The Spirit of Paradise Falls
The ride's description on the guidemap/guidebook: Join Carl and Russell as they travel to Paradise Falls.

The Spirit of Paradise Falls is the newest attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios' Pixar Plaza area. Using the same ride system as Peter Pan's Flight, this attraction lets you fly high over the Amazon rainforest and Paradise Falls, just like in the movie Up.

Facade
A whole new facade is built on Soundstage 1, next to Toy Story Midway Mania!. This facade depicts Carl's house, as seen here: http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad223/bigbird123photos/scan0001-5.jpg

Queue
You enter the ride through Carl's house and begin a tour much like that of the houses in Disneyland's Toontown. first up is the living room. On the TV, the documentary on Charles Muntz Carl saw as a boy is playing. You then enter the bedroom, where Carl takes care of Ellie and interacts with the audience via LCI. Exiting the bedroom, you encounter the "backyard," the dystopian construction site seen in the movie. Walking through the city, you enter the hospital, which leads you to Ellie's room, where she soon dies, making Carl devastated. You then wind up back at the house where Carl first meets Russell. The amusing conversation they have in the movie is recreated here. After Russell inspires Carl to go to Paradise Falls, like Ellie would have, they set off on their journey and you board the ride vehicle, a replica of Carl's house, complete with windows similar to the ride vehicles on Tokyo DisneySea's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Ride
After boarding your house, you fly through the sky, looking down at the city. This scene could be a modern approach to the London scene in PPF. Reaching an "altitude" of 30,000 feet, you can now see the Amazon rainforest teeming with life. You then descend to fly slightly below the rainforest's canopy. here, you see plant life and such animals as howler monkeys, jaguars, and birds that look a lot like Kevin, who you then encounter at the seemingly nonexistent transition between rainforest and barren plain. When Carl, Russell, and Kevin start their arduous trek through the barrenness, they stumble upon a lost dog which Russell names Dug. Discovering that Dug can talk via a special collar he's wearing, Russell has an amusing conversation with the dog. As a result of Russell asking him if he knew where Paradise Falls was, Dug says that they should follow the black dirigible in the air. When we finally see the dirigible, it is named "THE SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE" with a small code under it reading "DHS1989," a nod to Disney's Hollywood Studios's opening date. In a climatic fight scene between Kevin and Russell and Charles Muntz's (the owner of the dirigible) dogs. As a result, Muntz eventually catches up with them and starts a fire beneath Carl's house, forcing Carl to choose between saving it or Kevin. Carl rushes to put out the fire, allowing Muntz to take the bird. Carl and Russell eventually reach the falls, but Russell is angry with Carl. After being inspired by the late Ellie's "Adventure Book," Reinvigorated, Carl sets out to find Russell, only to see him sailing off on some balloons to save Kevin. Carl lightens his house and gives chase. After nearly being killed by Charles Muntz, Carl, Russell, and Dug escape by mounting Kevin and flying away. Because Muntz fell to his death, they also take the dirigible with them. In the end, Carl proudly presents Russell with his final badge: the grape soda cap that Ellie gave to Carl when they first met. The two then enjoy some ice cream together, sitting on the curb outside the shop as Russell and his father used to do, with the dirigible parked nearby. Finally, you go into the unload station and, bypassing the gift shop, get out onto the streets of Pixar Plaza.

Gift Shop
If you choose to stay in the gift shop, you notice that you are in The Wilderness Explorer's Supply. Here, you can by Up merchandise, Venezuelan crafts, and survival kits.

I loved how the queue set up the story.
Fun: 7/10
flying from a house held up by balloons fun. I imagined i was there and i was easily having fun.
Realism: 8/10
Very, Very realistic. it was added into the current area nicely, and i loved the option to actually skip the gift shop once in a while.
Details: 7/10
You had the little details which was nice. And i haven`t seen UP and this ride makes sense to me
Presentation: 9/10
SUPER easy to read, and it was early so I gave you 1 extra mark

overall 47/60

Originality: 8/10
Creativity: 8/10 I LOVED the queue. That was really good. However, at times the ride description just felt like a description of the movie rather than a ride. I understand it was supposed to tell the same story of the movie, but after the first couple scenes, the description didn't sound like a ride. Do you know what I mean?
Fun: 10/10 It looked like a very very fun ride! :)
Realism: 7/10 marked off points 'cause I don't see it all fitting inside Soundstage 1. I might be wrong though. (The queue, ride, and shop was realistic. No problems there.)
Details:7/10 I liked the Studios' opening year reference!
Presentation: 11/10 an extra point for posting early. It was very easy to read and was well organized.

