Trip Report The Never-Ending Summer Of Disney *COMPLETED*

Seriously?!!

Can you believe it??

BC7AE996-5BB5-4770-9C10-F20CE1197633.jpeg

This is jaw-dropping news!!

If only.

Two things in life give me the blues ~ the end of summer and the end of a Disney vacation. A never-ending summer of Disney would be a dream come true! But I am certainly happy to “settle” for a WDW vacay in June....in July....and in August. 😊And rather than write three separate trip reports (and annoy @amjt660 when my *COMPLETED* report really isn’t 😉) I decided to take @Rista1313 ’s suggestion and post an ongoing travelogue, à la @blgauger style.

So let’s get started!

Vacation #1
June 16-24, 2018
Tuvalu, Woody and Em get pampered at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Was there rain? Any snarky Cast Members? Ridiculous guest behavior? A Magic meet-up? How many times did we watch Happily Ever After?

You’ll have to follow along to find out.

Em and I continued our quest for the next E-Ticket with a short line.

15 minutes? More like ten, tops.

Ever noticed this bird in his nest? I hadn’t.

On a related note, anyone know what DHATURA EXTRACT is?

As guests began to board the boat (with assistance from the CMs at the front and back) our Skipper commented, “Don’t worry....they are trained in human Tetris.” :hilarious:

Two other beauties that I found funny ~
Approaching the giant python: “Once this guy gets a crush on you it’s really smothering.”
“The zebra is the oldest animal in the Jungle.....he’s still in black and white.”

It was a very entertaining cruise.

I think we heard the human tetris joke as well. I wonder if your skipper was Sarah?

Let’s do a ride count so far, shall we? Pooh, Space Mountain, Buzz, BTMRR, Pirates and Jungle Cruise all before our first FP at 10 am.

While on our way to our FP we encountered some roaming bears.

Who can name them? (You know I can 😉.)

Hidden in this photo is our destination.

Made it!

Today the CMs were allowing too many guests in the stretching rooms (rather than hold them outside) resulting in a huge crush of people in the doom buggy loading zone. I hate that! The area becomes claustrophobic and causes normally nice people to begin pushing and shoving as everyone tries to merge at once.

There’s got to be a better way......oh wait, THERE IS! :banghead:

Em and I were finally able to relax once we climbed into our doom buggy. All the effects were working as they should and we thoroughly enjoyed our ride.

@wdisney9000 we did notice the trimming in the pet cemetery!

We could finally read the tombstone of the poodle:
So prim and proper and never lazy
Now all you do is push up daisies

(Anyone hear Ralphie’s voice as you read that?)

Visited the poison garden at Alnwick Castle last year where I learned that Datura has large, trumpet-like flowers. Apparently, grown in conservatories, Victorian ladies would shake the pollen into their tea for a bit of a buzz. (It's hallucinogenic!) Why is it that I can remember obscure facts like this but not what it is I got up to do 5 minutes ago?........

I had to Google this for @Tuvalu because it got me interested, and someone said that Disney is implying that the skippers took the extract and are hallucinating when giving the cruises. Not sure how accurate that is, but I'll go for that explanation. Loving this little detail!

I actually saw @TrolleyFollower91 various shirts in the trip reports and loved them too! I zoomed into a couple of photos that showed the logo clearly and googled it. I’ve ordered a few a really like them. Highly recommend! I promise Em and @Tuvalu -not a stalker, just a friend. :joyfull:
Apparently back-to-school brain kicked in! Yes, D3 tees!

I suggested going unda da sea since we had a little time before our next FP. However it was down when we got there, so we continued on to the MPB ~ which you may recall we did not get to ride last month!

I sent this to Woody (not to taunt him.....honest!)

As we left the station I caught a glimpse of the sky.....not looking good.

We did not plan to disembark at the Main Street station, but the conductor announced that the train was suspending its operations and everyone needed to get off.

I guess 1/4 of the loop is better than no ride at all. :bored:

We saw people milling around the train tunnel and Em said, “I think it’s raining.”

I was prepared to venture out but Em stopped me. “Let’s make a plan first,” she said.

“We can discuss lunch,” I said. “And mobile order.”

Just as we began to pull up QS menus on the app, there was a LOUD crack of thunder.

Then this happened:

Wise old Em had saved us from a drenching. Now we just had to hope the torrents didn’t last too long.

The worst of the storm was over in 20 minutes. When the rain lightened we popped open our umbrellas and made our way to our lunch choice.

Though we had mobile ordered, it wasn’t necessary because the Tomorrowland Terrace was empty. Em and I could not remember the last time we ate here (the HEA Dessert Party notwithstanding.) When Em was growing up, the TT was on our regular rotation. Not only was it open daily (not just “seasonally”), it served the BEST chicken strips and fries....before the yummy trans fats were removed. 😉

When we saw chicken tenders were an option at TT we had to revisit the restaurant for old times sake.

Em chose a table with a nice view of the castle.

BTMRR and Splash Mountain were our next two FPs, and as we suspected both became “Multiple Experience” fastpasses due to weather. I was able to book a FP for Little Mermaid within the hour, so we ate slowly. The tenders and fries were as tasty as non-trans fat tenders can be. :joyfull:

Since we had to walk through Tomorrowland to get to Mermaid, Em requested a quick spin on the PeopleMover. Note that there are a lot more people in this picture compared to the one I’d taken in the morning.

We saw Mrs. Incredible as we were waiting.

We don’t understand the reason these characters (Mrs. Incredible and Edna Mode) are driven through a small parcel of Tomorrowland ~ they don’t leave the vehicle, nor does the vehicle stop. It’s like a 30-second commercial.

“Do we have time to get ice cream before Mermaid?” asked Em.

We do indeed!

We made it with several minutes to spare.

It was sprinkling when we exited Mermaid. We decided it was time to return to Beach Club for a break and then come back to MK in the evening to use our FPs (when hopefully it wouldn’t be raining.)

We thought we’d ride another 1\4 loop on the MPB. First Em posed by the circus train so we could send pictures to my DIL to show Tuvalette.

When we disembarked at the Main Street station (our choice this time!) the rain was falling at a steady pace.

And reminiscent of last night, we had a VERY long wait for a bus. 😡

Hey buddy ~ just because the bus isn’t full doesn’t grant you the right to block the aisle with your stroller.

And speaking of strollers ~ If you have b o o bs, you are too old to be riding in a Disney stroller.
‘Nuff said.
