The Disney Parks Blog has announced that Disney California Adventure will host a celebration of Jon Favreau's The Lion King (entirely set in Africa) this summer.

You can't make this stuff up, folks.

Chinese culture is a big part of California history, with San Francisco and Los Angeles both containing large neighborhoods founded by Chinese immigrants. So DCA gets a thumbs up on that one.

They probably could've built a DCA-caliber new ride for the money they're spending on the LK presence. Oh, wait, I'm sorry... Most NON-DISNEY parks could've built a decent ride with that budget. For a moment I forgot who we're talking about.

I think I can speak for everyone when I say we all like new offerings, in theory. This makes no sense, however.

They should make sense and be of quality. We’ll see about the latter later.

Though realistically, this is kind of the modern day equivalent of that lion king parade disneyland used to have. Just wondering, why not disneyland? If you want to go all out retro do that!