Overall: 51/60 A very well done attraction! :sohappy:

(However, you might want to be aware that with a look at other done projects, it's possible that I may grade harder in the future. You were smart to turn in your project first.:))

And i haven`t seen UP...

You should really consider renting that movie right now and watching it. It's a great movie. ;)

Up, Up, and Away!

Outside Apperance
After having a great time riding Toy Story Mania!, you walk and see the new Up, Up, and Away! attraction, fashioned after Pixar's Up! The outside looks loosely like this picture (http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z448/Epcot_Imagineer/Imagineering_Up_1.jpg) with a bulldozer sitting next to the home. You also notice that the home's mailbox is missing, and some strange looking helium canisters are strewn across the lawn. The line starts from the open gate, and into Mr. Fredrickson's house.

The Queue
After entering the house, you see that the home is set up exactly like the movie. The queue winds throughout the whole home, there are still postcards wedged into the mirror on the dresser after you walk in, a box of cereal sitting on the counter, and the two chairs Carl and Ellie used to sit in are in their familiar places. You make your way upstairs and the stairs slowly transform into the Amazon rainforest! The stairs ending, you walk through the winding jungle, the queue much smaller than it appears in the rainforest. Soon, you make it to Paradise Falls, where an Audio-Animatronic Carl is telling you that Russell has been captured by Charles Muntz, and that you need to fly the house to save him! Furniture from the home are scattered throughout the end of the queue. Then, the line splits three ways and you are directed by a cast member to one of the three areas. Once you have reached the specified area, you are loaded onto your 'House' through the front door onto simulators, and the ride begins.

The Ride
As you settle into the multitude of different types of seats, you fasten your crude seat-belts (Normal seat-belts, but colored to look like Carl's ties). An Autonomatronic Carl is turning his upper body to greet you, saying to "Hurry Up!", and "We've got to get to Russell fast!" Finally, the front door to the house closes and you turn and face Carl who is piloting the house with his maneuvering machine (http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z448/Epcot_Imagineer/Screenshot2011-06-20at121236AM.png). The wall on which the picture shows Carl leaning out, will be the screen, including all the other windows in the 1st story as well, due to the fact the simulator version of the home only has one floor, of course. Because of an accident Carl makes on the rocks early in the ride, the small window, in the picture will no longer be there, as a major section of the wall will be missing, allowing for a better viewing area. The screen will be in 3D, but not with those usual Disney 3D movie glasses but with a mock up of Carl's! (http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z448/Epcot_Imagineer/Screenshot2011-06-20at123134AM.png) The simulator will be fairly similar to Star Tour's, mechanically wise.

Unloading/Gift Shop
After the crazy ride in the house, Carl bids you farewell, as you have saved Russell, who you can hear knocking on the front door asking, "Can I come in now?", and you exit the back door. The Gift Shop will be the Fenton's Ice Cream shop you see at the end of Up, which would be placed on the other side of the pillar thingy  (http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z448/Epcot_Imagineer/Imagineering_Up_2.jpg)

AND THAT IS MY ENTRY! THANK YOU!

Ratatouille Rescue!

After finding out about the successful new restaurant run by Remy, Linguini, and Colette, their arch enemy Skinner kidnaps Remy to save his dreams of becoming the wealthiest chef in the world. Now you, Remy's rat family, must search the city of Paris to save him, and la Ratatouille.

Facade
The ride would be located in the "hot set" area beside the toy story ride. the facade would be constructed like the entrance to la Ratatouille, as seen at the end of the movie, with a quarter of the facade in the area closest to TSMM looking like a continuation of the street. The bistro was on a corner in the movie and therefore having the themeing running into the corner adds to the building's design. Ivy would cover the old stone work with beautiful iron work over the windows, and finally the famous sign on the corner that advertises the restaurant would be present. Speakers would play Parisian music from the movie in the area and if you look hard enough, you can see the balcony of the rat restaurant through the ivy on the roof and hear the occasional squeak from one of Remy's friends.

