The Spirit of Paradise Falls
The ride's description on the guidemap/guidebook:
Join Carl and Russell as they travel to Paradise Falls.
The Spirit of Paradise Falls is the newest attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios' Pixar Plaza area. Using the same ride system as
Peter Pan's Flight, this attraction lets you fly high over the Amazon rainforest and Paradise Falls, just like in the movie
Up.
Facade
A whole new facade is built on Soundstage 1, next to
Toy Story Midway Mania!. This facade depicts Carl's house, as seen here:

You enter the ride through Carl's house and begin a tour much like that of the houses in Disneyland's Toontown. first up is the living room. On the TV, the documentary on Charles Muntz Carl saw as a boy is playing. You then enter the bedroom, where Carl takes care of Ellie and interacts with the audience via LCI. Exiting the bedroom, you encounter the "backyard," the dystopian construction site seen in the movie. Walking through the city, you enter the hospital, which leads you to Ellie's room, where she soon dies, making Carl devastated. You then wind up back at the house where Carl first meets Russell. The amusing conversation they have in the movie is recreated here. After Russell inspires Carl to go to Paradise Falls, like Ellie would have, they set off on their journey and you board the ride vehicle, a replica of Carl's house, complete with windows similar to the ride vehicles on Tokyo DisneySea's
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Ride
After boarding your house, you fly through the sky, looking down at the city. This scene could be a modern approach to the London scene in PPF. Reaching an "altitude" of 30,000 feet, you can now see the Amazon rainforest teeming with life. You then descend to fly slightly below the rainforest's canopy. here, you see plant life and such animals as howler monkeys, jaguars, and birds that look a lot like Kevin, who you then encounter at the seemingly nonexistent transition between rainforest and barren plain. When Carl, Russell, and Kevin start their arduous trek through the barrenness, they stumble upon a lost dog which Russell names Dug. Discovering that Dug can talk via a special collar he's wearing, Russell has an amusing conversation with the dog. As a result of Russell asking him if he knew where Paradise Falls was, Dug says that they should follow the black dirigible in the air. When we finally see the dirigible, it is named "THE SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE" with a small code under it reading "DHS1989," a nod to Disney's Hollywood Studios's opening date. In a climatic fight scene between Kevin and Russell and Charles Muntz's (the owner of the dirigible) dogs. As a result, Muntz eventually catches up with them and starts a fire beneath Carl's house, forcing Carl to choose between saving it or Kevin. Carl rushes to put out the fire, allowing Muntz to take the bird. Carl and Russell eventually reach the falls, but Russell is angry with Carl. After being inspired by the late Ellie's "Adventure Book," Reinvigorated, Carl sets out to find Russell, only to see him sailing off on some balloons to save Kevin. Carl lightens his house and gives chase. After nearly being killed by Charles Muntz, Carl, Russell, and Dug escape by mounting Kevin and flying away. Because Muntz fell to his death, they also take the dirigible with them. In the end, Carl proudly presents Russell with his final badge: the grape soda cap that Ellie gave to Carl when they first met. The two then enjoy some ice cream together, sitting on the curb outside the shop as Russell and his father used to do, with the dirigible parked nearby. Finally, you go into the unload station and, bypassing the gift shop, get out onto the streets of Pixar Plaza.
