The Imaginarium is a legacy competition that has history expanding far back into the forum's history with ties to The Imagineer and shockingly enough So You Want to be an Imagineer, which at the time was hosted on a whole different website. Now that a decade has passed since the Imaginarium first started, and now it is time to reenter the realm of the Imaginarium and restore imagination to the world!

- Gameplay -

Imagineers will be set into teams dependent on how many players sign up for the competition. The minimum amount of players needed for the competition will be eight, and the maximum will be twelve players. Teams will have on average a week or so to complete the challenge brought towards them, and satisfy the criteria for each challenge. Challenges will explore different aspects of the theme park experience including attractions, dining, lodging, merchandising, entertainment all while being open ended enough to allow for players to allow their creativity to flow. Players can expect to visit theme parks located at the Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Florida Resort, Disneyland Resort, and a few other surprises around the world. While this may seem daunting each challenge has been designed to allow for plenty of fun to be had by players to ensure of a slew of ideas and a flurry of all of your wonderful ideas.

Eliminations will be handled in a way different from the rest of the competitions that have occurred so far in the Platinum Celebration. The losing team's chief imagineer and the two bottom players chosen by said chief imagineer face the chopping block for each challenge. The entire losing team will then vote on who to send home from those in the bottom three taking into account all of the factors such as the chief imagineer possibly dropping the ball with leadership, or perhaps one of the other two imagineers really messed up in what they were supposed to do for the project. This elimination method causes this competition to focus on a mix of both Imagineering and strategy. This strategy can take form in different ways from forming alliances and pacts to taking into account the track record for each player for the elimination. The elimination period will last until every player sends in their vote or for 24 hours whichever occurs first. Voting for the eliminated player will occur after the results for each challenge comes out, and the votes must be sent in via a one on one PM that will be set up with the Imaginarium's host, @tcool123 .

This elimination style may seem threatening to some, but that is where the final component of the gameplay comes well into play! After each main challenge players will have the option to individually submit into an OPTIONAL immunity challenge that will be as complex as something out of the most recent One Sentence Competition. The immunity challenges will be posted in the main thread of the competition, but they must be submitted into the one on one PM that players to cast their votes. Immunity Challenges will open after the main challenge ends allowing for all players to submit an idea, and the Immunity Challenge will end when the voting period ends. Players who win immunity will find out if they won when all the votes are tallied and announced.

- Types of Challenges -

Standard Challenges
Standard challenges will be whole new prompts created for this competition. They can vary in scope and size, but will focus on teamwork alongside inspiring players to let their creativity flow through fun and unique prompts. Challenges will be due at 10 PM EST.

REDUX Challenges
First introduced in the most recent season of the One Sentence Competition, REDUX Challenges allow for prompts that have occurred quite some time ago to be revisited with a fresh new set of eyes. In a twist of the REDUX challenge occasionally players will actually add onto the ideas that were presented in that particular competition and challenge. Players can expect the following competitions to be REDUXED: The Imagineer, WED99's Think Different Challenge, Around the World in 80 Days, and other surprises yet to be unveiled! Challenges will be due at 10 PM EST.

Immunity Challenges
Immunity Challenges will open after the main challenge ends allowing for all players to submit an idea, and the Immunity Challenge will end when the voting period ends. Immunity Challenges will have a two sentence and one image maximum for submissions unless otherwise noted in the challenge rules. Players who win immunity will find out if they won when all the votes are tallied and announced.

- Rules -

1. Work together in your teams to create Imagineering projects that best fit the prompt for the challenge.

2. The Chief Imagineer is responsible for posting their team's final project in the competition thread. If the Chief Imagineer is unable to do so they should alert their fellow teammates, and find someone else to post. In the event that the Chief Imagineer does not reach out to their peers nor do they post their team will be the losing team for that challenge.

3. In the event that the Chief Imagineer posts their team's project excessively late the team will automatically lose that challenge. A grace period will be allowed after the due date to accommodate for any last minute chaos and such.

4. The losing team's Chief Imagineer will have to nominate two other players to join them in the bottom three so that the entire team can vote on who goes home. The losing team's members will have 24 hours to get their votes in, otherwise their vote will be considered null.

5. In the event of a tie during the elimination period the host of the Imaginarium will make the final decision on who goes home.

6. During the creation of any form of alliances and the such, please try to include the host of the Imaginarium in any PMs.

7. Please try to limit conversation to the discussion thread to allow for the competition thread to be seamless, and easy to follow.

8. Most importantly.... HAVE FUN!!!!

As we wait for the sign ups to open up I think now is a good time to reveal our special guest judges for the first chapter of the Imaginarium!

Throughout the Imaginarium's run @Outbound will be chiming in as a guest judge for every challenge.

During our first challenge, @mickeyfan5534 will be coming on as a special guest judge for a challenge to harkens back to Imaginarium history. Something they may be familiar with given that @mickeyfan5534 actually participated in the Imaginarium back when it first got off the ground ten years ago!

During our second challenge, @AceAstro will be coming on board as another special guest judge. Their past history with the park selected along with their excellent work on similar prompts from competitions past made them a great candidate for this challenge to be a special guest judge on!

More special guest judges will be revealed as time goes on!

A couple quick questions about the format.

-How is the Chief Imagineer chosen round to round?

-Are the immunity challenges going to be for immunity in the following round? I assume once nominees are locked in, they're locked in. So does it function more like Survivor where winning immunity grants you safety in the next round of voting or more like the Big Brother veto where winning it as a nominee means you get pulled off the block that round? Hope that question makes sense haha.

Sure thing :)

Randomizer chooses each team's Chief Imagineer, with a different player being chosen every time until every player has been a chief imagineer.

I think it will function more like Big Brother. Here's a mock scenraio:

The first challenge runs from August 7th to the 15th, and the team(s) submit on time so no automatic losing.

Right at the 10 PM due date the immunity challenge should be posted, and you can sumbit your submissions to me privately in a lounge i well set up for every player.

The immunity challenge is open to all players as a way to keep busy as I post results and reviews. If a player wins immunity it is only useful for themselves on THAT SPECIFIC challenge.

I hope that helps clear things up, and if not when the competition starts it should make more sense.
