The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I actually do not hate those bathrooms because seemingly no one knows they exist and there are plenty of stalls, hah. Looks be damned, I'll take 'em over fighting for your life outside the New Orleans train station, Rancho del Zocalo or Main Street locales any day.
Same, literally couldn't care less. Those bathrooms are great. The equivalent of the Figment bathrooms at Epcot.

Which the Figment bathrooms are like Bruno...we don't talk about them...so if you didn't know about them...you didn't hear about them from me...🙃

I checked 'em out on my most recent WDW trip after hearing the chatter online, hah!

In terms of bathroom size (not theming, obviously), I would give my vote for the "best" to the ones between Jurassic Park and the Panda Express at Universal Studios Hollywood. Seriously, there has to be like 50 stalls and 50 urinals in there! Feels like it goes on forever, like the Backrooms of Bathrooms, or something.

What an odd turn this thread has taken.

😮 I thought they were the same?

In comparison to all the other ones in Disneyland Park, they're like triple the size, so I assumed that was the case.
Nope.

I've spent enough time in both to determine they are slightly smaller. Because let's face it, they're fantastic bathrooms on either coast...😂 Especially compared to the nearby Toy Story ones in WDW...like, no thank you...

Apparently they're great for when your three year old refuses to sit on the toilet because the toilet is automatic because there's barely anyone around and you won't be embarrassed by said three year old.

That's according to my mother anyway. No idea what she could possibly be talking about... :angelic:

Roughly 85-90% of hoteliers in Kansas City report that bookings are trailing a typical June or July without any major events. In four host cities—Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle—nearly 80% of hoteliers say bookings are behind a typical summer, with many describing the tournament as a “non-event.” In Los Angeles, nearly 65-70% of AHLA respondents report bookings below expectations, often in line with or lagging behind a typical summer. Likewise, roughly two-thirds of New York City hotels report softer-than-expected bookings that track with normal, but not elevated, summer demand.

The Olympics should do better, and hopefully, we're in better times by then for DL and SoCal's benefit.

Disney taking away the ability for Guests to spin their vehicles on Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin is just yuck. What are we even doing anymore. I'm glad I was able to ride it back in March before this change occurred but their frequent incompetence is tiring.

Seeing Dok Ondar's stacked with Wishables and Funko POPs is a sad sight, too.

The declining by degrees continues.
Wait, so exactly how much does it spin now? If babies can be on laps maybe I can still ride after all.

(sorry for the very late reaction)

My understanding is that whatever spin is left is automatic/the same each ride now. I haven't been back to the parks since March, when you were able to control it yourself. If each ride is the same now, maybe check out a recent POV on YouTube or something? Sorry I can't be more help.

What do we think Disneyland Park’s next new ride will be and how far out are we thinking?
I’d love to see “Pack Mules’ Revenge,” a family launch coaster aboard mischievous mules as they reclaim Frontierland from a section of Galaxy’s Edge. If I were running the company, I’d be aiming for Summer 2028. 😃

Regarding Roger Rabbit’s lost spinning effect, I’m even later to the party with my question: were the piranhas taken out of the Jungle Cruise? I went to the park in 2025, and again recently and neither time did the effect work, nor was it even alluded to by the skipper.

Based on construction reports from vloggers like Fresh Baked, they were taken out during this most recent JC refurb. Its unknown if its permanent or if they just removed them to work on them and they'll return at some point.

Certainly a shame if they don’t return. As much as the ride is stand up on a skiff, I always appreciated that they worked in a sort of action based element in the hippo pool. For the same reason, I always really liked the contemporary addition of the piranhas and thought it was an excellent move to end the ride with a little excitement. That is to say, every time I rode people started shrieking whenever they emerged. Honestly, when the native tribe was taken out I was hoping something like the piranhas would take their place. Here’s hoping the effect returns or they eventually come up with something better.

I've never been a big fan of the piranhas. They've always felt very filler to me. The Amazon has some very beautiful wildlife. Jaguars, sloths, capybaras, or tapirs would all be fun to see fill up the space.

Speaking of the Jungle Cruise, and Adventureland as a whole for that matter, I've always found it a shame there is no Australia representation in any of the Adventurelands across the globe. Not that there's room at Disneyland, but an outback adventure seems like a great source of inspiration for an attraction. If they ever build a Jungle Cruise in Paris or Shanghai, I hope they include the Darling River with kangaroos and koalas.

The piranhas were off for me during Christmas 2024 and have been off every trip I've had to the resort since.

I don't mind them missing in one sense because it was never a particularly good effect, but the ride has even less of a payoff going into its finale now.

It ends on more of a shrug than any other Jungle Cruise around the world, and the original version deserves better.

This is the main idea for me. It doesn’t have to be piranhas, but the ride should end with something memorable.
