Hey now, I've ridden that ride plenty...lessee, I rode it in the form of Dumbo, Astro-Orbitor, that silly dinosaur one over at AK...

Come to think of it I've never actually been on MCoA, but I'll bet I can tell you exactly what it's like to ride it...

I don't have a problem with the Magic Carpets of Aladdin at all. It seems to me that Disney needs to keep a good balance of e-ticket rides and thrill rides with rides that younger kids can ride and young kids love Aladdin. I guess my question is: what is the harm in building the Magic Carpets of Aladdin? Seriously, what else was Disney doing to be able to do in that space? Its not like they were going to take out the Jungle Cruise? Perhaps they could have built something a little bigger or different but it probably would have been at the expense of the Enchanted Tiki Room. Its a spinner ride but its themed fairly well (embedded jewels, camels, etc.). I don't have a problem with it. Any project that converts "space" with "something enjoyable to do" is OK with me. It seems to me that the space that was used was either going to be a spinner ride or empty. I'll take the spinner ride.

It's one thing to keep a balance of rides for little kids. It's another thing completely to keep building multiple copies of the same ride with different themes. It would be great to have a kiddie Aladdin ride that wasn't the same as three other rides in the park.

Tear it down!!!

I ask this seriously. What else could be done in the footprint that currently comprises the Magic Carpets of Aladdin? This is a silly comment but to the target riders of Aladdin (2-6 years old) Aladdin is completely different than Dumbo (though adults realize its the same thing). To say that you would rather have nothing rather than something is a bit selfish since there is clearly a class of patrons (young children) who enjoy riding it.

In that particular spot, I would much rather have had nothing. The Carpets just look stupid and very obviously cartoony in a land that otherwise successfully immerses you in a tropical setting.

As for young patrons, there are a multitude of attractions that they are able to enjoy, and if they really wanted to spin in circles again, I would suggest getting back in line for Dumbo.

Personally, I am sick of "family-friendly" attractions being replaced, whether by "thrill" rides or "kiddie" rides. Putting Goofy's Dancin' Maggots Show in the Diamond Horseshoe would be the last straw, but it's not nearly as permanent as junk like Aladdin's Magic Carpets or DinoRama

Oh please rehab this thing off the planet!! It's jarring to walk into that land and find that attraction whirling around. It just does not fit in. And, again, it just seems as if they came up with some last minute idea of plopping the attraction right in the middle with no thinking of whether it fits the overall theming.

If I remember correctly, doesn't it bottle-neck down the traffic to get around this thing?

During the peak times it is crazy in that area...Well ok it is crazy during all the peak times, but that ride is Smack in the middle of the Tiki room (Which needs a big time change) and the Tree House and the JC.....

Take the thing out.....

 I love watching people get hit. I got hit in the face the first time I rode it; had no idea that they spit at you. :dazzle:

You think that's bad? Ride "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" at IOA. That ride is a blast  You have to listen to the song because it tells you how to "stay dry." Very fun...even for a Dumbo clone :D

(Although...for some strange reason...the song isn't really "reliable" anymore  )

I've never thought that a character meet would be a better alternative than the attraction it replaced

Yeah, put an Aladdin meet and greet there! More Aladdin to stare at... erm, for kids to meet! :lookaroun

Not that there isn't already an Aladdin meet and greet nearby, but more is always better. :lookaroun
