position to beat the crowds at rope drop.

Unless I'm missing something you just agreed with me but tried to justify them because of the level of crowds. Not sure what you mean by crowd levels either.. If you mean crowd levels in AK as a whole, that's down to most everyone trying to do Pandora at rope drop... If you mean low crowds at Tusker, well that's because it isn't a great breakfast choice for most people.

I didn't try to justify anything. I've had many great breakfasts at Tusker House, and I have pictures of an empty area in front of Kilimanjaro Safaris while a horde of people cross the bridge into Africa, and I'm perfectly positioned ahead of them.

You've said that Tusker House breakfast is bad, and I completely disagree with you.

No I never said it was bad. I said it lacked the real diversity of flavor that you would want in an ethnic eatery. You stated yourself that it was more or less a standard breakfast buffet with a few interesting and unusual items... I simply said it made more sense to do it at lunch when the menu is pretty much all interesting except for say the kiddie section with the standard corn dog nuggets and such. If I had thought Tusker was bad I would not have suggesting swapping it for a later lunch. And if crowd avoidance in the morning is your goal, why have breakfast at all in the park the better option if you were simply worried about crowds would be to eat before you got to the park, but that isn't what the OP had in mind as they had a breakfast planned each day.

We averaged something like 10 miles a day or just under, lol. So yeah...big breakfast and big dinner, and then sleep like a rock. ;)

Yeah, my GF and I averaged 10 miles a day on this past trip we went on. We also went swimming for an hour or 2 nearly every day or evening - it made us both ravenous beasts the entire trip lol. I generally like to eat one giant meal (table service, usually dinner, sometimes it is an early breakfast) and one medium meal (counter service) per night I am there.

This comment led me to believe that you didn't like the Tusker House breakfast, prompting me to point out that it's a great breakfast. If my assumption was in error, my bad.

I'll agree that Tusker is a really nice breakfast. It is a perfect balance for me, the DW and DS. The DW and I can try something a little exotic while still having plenty of fall back options and the DS can have eggs and waffles to his hearts content. You also can't beat the place in line it gets your for Kilamanjaro Safaris. First truck of the day baby!

I think we need to give the benefit of the doubt to the OP and realize she will order according to her appetite. Everyone saying her plan is allowing for "too much food" isn't giving the best advice. Table service is a great chance to relax, re-engerize, and soak in more of your surroundings than most other CS locations. I say Table-it-up, order wisely, and enjoy.

Ok here is the updated plan.

Day 1- Epcot
Breakfast: Garden Grill
Lunch: Coral Reef
Dinner: Akershus

Day 2- Hollywood Studios
Breakfast: Trattoria al Forno
Lunch: We need a suggestion, feel free to throw out some.
Dinner: Minnie's Holiday Dine

Day 3- Animal Kingdom
Breakfast: Tusker House
Lunch: Either Restaurantosaurus or Pizzafari
Dinner: 1900 Park Fare

Day 4- Magic Kingdom
Breakfast: 'Ohana
Lunch: Crystal Palace
Dinner: Be Our Guest

Day 5- Magic Kingdom
Breakfast: Chef Mickey's
Lunch: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
Dinner: Cinderella's Royal Table

We've got to hit certain restaurants on every trip to WDW: Biergarten, King Stephan's (yeah I know), T-Rex, Ohana, Sci-Fi, Columbia House, Brown Derby... Sometimes I feel like I don't have time to get 'em all in!

Just a suggestion from someone who is a huge foodie and has eaten just about every place on property possible. You have way too many sit down meals and will spend half your trip in restaurants, spend more money than you need to, and have way too much food. This is one of those times, and I learned it when I went the first couple of times, you cant eat everywhere on every trip. Your day 1 alone is way too much. 3 sit downs in one day? Think of it this way. Youll spend 90 minutes at each (walking to and waiting), possibly have a short to 10 minute wait, sometimes more. Youve just spent 5-6 hours of your day in restaurants. And the food snob in me says you are missing a lot of better "quality" restaurants for showy places. Just something to consider.

If I were doing it:
Day 1- Epcot
Breakfast: Garden Grill
Lunch: One of the counter service spots in World Showcase if you are even still hungry after Garden Grille. The Patisseree in France, Fishnchips in England, etc. Or try the Holiday Booths. Good food, variety and drinks. Or go to Tutto Gusto and relax inside with a nice glass of wine and apps. Or the raucous crowds at Rose and Crown Pub.
Dinner: Walk out and go to Flying Fish or Yachtsman

Day 2- Hollywood Studios
Breakfast: Trattoria al Forno
Lunch: Relax and have a drink and apps at HBD Lounge, 50s Lounge, or the new Taphouse with a peice of pizza from Pizza Rizzo.
Dinner: Hollywood Brown Derby

Day 3- Animal Kingdom
Breakfast: Tusker House
Lunch: go relax at Nomad lounge with drinks and apps. The sliders and bread service are phenomenal.
Dinner: Try someplace like Jiko, Boma, Boathouse, Raglan Road, or Homecoming.

Day 4- Magic Kingdom
Breakfast: 'Ohana
Lunch: If you have to relax and sit down for a break, do it at Columbia Harbor House or Pinnochiohaus.
Dinner: Skipper Canteen

Day 5- Magic Kingdom
Breakfast: 1900 Park Fair or Grand Floridian Cafe
Lunch: A counter service OTHER than consmic rays.
Dinner: If you must eat in MK then the royal table is ok for the experience. If you want better food, exit the park as a break and go to either Cali Grill or Narcoosees.

Personally I wont do 3 a day, but, if you must, Id use breakfast for character meals or other "showy" type things and save dinner for more quality meals. Use lunch as relax spots where you can enjoy an adult beverage in a quiet setting unless at MK, then you want to just fine a quiet place to relax.

Also keep in mind if staying on property and wanting to take advantage of EMH in the AM, best to do that early like 8-10, eat a late breakfast, have drinks and apps or a snack in the afternoon and eat dinner after the parks close at a resort. Most parks are closing by 7 or 8 except Epcot, and on MK party nights they close at 6. Your better restaurants will take ressies up till 930 or 10 at resorts and up to midnight at Springs. Lots of ways you can go with it and its certainly something very individual to the situation and person. Im just basing it off my experience with the food at the restaurants. You should do what makes you happiest, I just think you have way too much time in restaurants. Whatever you choose, Just have fun.
