News "The Music of EPCOT" 2-LP Set Releasing 10/2 on Disney Music Emporium

parkhopnation, Disney Music Emporium and Walt Disney Records jointly announced on Instagram that a two-LP vinyl release inspired by the original 1983 album "The Official Album of EPCOT Center" will be available for pre-order at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event before being released exclusively through Disney Music Emporium on October 2.

A track listing has yet to be confirmed (update), but the announcement specifically calls out "Listen to the Land", "New Horizons", "Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind" and "Remy's Ratatouille Adventure" as being included, in addition to an excerpt of Walt Disney talking about his vision for EPCOT.

Unconfirmed at this time but given Disney's track record of simultaneous digital releases, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet.

They missed the boat not having a multi-disc collectors set for WDW's 50th like they did for Disneyland, but it's nice to see a high quality park album again for at least one of the parks

Interested to hear more about the track listing as that will determine if this is a ‘must buy’ or not.
One really can’t beat the original ‘Official Album of EPCOT Center’…if only it had ‘New Horizons’ included!

Hoping this is unlike some of the other modern day Disney vinyl releases that are just digitally sourced from a brickwalled CD copy and sound…..questionable…..as far as sound quality goes.
Very common with a lot of reissued vinyl albums and new releases.
What’s the point if one can just listen to a crappy cd..?
When vinyl is mastered in the right way the record can sound utterly amazing.

Awaiting further info about what looks to be an interesting offering.
Hoping for some of the more obscure cuts and instrumental pieces.
It’s a two record set…plenty of space for a few !

If it does, it'll only be a snippet. Each of the loops are about 20 to 30 minutes so we aren't getting the full releases on vinyl.

If there's no digital release, it's more likely a "catering to niche markets" 2-LP vinyl record release. While I appreciate listening to actual old vinyl records, this "re-release things that never were available on vinyl" modern craze is tiring.

Eh, I understand what you mean but I also see what they're going for: the best of the past and present, together, much like 2022's "EuroDisney: L'album officiel" also released on vinyl (and digital) having both the Timekeeper theme and The Medallion Calls included. There's a clear pattern in these "boutique" album releases, and I can't say I mind it.

The last time OG EPCOT Center music was released was on 2013's "Disney Classics" box set. 13 years ago. Before that was 2005... 21 years ago.

In a relative release drought like the one that we're in now where the last "true" Official Albums were (also) 13 years ago, more high-quality releases however they're packaged is always a good thing to me.

Unfortunate that they are calling this "The Music of EPCOT" and then name dropped two attractions that didn't have music composed for their EPCOT iterations (unless they're pressing the Energy riff from the launch for Guardians, then I guess I'll eat my words). I get that it's all music that plays in the park, but I don't consider something "EPCOT Music" if it wasn't originally composed for EPCOT.

I would have preferred a straight repress of the original EPCOT Center LP to a 2LP containing film scores masquerading as EPCOT music. Maybe that's pedantic of me. Hopefully some of the park's 90s soundscape will be included as little of that has ever been officially released, but I am not holding my breath.

If it follows the pattern of other recent Disney compilation albums ( say, like their ‘100 Years of Disney’ release ) that will indeed be the case.
First record will be the vintage cuts, second lp will be the more modern tracks.

Agreed. I don't buy any vinyl pressed after '92.
