The History of Rooftop Launched Fireworks

Okay, so I'm pretty certain (like 99.999% sure) they were used for Sorcery in the Sky. What I'm wondering is, we're they ever used before this? I don't know why I want to know, I read something and now I'm really curious...

Fireworks Island, perimeter fireworks and rooftop fireworks were always a staple of Christmas, New Years and 4th of July.

Rooftop launches if I'm not mistaken debuted with Sorcery in the Sky in May 1990.

Disneyland got them in 2000 with Believe.

The Magic Kingdom only got them when the hardware was installed for Wishes in 2003.
