Welcome to the second season of The Proposals where the theme of planning a wedding takes a hold on the game. It is going to be a lot of fun this season. Planning a wedding is hard, but this won’t be! Just like last season, which you can view here, there will be fun and simple tasks that you can propose here in the main thread. You can make a 20 page document or a small paragraph. It’s up to you!

When you plan something like a wedding, there can always be fast changes that can alter your vision. So for this season, I will be throwing out twists throughout each prompt that could either make things easier or harder for you. For example, I could tell you to propose something in Galaxy’s Edge, but it has to be something related to The Mandalorian. Or I could tell you to propose a new attraction for Pixar Pier, but it has to relate to a Pixar media that releases in 2021. If you think this is too hard, well don’t worry as I have plenty of easy twists that will allow broad ideas.

Here is an updated Q&A from last game just in case you need a reminder:

When does this start?
TODAY!

Who can join in on this?
Anyone! You don’t need to be an Imagineer forum regular to play. As long as you have an idea that you feel comfortable sharing, you can join in and leave whenever you want.

Do I have to put any effort into this?
Not at all. You can do a one sentence pitch or a 10 page document! We love seeing all the amazing work people do on these forums.

Is this a competition game?
Nope! This is just a daily brainstorming game for people to propose ideas for fun and enjoyment. This is a perfect game for people who don’t like to play in comps or who aren’t in a comp at the moment.

Do I have to participate every single day?
No! This is a game where anyone can join in whenever they like. If you don’t like a prompt or just don’t have any ideas for it, then you don’t have to participate that day.

What can I expect to see in the prompts given?
Anything and everything! But if I had to guesstimate a percentage of the prompt themes, I would say it’s 50% Disney, 25% Universal, and 25% other topics from other studios/theme parks.

When will this end?
I have no idea! LOL. I originally had planned it to end when a competition started but one does not start till next year! We just have to go with the flow.

Will my work be reviewed?
Not this time. I decided to gear the game into even less of a competition vibe and more a controlled brainstorming thread.

So who’s ready to propose some ideas!?!

Day 1

It is good to be back for another season of The Proposals. For the first day of the game, let’s take it back to the park that started it all!

1636304612118.png

Your task is to…
Propose a new attraction for Disneyland, BUT it has to be an IP NOT used in the park already.

Some reminders:
-You can keep it simple! You don’t have to make a full blown 10 page document on the ride. You can do a couple sentences and/or a few pictures. Whatever you feel comfortable with

-Don’t be scared to share your ideas! Every idea is a good idea

-Have fun with it! Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.

Tomorrowland is in need of the most help in Disneyland - but given Galaxy's Edge taking over another 'futuristic' corner of the park, I think Tomorrowland at Disneyland would be best as a ceremonial Tomorrowland that represents the Tomorrowland of yesteryear.
disneyland-park-map.jpg

With that I think Meet the Robinsons in the Tomorrowland Theater, acting as a walk-through attraction similar to One Man's Dream, would be the foundation that lays the groundwork to bring Tomorrowland back to its idealized state before the 1990s.

With Marvel in DCA and Star Wars already in the park, the purpose of Tomorrowland is significant and therefore can be allowed to act more as a symbol of Walt's vision of Tomorrowland rather than need to continue to change and grow.

As much as I wish I could do something totally original, guess I have to do an IP.

The Money Bin

Replacing Chip and Dale Treehouse as part of a Toontown refurb, this new attraction based on the iconic 1990s (and 2010s) show named DuckTales is a new playground/walkthrough hybrid for young kids and older fans alike, where you can slide into the famous pit of gold!

(as you can see, I was running out of ideas here)

Dick Tracy's Crimestoppers

Join Dick Tracy as we will chase down the criminals in 1930s Chicago as thrill dark ride will have a special effects, audio-animatronics, soundtrack by Danny Elfman. The ride was opened in 1996 part of Hollywoodland's debut at Disneyland. Based on comics and film Dick Tracy (1990). You'll speed through streets of Chicago, being caught by the gangsters in their hideout at the warehouse, being almost hit by a train, speeding into the bridge, as you will speeding through the alley, then you'll being end up with the bunch of gangsters in the harbor.

Hmmm...

Magic Carpets Over Agrabah
1636321283845.png
Technically, Aladdin's only representation in the park since its release has been the now-closed Aladdin's Oasis restaurant. This new addition to Adventureland, part of an Agrabah-themed subland, takes guests on a magical journey through the story of the film, with plenty of special effects and surprises along the way.

The attraction uses the same "suspended track" ride system used for Peter Pan's Flight over in Fantasyland. Riders climb aboard magic carpets and travel through, over, and into such locations as the Cave of Wonders, the Agrabah Marketplace, the Sultan's palace, and even the Genie's lamp (in what is bound to be one of the ride's most beloved moments). Eventually, things take a turn for the creepy when the vile Jafar swipes the Genie's lamp, transforms into a ferocious cobra, and threatens to gobble the riders up. But, of course, there's a happy ending, and the ride exits out into - what else? - a gift shop where one can buy Aladdin merchandise.

