The Park Formerly Known as Disney's Hollywood Studios? Yep ...

I mean you have the Animations section of the park, Pixar Place, and soon-to-be Star Wars Land (Lucasfilm). Those are all areas dedicated to studios under the Disney umbrella. As for the "Disney's Studios" idea coinciding with the entrance of the park, well... Therein lies the problem
I don't see why they can't just elaborate on the studio theme more and just rebrand the areas...

-Lucas Studios
-Muppet Studios
-Pixar Studios
-Disney Animation Studios
-Golden Hollywood Studios ( front of park and sunset blvd area)

I honestly think that would make the most sense...

Ooh yeah the Muppet Studios portion could use some loving and updating. The success of the new movies would draw in newer and younger crowds while the TLC and some nostalgia added in would draw in us long time lovers of that whole gang. When you list them that way it does make a lot more sense, though where does Rockin fit in? Lmao

I'm talking about getting rid of the word studios because they are removing all of the elements of it being an active movie studio. If rumors are true and the back lot tour, LMA and Indy all close the only element of an active studio that is left is the streets of America sets. That could go too if they figure out what to do with the Christmas lights.

They could very well have a theme for the back half of the park of "lands" or "islands" based on each of the studios owned by Disney (Pixar, Lucas, Muppets) but I would think they would still remove studios from the name.

Yeah. "Studios" only makes sense if they produce (or at least really commit to pretending to produce) films and other media there.

It will probably be something silly like Disney's Hollywoodland.

Rockin roller coaster really is the only curve ball that tries a big wrench into themeing down there. However, u could make it work with a new band or performer! How about Elvis? Not only was his rock n roll music extremely popular, but he also starred in so many movies back in the day it might just work...

Aerosmith has been in movies, and they're very popular.

The wrench has little to do with music, and everything to do with time. Music is recorded in studios, so being in movies isn't a concern. What is a concern is that Sunset Boulevard is designed as a 1930's era street, and then we have a giant Fender Stratocaster and blaring 1970's music mere feet from that.

If you want to do this right, you drop the studio angle of the park entirely, and build out Sunset Boulevard as a fully realized 1930's area. Cheapest way to make that happen is a jazz re-theme of Rockin' Rollercoaster. A more marketable way to make that happen would be a detective something-or-other. In any case, Sunset Boulevard has the potential to be one of the most well-constructed lands in theme park history, already anchored by Tower of Terror. The question is whether Disney will bother to make that happen without the backing of a mega franchise.

Heading for the great escape.

I honestly can't see them doing anything to the front half of the park. Maybe a new show replacing Beauty and the Beast but no changes to physical structure. The back half is in bad shape and is going to be gutted and completely redone. I have a hard time believing the budget for that will be approved let alone more money allocated to tweak anything in the front half. Unless there is a contractural issue with Aerosmith I don't see them being replaced.