Queue
The queue would begin under the red awning outside that surrounds the bistro, about halfway up. As you enter through the main doors you see a sign on the door's window that says "temporarily closed, chef under the weather" first in French then underneath in English with brackets. You then enter the dining area of the little bistro where you wind through tables all set for dinner and explore the quaint little dining area. Next you go through the doors into the kitchen where you see the specially designed area that Remy has to work. both the kitchen and dining areas are empty, while the music continues to play in the background. Just before exiting the kitchen though you can see a light on in a small office in the back and can see shadows moving. As the queue moves you closer to the door you can hear the voices of Linguini and Colette. They are talking about what they are going to do without Remy and how to save the business. They don't know where hes gone or whats happened to him since the last dinner service. From here the queue leads you through the back door of the kitchen "outside" into the Parisian night where you suddenly notice you are a lot smaller then before. You are now viewing things from a rat's perspective, as everything seems a lot bigger, and are taken around the corner on the road to the garbage cans. Once you go from human to rat the rat voice go from squeaks to speech.

Pre-show
When you reach this area the queue then spills into an open theater setting, similar to the queue design of haunted mansion, where you are now facing a large screen and are lined on both sides by 5 foot tall, lifelike AA's. They are the rats of Remy's family and they are waiting for the message from their leader. The screen at first is just the back wall and part of a raised road area above a gutter. When the pre-show begins Emile and Remy's dad come on the screen, using the raised walkway as a stage. They then tell the rats (you and the AA's) the story of how Remy has been kidnapped by Skinner again and this time he has taken him to a secret location where he can copy and steal all of Remy's recipes and techniques and use them to restore his career. They then say that it is now your job to find out the location hes being kept by hunting the streets of Paris through the sewers and rescue him before it is too late. Throughout the show the AA's react to what the boss and Emile say with different actions, they also interact with the guests prior to the show starting. After the pre-show ends and you know your instructions you enter the next queue area through the sewer grate and it begins in the sewer.

Queue 2
While you go through the grate, you hear the squeak of your fellow rats coming through the door and air jets give the feeling of tails brushing against you as they pass. the second queue is in the sewer and its a series of switchbacks that take you through the dark. You can hear the voices of Emile and Remy's dad as you head along telling you to hurry. On darkened screens you can see rats going through different pipes and holes to different locations around the city. one AA rat is stuck in a pipe with only his back half showing while your walking through the line and he is talking to the guests trying to get them to help him and he also comments on his figure purely for entertainment like mr potato head in TSMM. this leads you up to the ride vehicles.

The Ride
You enter your ride vehicle which is a single car 3 seats across, similar to the test track car, only this one is shaped like a rat. This way you are immersed deeper into the thought that you are a rat searching for Remy. The vehicles look like they are coming out of one pipe and going into another. The ride is a somewhat intense indoor roller coaster in close quarters and the ride experience is somewhat similar to the mummy in universal. When leaving the platform you find out you are part of the team that's with Emile so he will be the ride narrator so to speak. Sound comes from on board speakers. You take off at a slow pace as Emile tells you the scout rats are looking all around you and to look while he waits for a report from the others further up the tunnel. AA rat's are all around in different places looking up through different places in the tight sewer. The track heads toward a screen where you are looking out of a gutter and you don't see anything but a few chef characters from the movie. your vehicle backs up a bit and then stops you hear back from Emile and he said that a scout has found where Remy is. that's when the screen goes black, it lifts up, and you take off as fast as you can to go save Remy. This is the longest of 2 coaster sections in the ride that is very thrilling and involves a corkscrew or a loop or 2. The coaster sections feel like they are in very close quarters and through projections around you and structures you feel like your inside a pipe in the sewer. Emile is saying different things all through the ride to interact with what occurs. Finally things slow down when you begin to go up a lift hill and come up to a video screen that is a sewer grate in the floor of Skinner's kitchen. Then you hear Emile say ready attack where you go to the next coaster segment in a higher area. This one is different however because you are surrounded by video screens all around where you can see the attack take place. Eventually Emile says we have Remy get to the exit! and there's a steep drop as you dive through the drain and back into the darkness. this can be made possible with the main coaster area starting on the left then you go up to the second coaster area that's all in a higher area with the video screens being hidden by the opening being made a few feet smaller then it actually is. After finishing in this second room, the coaster drops into the first room again does a few more twists and turns, and ends up back at the station.