Fantasia Gardens

fantas.jpg

Found in the lagoon that once housed the Motor Boat Cruise, you'll now find aquatic vessels of a different kind. Fantasia Gardens, which gets its name from what Disney dubbed the area upon the Motor Boats' closure, finally gives America an Aquatopia of its own. Ah, but don't think it will be a direct clone of the Tokyo DisneySea favorite. Fantasia Gardens takes the Aquatopia concept and takes it to the next level.

The loading dock is very Grecian and pastoral in design, and the entrance is marked by statues depicting centaurs and cupids, with the ride's name imprinted on a banner held by two fauns. Woven into the trees and gardens surrounding the lagoon are various nods to the duology; for example, the fairies, sprites and dancing flowers of "The Nutcracker Suite" and a few of the animals from "Pomp and Circumstance." The ride vehicles are giant buckets -- an obvious reference to "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" -- and inside them, we are taken on a wild ride. We can get spun around, we can nearly have collisions, and above all else, we are going to get wet. California can get mighty hot around the summertime, so this ride offers a unique way to get some refreshing water splashed onto you. Various statues are set up in and around the lagoon, depicting segments from the first Fantasia, and almost all providing ways for us to get wet -- for example, you might see Hyacinth Hippo and Ben Ali Gator in their "Dance of the Hours", surrounded by romantic fountains; or the mushrooms of "The Nutcracker Suite" performing a dance, surrounded by jumping fountains; or the Steadfast Tin Soldier and his ballerina lover, standing atop a castle balcony, a romantic waterfall pouring underneath them. And in the center of it all is Sorcerer Mickey atop a mountain, commanding waves to crash around him, drenching those unlucky to pass by at the wrong time. And of course, surrounding the entire perimeter of the lagoon are the enchanted brooms, with torrents of water pouring out of their buckets.

Area music consists mainly of selections from the Fantasia duology, with most of the arrangements taken from the 2015 WDW Today loop; music such as "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", "The Pastoral Symphony", "Carnival of the Animals", "Dance of the Hours" and various selections from The Nutcracker Suite. Other music includes the Neverland Orchestra's take on "Ave Maria", as well as arrangements of Respighi's "Pines of Rome", Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5" and Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance."

Day 2

The second day of The Proposals: Dream Wedding is here! It is sadly a Monday though. However, I think we can spice up this gloomy Monday with an overpriced party that Bob Chapek would love!

9 Tips You Should Know If You're Attending Disneyland Resort's Oogie Boogie Bash

Your task is to…
Propose a nighttime event at any Disney Park. BUT the party needs to be based on a holiday that is not Christmas or Halloween.

Roger & Jessica's Lovely Hollywood Valentine Party

Having fun your date with your girlfriend at Walt Disney Studios Park during Valentine's Day? Genie's April Fool Festival

aladdin-genie.gif

It's time to get a bit silly, as the Genie is turning the Magic Kingdom upside-down for an April Fool's Day celebration! He has let his magic loose, working all sorts of wondrous (and goofy) sights throughout the park, hiding all sorts of silly surprises! Get ready for the Culinary Comedy Club, as a whole horde of delicious treats have been prepared...though some might not be as sweet as you expect! In fact, some might shock and surprise with sour or spicy flavors, hiding among the delicious designs. It all leads up to a grand fireworks show, Make 'Em Laugh, celebrating the power of laughter and joy!

Oswald's Easter Egg-stravaganza!
1636387115175.png
Being a rabbit, Oswald is a natural choice to host a Easter party! The Magic Kingdom is decked out in colorful banners, streamers, and flowerbeds, and not only that, but there are Easter eggs EVERYWHERE. You can search the park for them, or fill up your basket with candy at Goofy's Candy Shop in Fantasyland. There are also meet-and-greets with Disney's multiple rabbit characters.

Season of the Heart

Disneyland-After-Dark-Sweethearts-Nite-169.jpg

Anyone remember the Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts' Nite events that were put on in 2019 and 2020 -- and will more than likely be brought back once the pandemic is over; maybe by 2023? Well, I was thinking: Why not expand that into a full-blown, hard-ticket event for the Magic Kingdom? Thus was born Season of the Heart.

Season of the Heart, which runs on special nights from January to February, celebrates love in all forms: romantic love, familial love, platonic love among friends and acquaintances. One and all are invited to explore the Magic Kingdom and experience the love in many ways -- you can meet classic Disney friends and couples, enjoy delicious food, including special dishes only available at this time, and even get access to some of the park's most popular attractions. There's even special entertainment, like attending a royal ball at Cinderella's Royal Table, or taking a moonlight ride aboard the Liberty Belle. It all culminates in a special ceremony where all couples are invited to reaffirm their love for one another, leading to an elaborate fireworks display set to the tune of the "Season of the Heart" theme.
