Anyone ever discover they have been sleeping on what qualifies as a theme park within earshot of where they live?
I’m kind of obsessed with Heritage Park down the road from us since I convinced friends / kids we should check it out. Yes, very aimed at a peak age of 5-9, but it was way bigger than I expected it to be and more developed.
A full Canadian steam train (trainset under renovation), horse and buggy ride, a streetcar style electric rail tram around the parking lot, a full sized river paddle boat that free roams through the reservoir…. Multiple shows. About 10 different scheduled street performances. Saloons, fur trading forts, First Nation Villages, Printing Presses and bakeries. Farmland. Animals. Character actors everywhere. An in themed turn of the century amusement park with 5 different flats. I don’t need a rolley coaster or the absolute hot slop that was Universal Kids. Sorry Universal, you suck at regional family offerings.