Gift Shop
On your way to the exit station you see the Remy AA and Emile AA waving bye and saying thank you. Then you exit your rat walk down a dark hallway and threw the back doors of the restaurant again where your now human size and you can hear Colette and Linguini's reunion with Remy. From there you walk through another door and enter the gift shop it is themed like a french boutique that is next door to Ratatouille called Madame Lablanc's Parisian Necessities. It hosts a chatty CM who is Madame Lablanc and interacts with guests. Attached to that on the side closest to the ride is a quick service area called ratatouille express where you can get some snacks and drinks from Remy's famous kitchen particularly ratatouille and wine. For themeing there are lcd screens instead of windows showing the mice hard at work in the kitchens.

Ratatouille Rescue
Realism: 6/10 It mostly felt realistic. However I don't think the ride will fit in Pixar Place and I don't see the screens in the 2nd coaster area happinin'. Could you explain that a bit more?
Overall: 52/60 A wonderful attraction! :sohappy:

Sorry I just posted my ride map out now. As i said in that response, the roof in that area would have to be raised approx 2 stories to cover the 2nd coaster area and there would be lipped sides on the bottom so that the light wont interfere with the sewer part of the attraction. the outside upper facade will be themed similar to the front of the building.

you didn't put a lot of details into the ride..

Sorry about that! I was looking back over my work a couple hours ago and thought "Wait, I forgot to say what happens IN the ride!" :p I might edit it in after the judging is complete, though. Creating and looking over work at 1 AM isn't the best idea!

EDIT: I also forgot to say due to it's similarity to Star Tours, I felt it might be a little necessary to throw in some lines from the original Star Tours, like while soaring after the Spirit of Adventure and the dogs in their airplanes come out to fight Carl he could say "A dog fight? I've always wanted to do this!" That sort of thing.

this s KJSwanson's project:

The ride is Bringing Back Boo

Appearance: When you walk up to Bringing Back Boo, you will first see a building resembling the factory (http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...yxukl-9g73Psxg) but there are double doors on the shorter side that are made of glass.

Queue: Once inside, your in the Monsters Inc. Lobby. There is an animatronic Raz behind the desk saying “Welcome to Monsters Incorperated, This way please” as she points to the second set of glass doors. Once through the doors, you are on the scare floor. There are ten doors ahead, all different. There will be an animatronic Sully and Mike ahead telling you how boo wants to come back, but they can’t find her door. So they need you to find her door.

Maze: So you will be led to the doors and choose what door to go in. Once you choose your door, you go in. There will then be a choice of three doors. Again you choose a door. After you go through one of three doors, there is a choice of two more doors. This gives you sixty possible rooms to go to. Every room at the end will be differeent rooms. But that means you might not find Boo. If you don’t find her the first time, you can go back and go through the other doors to find her. And to make sue you can’t find Boo in the same place again, the last sixty rooms are set up so they can move around and be set in different orders. When someone finally finds Boo, you hear that you may leave via the door in the last room. This leads to the hallway where all of the rooms are connected. You follow the hallway back to the Lobby and Celia bids you a happy farewell.

Gift Shop: When leaving the maze through the hallway, you see a door marked “Supply Closet” Inside is the gift shop, The Supply Closet. There you can buy all sorts of Monsters Inc toy and trinkets. And if you are the winner, you receive five dollars off anything in the gift shop.

And that is my idea for an interesting attraction for Disney!

Creativity 8/10

Fun 7/10 the only problem is the fact that some people may want to leave after the first try instead of having to go back again. It just might make it a ride people may not want to go on because they want to get moving right after.

Realism 7/10 I don't see this fitting in pixar place but besides that it is very realistic

Detail 6/10 It may be best if there was more detail per room instead of just doors. like maybe a mural of monsters on the wall or in some kids bedroom
