Formulating ideas as a thought experiment for keeping WDW prosperous and better than before the troubles. Not meant to be bullet proof. Mostly stream of consciousness ideas and brainstorming. Because why not?

To ensure the best guest experience (and RoI to keep the machine fueled) there could be major changes considered.

For this exercise each park has a daytime schedule. Generally 8 A.M. until 6 P.M.

Each park will have an offering the type of which rotates nightly. These events have 3 versions.

1. Special Ticketed Events I.E. Very Merry Christmas Party, Not So Scary Hallloween Party and Villians at MK. Star Wars Events, Dapper Nights and Music Nights at the Studios, and new events at Epcot and DAK. Available to all guests until sold out. One or two parks available most nights.

2. Disney After Hours- as they exist now. One available most nights. Limited attendance. No fireworks but projection shows offered. Limited characters, limited restaurant options but free snacks. Generally 8 P.M. to Midnight.

3. A.P. Nights (new option) - reserved for APs who did not go to a park during the day. Includes regular fireworks show, and everything normally offered at night currently. Fewer characters and limited M&Gs. Generally programmed for an older crowd and families with teen children. Younger families will find more characters, M&Gs and character parades by choosing to visit during the day.

Some days will only offer a nighttime option for 3 parks but most nights will see all 4 parks offering one of the 3 options above. Determined mostly by park ops. There will be an A.P. Nights option every night however. And at least one park will have an all day standard schedule for general admission day guests (walk ups).

Now that specialty tickets and APs are covered, time for day use tickets. In this scenario there are two offered. By far these will constitute the bulk of ticket sales.

General Pass - A day long pass with resrictions. For use from park open to close and available to those staying on or off property. Crafted for guests who like to soak in the atmosphere of the parks, linger over meals and enjoy entertainment and a few favorite attractions. Attractions and shows are available through the standby queue or space available only. These passes would be favored by seasoned visitors who never run from one attraction to the next.

Touring Plan Pass - The new option that changes everything. And the keystone that makes this scenario work. App centric and intuitive. Behind the screen it is a robust decision tree that aids the guest in planning the perfect day for their party. All offered plans essentially guarantee guests a highly efficient and specific schedule with little or no wait times. These plans activate around park opening and must be reserved the previous day or sooner. Some plans will be more popular than others and by necessity will be limited. So early reservations will be the norm. Touring Plans conclude between 5 or 6 P.M.. Guests can linger but will be prompted towards shopping, dining or exiting the parks as they will not be able to access any shows or attractions. They likely will be ready to move on anyway. More details to follow.

Both passes have identical pricing but only the General Pass will be available to walk ups. If numbers allow. Park attendance totals will be highly controlled in this scenario for all options including total APs made available. Expect sell outs and wait lists to become the rule. Not the exception.
